Everything was excellent from the moment we walked in. We were greeted by Brady who was our server, he allowed me to try few beers because I am not familiar with beer. We order chicken wings with Parmesan, we split a 16" pizza, half Hawaiian, half with white sauce, goat cheese, spinach and mushrooms l believe and Cesar's salad. We had some leftovers which we ate the next day and it was so good. The ambience was amazing. We were away from home but felt surrounded by very friendly people. We were looking for a place in the area for brunch before heading home after being in town for a wedding. My daughter and her husband had been here before for lunch and dinner so when this was on my short list, I got a quick yes. We were seated immediately on arrival and server took drink orders quickly. Right away we knew we wanted to try the Beignets and got a basket for the table to share. They were really good and caused a discussion/argument over who got to have the last one. My wife and I decided to share the Downtown Biscuit - Crispy fried chicken, buffalo sauce, pickles and garlic-basil mayo on a biscuit. We asked for the sauce on the side and added cheese. We chose the cheesy grits for our side. It was excellent! The biscuit was perfectly cooked, soft & fluffy inside with just the right amount of browning on the top and bottom. Even without the sauce the chicken had a good flavor. Overall the parts together were a great combination. The grits were creamy and very cheesy. A+ Based on the previous experience of my daughter and her husband at lunch & dinner, great options at those meals as well. We tried this place yesterday and we were impressed. I had a chicken salad that was really yummy and my husband made his own pizza with pepperoni, bacon and jalapenos on it. It was really good too, and it was great the second day as well. Service was excellant and they play old rock music videos which was really fun to watch "the good ole days." Totally recommend. Also great place for kids as they have a menu for kids that comes with crayons. Haven't experienced that in a long time. Way to go! read more

Wow, it has been 10 years now since my first review of this local eatery..... So, we still frequent this place, and I still honestly think 4 stars deserving. Over the years the brewery part has changed up a lot, but they still offer some amazing IPA's if your into that. They have a added brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays. They have some really tasty options, breakfast pizza is one of the best I've ever had. (Note they are busier since adding it & the earlier you get there the better) As I said above, still a solid 4 star, but not as close to a 5 anymore. Now this is just my opinion, and I try to be fair. My original review 10 years ago was a 4.75 if I could have given option. I am taking off little due to the sweet tea now is severely inconsistent. Came here on the recommendation of someone, the food and beer are really nice, but the place was fairly dirty. Literally, there were fries, cup lids, napkins and cheese on the floor. If it had been busy, ok, but it wasn't crowded and easy to sweep up. Food-wise, great. Beer, you bet. If the front of the house is this dirty though, what does the back of the house look like? We loved this restaurant! We were in town for a pickleball tournament and asked some locals where to go for a pizza and this is the spot they recommended! The food was amazing. The service was super, Abby was the best server!! And the vibe of the place is so relaxed and quaint and fun! We got a half and half pizza and it was the best ever. I had the Rona with was piled high with tomatoes including cherry tomatoes and fresh mozzarella and basil. I loved it. My husband wanted deli pepperoni with banana peppers and it was a home-run! We both had a salad which was full of healthy greens. I tried one of the needles drinks in the summer menu, the blackberry honey fizz "without the buzz". What a refreshing non-alcoholic drink on a hot day!! Hints of honey and mint leaves with fresh blackberries topped off with club soda. Loved it. We had an amazing waitress who made numerous recommendations and provided excellent service. It was a delight to be waited on by Ruby(?). The carnivore pizza and calzone were outstanding. We really enjoyed the mozzarella sticks and beignets. The salad was definitely overpriced and the garlic fries should have been double fried (parcooked then high temp fry for crisp) as they were soggy and the inside was in that semi-fried state. Tonight I had a classic hamburger and loaded fries and my son had the Alfredo with chicken and he wanted broccoli but they said the didn't have broccoli even though he has had it before. And I had the worse hamburger I have ever had. And the fries was burn blacker than my black cat. It was terrible. The service is ok and of course the restaurant is decorated ok as well. I have had to wait a bit too long in my opinion when they are busy with no acknowledgement. I'd taken, "We will be with you shortly" but to no avail. The two most important parts of visiting a restaurant are service and food, obviously. Well today we had both. We have been in Jackson for a few months and have visited numerous restaurants and spent a lot of money just to be disappointed and feel like we just wasted our money. Today we went to Rock and Dough and first of all we met Jackson (Jack). We hit the jackpot with him. He was friendly, knowledgable and attentive, everything you want in someone taking care of you at a restaurant. We had the wings and pizza and beer flights. Everything was excellent. The Greek salad we thought had some way to go to become Greek but everything else was delicious but without Jack it would not have been as good. Thank you Jack. We were passing through on a road trip looking for some new places to eat. Found Rock' N Dough. We were quickly seated and our server was the to quickly get our drink order. We ordered an appetizer of the pretzels and cheese. It was an order of two pretzels nearly the size you get at the stadium for games! They were excellently made, hot and tender. Not the best ever, but certainly good enough to satisfy your pizza craving. Pricey - $20 for a small pizza. Caesar salad with chicken was good and HUGE. Calzones are also really big. You can definitely get full on this food. (For coronavirus protection, sign on the door requires masks, but all the staff is wearing them under their nose, so don't worry too much about following the rules here). The Get Lift'd pie is so good! I've never had pizza this way, and I went crazy and had two slices. It's not New York-style, and I'm extremely picky with my pizza, and I still loved it. The medium size is perfect for 2-3 people. And if you want to stick to salads, I highly recommend the Farmhouse - if you like candied nuts and grilled chicken - and the Greek - it really hits the spot and has such fresh feta. You can get the salads in full sizes or side sizes. Beware that the full is huge! I tried the Saison and loved the fruity aftertaste. Also tried their gin and tonic, and boy, was it strong, but tasty. If I were a drinker, that'd be my go-to. As for ambiance, the vibe is super trendy and cool - might be the coolest place in town. Alright, the bar isn't set that high, but still, I felt like I was hanging out at a place in a big city. It's got a college crowd/family-friendly/date-night thing going on all at the same time. It is not exactly somewhere you will find on a regular basis unless you have $25 to spend on a pizza that is not even that large. They pride themselves on some healthy items and modest portion sizes. If this was in Nashville or Memphis, the price tag would make more sense to me, but this is in Jackson. Additionally, pizza for that cost? Why don't you just go to Chandelier if you really want to spend that? Also why couldn't the hostess get off her phone and pay us attention upon our arrival? She was pretty busy playing on that than minding the host stand. Opinions about price aside, I feel that they do have some decent offerings for both adults and children. If you want a smaller portion, just get something off the kids' menu. There is not much to be said about service. She showed up when needed and gave us what we needed when it was needed.
