Our 9 and 11 year old granddaughters could not have been more delighted with their first horseback riding experience at the Rockin Maddie Ranch. On the first day they were given lessons on how to handle, ride and care for the horses so that they felt comfortable on the trail ride on the next day. Tanner and Jack Jack, their horses, were gentle but lively, responsive to commands and well mannered.They have stolen their hearts! The entire ranch is immaculate and well run. We took two kids (11 and 13 year olds) on the Mt. Shasta View trail ride in July. We had some mix up on the date, but Laura and staff were so accommodating and we were able to ride even though she wasn't expecting us. She even let us leave our dog on their farm so we could all ride together as a family (we called ahead about this) -thank you Laura! A lovely young woman by the name of Kim was our guide. She offered interesting and witty commentary that kept the kids entertained, and we got to go on a trail that offered interesting terrain and gorgeous views of Mt. Shasta at dusk. The horses were very well trained and we truly enjoyed our excursion. A plus: Laura is a huge animal lover. She has many rescue dogs on her property and you can just tell from the dogs to the well behaved horses, that she is a very kind soul. That was important to us...we felt we really connected with Laura and her staff. Rockin Maddy offers very reasonably priced rides, and I would highly recommend this ranch to anyone (even beginners). Try them out. You won't be disappointed. read more

Nothing but great things to say about Rockin Maddy Ranch. We had a group 8, 7 of which had either not ridden or hadn't ridden in 30 years. They were so accommodating, so friendly and made the horseback riding so fun! We had two in our group that were very hesitant and very anxious and they spent extra time with them to make sure they were comfortable and weren't going to miss out on this incredible ride. Very nice family greeted us upon entering the ranch. The location was easy to get to with Apple Maps. We were beginner riders and had a great time, the horses were friendly and easy to work with. Our instructor was very nice! We took on the 2 hour ride with a breathtaking view of The Valley and Mount Shasta. Would recommend to others! read more

We had such a wonderful time visiting the ranch this weekend. We were celebrating our anniversary in Mount Shasta and signed up for the 2 hour advanced trail ride. The trail was beautiful and the views were phenomenal! Laura and her husband run the ranch and are really great people. They have a bunch of rescue animals on their property including several of their horses. All the horses we met were extremely friendly and we loved that it was very obvious that all their horses are loved and are their pets opposed to being 'worker' horses. We offered to help afterwards and they gave us the opportunity to help feed all 30 of their horses! It was truly a unique experience. We will be coming back again! read more

Rockin Maddy Ranch gave us an an exceptional horseback riding experience. The booking of the event was easy via text with great communication. Our party of 4 ranged from an experience rider to a beginner and we all had a great 2 hour trail ride with amazing sights. All of the people at the ranch are helpful and there is a welcoming family atmosphere. Laura is the heartbeat of Rockin Maddy Ranch she knows her horses so well and paired each of us with the perfect horse for our ability and personality. I really appreciated how they to took the time to make sure we were comfortable in the saddle. They also took some great pictures for us and told some stories of the horses and their experiences. Alec our guide did a great job too he didn't rush us and answered all our questions about the surrounding area and tips for riding the horses correctly. My favorite part of the experience was interacting with the horses from meeting Clyde to feeding Rosie her oats after the ride. It was truly an amazing day and again a reflection of how the people here love horses and what they do. Thank you again and we can't wait for our next visit! read more

What a wonderful first time experience for us anmy 8 year old grandson! He had a one on one lesson with the owner Laura. Easter and Gunnar made a great connection. We (I and my wife) went for "Mt.Shasta View Ride" and it was truly wonderful. The horses are well trained and the people (Laura and her Husband) who own this ranch are really great. They are amazing instructors and guide you well through out the ride. Also, they make sure that you are safe on the horses. We were total newbies, but Laura and her Husband handled everything so well, that we never felt like one. That's what made the ride more fun and thrilling. On reaching the top of the hill, the view was just exhilarating and Laura clicked really nice pics with Mt.Shasta in background. By the end of the ride we were pretty confident in horseback riding :) After the ride, they were kind enough to give us a chance to give treats to the horses. All in all, it was great experience.
