What a beautiful special place this is. Such strong energetic vortex. Beautiful mountain tops, so serene so naturally attractive and magnetic. The trees are simply magnificent. Those evergreens are everywhere. People in the neighborhood are very friendly and welcoming. I understand why this is so attractive for retirees. Just an amazing place.

Beautiful place to play & bask in nature during the winter! The views are utterly breathtaking. Gentle horizon curves hugging tall sugar pines and fir trees. Lush wilderness outlining mountain bends. If you're lucky to be there for a sunrise/sunset, you're sure in for a treat! I highly recommend stopping by Bunny Flat Trailhead (6950' elevation) for a fun morning/afternoon excursion. Most of the snow is tramped down near the parking lot; however, if you hike further up you'll find it to be wondrously fluffy. Perfect for making snow angels and skipping in. Just make sure to watch your step-- there might be holes or a bit of a drop under some patches. Bring sleds, gloves, and snowpants :)

Spectacular, Gorgeous, Inspirational, Amazing!!!! Mount Shasta is all this plus so much more!! This mountain is always a sight to behold both from a distance and up close!! Everytime we travel through this area, we cannot help but admire it. Let's face it, this MAJESTIC Beauty is hard to miss from the Interstate 5 Freeway and other roads. I look foward to returning and exploring more of this INCREDIBLE Natural Wonder!!

Take off! To the Great White North! Take off! It's a beauty way to go. I love the sight of Mount Shasta as I drive on I-5, usually on my way to or from Ashland. It's huge, white, gorgeous, and deadly. Naturalist and author John Muir said of Mount Shasta: "When I first caught sight of it over the braided folds of the Sacramento Valley, I was fifty miles away and afoot, alone and weary. Yet all my blood turned to wine, and I have not been weary since." Mount Shasta is the second highest peak in the Cascades and the fifth highest in California. Mount Shasta has an estimated volume of 85 cubic miles which makes it the most voluminous stratovolcano in the Cascade Arc. The lore of some of the Native Americans in the area held that Mount Shasta is inhabited by the spirit chief Skell who descended from heaven to the mountain's summit. Some people believe that races of sentient or spiritual beings generally considered to be Lemurians, superior to humans, live in or on Mount Shasta, or visit the mountain. Believers in the Harmonic Convergence describe Mount Shasta as one of a small number of global "power centers". Hence, Mount Shasta remains a focus of "New Age" attention and local meditation. There's is also a strong Catholic and Buddhist presence in this area. Maybe I should stop to pray the next time I pass by?

Cimbed Mt.Shast via Clear Creek route (2014/8/9, no snow). It was tough. Super hard, but I had a great view from the summit! Lucky me I had a perfect weather. Trailhead to summit was 5 miles. First 3 miles gains 2000 feet. Last 2 miles gains 5800 feet. Total 7800 feet gain with scrambling. All the way is scree. Brutal. But I loved this dangerous adventure and HUGE reward. Great experience, big achivement.

6 Stars Simply and plainly said, Mount Shasta is the pinnacle vortex of all ethereal energies on planet Earth. Whew! Now that that's out of the way, allow to me elaborate. The mountain herself and the City of Mt. Shasta has been my home away from home for over half my life. The mysticism, the natural beauty, and the extraordinary pureness of this location touched my heart and soul the moment I first visited. Every year, sometimes twice a year, I have journeyed to Mount Shasta for pilgrimage, rejuvenation, and adventure . . . and every single time I have received all that I had hoped for and more. Mount Shasta is also a haven for nature loving, serene contemplation, and magical experiences. I have received many an epiphany and answers to my prayers while calmly meditating high up the mountain or in my favorite part of Mount Shasta, Panther Meadows. There are little brooks and steams meandering through upper and lower Panther during the spring and summer as the snows continue to melt. There are campgrounds there and I have camped there before, but unfortunately people who have no idea how to respect this sacred mountain may choose to camp here and make occasional ruckus. Most of the commotion and activity on the west side of Mount Shasta occurs at a lower elevation in an area called Bunny Flat, especially when the highway up the mountain is gated off for the winter. Even here in Bunny Flat with dozens of cars all parked with scores of people running, talking, hiking, and x-country skiing about, you will feel the uniqueness of Mount Shasta. I was once married on Mount Shasta in an area called Sand Flat. I also had previously camped there for three weeks when I was going through a period of deep personal self exploration. It is very private there for the most part and there is a large clearing, made of sand, that resembles a round landing pad the size of a football field. Speaking of landing pads . . . Mount Shasta is a serious UFO convergence point. I don't think it is a matter of "believing" in extraterrestrials or their crafts used to visit Earth; it is simply a fact that they exist and are frequently seen here. For me, they are also most certainly felt. In one single Yelp review it would be impossible to tell the literally hundreds of fantastic experiences I've had on Mount Shasta and vicinity over the decades. But, it is my wish to convey that this is a sacred place, a church, a temple, a sanctuary to be sure. Mount Shasta is the name of a place that welcomes cosmic travelers and spiritual pilgrims alike. She is known to be the Heart Chakra of the Earth . . . and after one visit on any given day, your heart may be ready to open too. There is no better place for this to happen than on Mount Shasta. You may say I'm a dreamer . . . but I'm not the only one. Review 0099

