My supervisor stopped by and brought some donuts in to work today, and they were delicious! I had a blueberry cake donut, and it was definitely one of the best I've ever had! I also tried a bite of the yeast donut twist and that was very fluffy and tasty as well! Since I did not see the store, I'm not sure what the ambiance is like but my supervisor told me it is cash only and they run out of things early, so these are good things to note! I don't quite know how I stumbled upon the existence of this place, but the one word descriptor has to be "serendipitous." What that has to do with donuts may seem quite a stretch; just try it and see what I mean. A couple of caveats to share before I get started. 1. Only open 6:30am-9am Tuesday-Saturday 2. Only cash...no cards or digital pay allowed This is a commercial bakery that only opens to the public for the above hours. When they sell out: that's it, there ain't no mo'! So if ever you go into a breakfast joint somewhere and order an apple fritter or a cheese danish, for instance, chances are that it may well come from here without you knowing it. Too bad, because what I DID get is about the best I've tasted since moving to FL in 2015, or maybe ever! I wound up getting half a dozen donuts and a pair of apple fritters. As you can tell from the photos, they seem to carry a nice but limited variety of items. I deliberately got one each of six different kinds to roll the dice and get a well informed sense of their offerings. Strawberry filled, cream filled, apple filled, chocolate glazed Bavarian cream filled, honey glaze and cinnamon sour cream donut. Fresh, light and airy...I sense that they use quality ingredients and don't cut corners either. Each one of them also looked carefully made and not sloppy. All of 'em are good sized too! I'm sure you noticed that while the donuts are kinda big, the apple fritters are humongous! I don't think I'd ever seen one as big as these behemoths. Each one weighed over half a pound! If these were what tempted Adam & Eve then I can't blame 'em for surrendering the keys to the kingdom to a soliloquizing serpent. I'd gladly travel to the Land of Nod for one! Happily I only have to drive a few miles from home. Loads of apple filling and great glaze all enveloped by a perky, crisp dough. Onto the shop itself...I usually wouldn't look twice at the raggedy strip mall where this place is located...I note all the more so since the shop itself is tucked into a back corner not visible from Starkey. The nondescript signboard out front has one little rectangle denoting "Sunshine Bakery" amongst all the other tenants there. It's in a cute little storefront with a table and chairs outside; an oasis of cheer in a dreary desert of dullness and gloom. Very clean and neat inside, and the lady who came out to take my order was one of the friendliest people I've met in awhile. I asked a couple of questions, and received thoughtful, caring responses along with a good personal story about some of their products. That personal friendly touch took this little jaunt from an easy 4 stars to five and then some. I asked about their Kaiser rolls and croissants too; they make 'em but not every day. The lady (Anna, I think?) DID say that if I'd like some then just call a day or two before and they'd be glad to have some waiting for me. So if fresh yummy baked goods at oddball morning hours are your thing, then I'd certainly say that this place can match up to any donut out there and probably leaves the donut chains in the dust! I enjoy small businesses and connecting with regular folks just trying to make a living by doing what they love. Reward yourself with an early morning trip here and get the good stuff before it runs out. I can see how they sell out quickly, and as Anna told me herself, they don't like having anything left over by day's end. read more

Horrific service. I called yesterday to tell them I was picking up the cupcakes today around 7:45am. Dae said: "I got you here at 7am". I came to today to pick them up around 8:17 am and cupcakes and they were not ready and they wanted me to wait another 15 mins. On top of that they were asking another $30 for a cake I had to cancel due to the horrible cake experience I had previously l still wanted to give them some business and they still screw up! I spoke perfect Spanish and Dai couldn't still understand what "los recogo mañana en la mañana" means. Don't plan any events with them. Even speaking in their own language they won't get it!!! Go somewhere else!! I had to get my $$ back a run back to work. And they still keep my cupcake topper! I still have to drive back to this place. read more

This small bakery makes some of the best donuts I've ever tasted! I first heard about them from a vendor I bought from. They were so good that I had to ask where they got them. It turns out they're from Sunshine Bakery. Every time I've visited, it's been really early, as they usually sell out fast. The actual hours are 6:30-9:00 a.m. The bakery primarily does wholesale and specialty orders, so they only have a limited amount available to the public each day. I suggest getting there as early as possible. Once the donuts are gone, they're gone! Every donut I've tried is delicious, especially the filled ones. They have a generous amount of filling in them. Their Boston cream donut is my favorite. If you ever want to impress the office or just enjoy a great donut, I highly recommend them. Just a heads up, they only accept cash. read more

Just went here this morning for the first time, was the closest donut shop besides Dunkin and I didn't want Dunkin. It's a small shop located in a little plaza, easy to find with lots of parking. This is one of the best doughnut shops I have ever tried. The sour cream and apple fritters are great! I have not tried other varieties yet as I can't bring myself to not having the above for my doughnut fix. I would rate this 10 stars if possible! The lady who helped me very friendly! Their donuts are very good, but not spectacular. The selection is underwhelming. I was surprised to see just one case. It truly is a wholesale place. Worth it if you are in within a couple miles but I traveled from Indian rocks beach based on the reviews. Not worth it. We stumbled upon it after our dinner at Athenian Garden restaurant. They feature a fine assortment of doughnuts,muffins,danish, croissants and turnovers, and rolls of different varieties. This is a wholesale bakery that has a very very small retail store in the front of the business. Get this..... store hours....Tues to Sat -6:30 am to 10:00am or sooner if sold out. Your best bet is to place your order the day before, and it will be waiting for you when you get there the next morning. There is no minimum order. We order by the 1/2 dozen. Their doughnuts are large yet light and are fantastic! They are located in the DeGeorge plaza about a 1/4 mile south of Ulmerton Rd on the West side at 12698 Starkey Rd in Largo. We tried this place for the first time today. Hidden gem indeed. As we pulled up, a lady was walking out with two boxes of goodies. We didn't get quite that much, just four donuts. They are not overly sweet nor heavy which I appreciated. Did I mention how it only cost $3.20? Having recently moved from downtown Chicago, these would have easily been about $12 there. They had a good assortment of old fashioned, filled and yeast raised donuts. We arrived around 7:30am on a Saturday and the display was half filled. People must come right when they open.