    Shasta from highway 97

Mount Shasta is one of the most surreal experiences you will ever get while driving along the interstate 5 freeway. Before my last trip to Oregon, I had never heard of Mount Shasta before. After reading reviews about this place, you begin to realize that this mountain isn't just any other mountain. Apparently the center of human creation itself, Mount Shasta stands above all other landmarks in Northern California. You have to be practically sleeping in the car to not see Mount Shasta. It's completely visible along the highway. Though my friends and I didn't have a chance to actually hike up the mountain or go deep along any of the trails in the area, we were able to go into the visitor's center (basically go on the 5 then on the 97 I believe) and step onto the base of the mountain. What happened after that was completely mystical. With the clearest air and the calmest atmosphere, you feel like you've stepped into the face of heaven. I may be overhyping this place or just hopping onto the hype wagon, but I loved my short trip to Mount Shasta. I will definitely come back again and explore. Have fun and prosper,

This place is amazing!!! My fiance and I were fortunate enough to make it when there when the weather was not too hot, and there were not many people around. You can drive 7 miles up the mountain/ volcano. Along the way, you will find many pull-outs that will allow you to take in the breath taking views and photographs of your surroundings. Beyond the parking lot seven miles up, you can hike up to the peak with a permit. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to hike around Mt. Shasta. I would definately check this place out if you are in the area.

Snow capped Mt Shasta towers above the surrounding area. It has geologic and scenic features: a hot sulphur spring, seven glaciers, lava flows, waterfalls, buttes and canyons. Setting off from Bunny Flat, we saw some mountain bikers banging down a trail, with one extreme dog keeping pace. Pines are everywhere, giving way as you rise, to rocks and scree. We thought we'd gotten to our destination when we saw a glacier. Keep going though, you'll know when hit Hidden Valley. It's a huge expanse surrounded by steep snow covered walls, and outstanding views of the mountain. Fresh mountain water is available at Horse Camp on the way, where we saw a chipmunk munch down an acorn in 60 seconds.

Just plain amazing. We were her for the day it was 17° but worth the freezing beard. Cant wait to come back in June.

Mount Shasta is hypotheticaly an active volcano located at the southern end of the Cascade Range in Siskiyou County, California. The elevation is 14,179 feet, and it is the second highest peak in the Cascades and the fifth highest in California. My friend and I stopped her during our bus trip and unfortunately we didn't have a chance to actually hike up the mountain or hike any of the trail. We step onto the base of the mountain and took pictures. The snow capped stratovolcano is so beautiful. The air is clean and the atmosphere is calm. I would like to return here and explore the area.

We stopped by after eating around the area (recommend the smokehouse or bbq, stay away from the Mexican food at all costs!!) So we went to cable beach and got off and walked around and went to the lake to skip rocks and hang out as we unfortunately forgot our bathing suits. The view was so incredible, and perfect I couldn't even believe the how breathtaking it was at sunset . We skipped many rocks and even made it into a competition which I won, then I went off and found a great stump to take pictures on and unfortunately I slipped and fell on the rocks. Caution! Many rocks here so take water shoes or something with a thick bottom! Although it was pretty funny I'm still hurting haha. We saw boats on the lake and some people off to the side having a picnic and taking a dip in the lovely, warm water. All in all this was an incredible place to stop by and visit! I highly, highly, highly, HIGHLYYY recommend coming here!
