This may be my second review for this place. Sat upstairs - room was bright and comfortable we sat in the bar area and bar staff waited on us. They were friendly and attentive- did not hover. Ordered seared cod tacos and asparagus risotto with seared scallops. I have never had better risotto, it was creamy and the asparagus was plentiful and cooked just the way I like it, little bit crunchy and not at all mushy. Scallops were giant, crispy on outside and cooked through. Cod was flavorful. Portions were large- had to take 1/2 of the risotto home. read more

Such great food in edgartown! The pasta is amazing and the calamari was so yummy and crispy and I loved the fried banana peppers. Everything also came out very quickly and I would definitely return. read more

The sautéed lobster roll is worth the hype! Stick to that and the fries and you will not be disappointed. I could not believe the amount of lobster that was in there and the taste was phenomenal! My friend got the beet salad with a crab cake and was disappointed it was mainly filler and didn't recommend. We were there between lunch and dinner time and the service was nothing to rave about. Place was pretty empty but not much else was open at 4pm in the area. Go for the lobster roll! It was better than Nancy's! read more

Awesome spot for a drink and snack after wandering the town and hitting the famous lighthouse. Go upstairs and sit at the bar. They have a happy hour. Food is great. We had the tuna poke tacos and on recommendation from the awesome girl behind the bar, didn't catch her name but said she was from Serbia, who knew, the truffle risotto balls were awesome. Definitely recommend. Look forward to visiting again when in town. read more

Thank you so much Rockfish hostess. Due to lack of sleep and reschedule ferry crossing, I needed to get a pizza and salad to go back to our inn. Then I realized I had no milk in room for much needed coffee. The lovely hostess put some milk in a plastic container for me. The chicken bbq pizza was amazing. The thin crust was puffy and crisp. The golden beet salad was a nice healthy side for both of us. read more

This is listed as pets allowed but it does not allow for pets unless they are a service dog.

A must stop to grab a drink and have a great meal and good vibes. Had the bourbon blackberry purée which I was under of, but after a few sips it grew on me and finished it up. Switched to a white wine after. The clam chowder was probably the best I had all week, creamy, light, and flavorful. Oh my that Lobster Roll. 10/10, huge portion fully packed with large chucks and you can taste how fresh it is. I went with the cold version and my wife went with the sautéed hot one...both were wonderful, I'd stick with the cold. Service was good, bartender provided good insight and engaging. read more

The staff was fantastic. So pleasant and kind and welcoming. We had a large party and wanted to bring our own birthday cake. They were very accommodating and helped us bring our vision to life for the presentation. The atmosphere and waiters get high marks but the food was just good. If I could, I would give this place 3.5 stars. The chicken and pesto pasta was good but the balsamic sauce felt out of place with the pesto pasta. It was like putting salad dressing on pasta. One of the steak dishes was over cooked but that might just mean we order it medium next time instead of medium well. The pork belly ramen was okay but the pork belly itself felt a little more bacon-like than pork belly. The calamari was really good but the sauce with it was very acidic. The mussels and accompanying bread were delicious. The cod was also great and the salad with it was very fresh. The beet salad was very tasty as well. The short rib was superb and cooked perfectly. The lobster was very meaty which was appreciated. read more

We love Rockfish!! A year around establishment that has easily become a regular spot for us!! Cocktails , food and service are superb! The Food was good and fresh. They also had fun mocktails. Parked our bikes right outside. We would come again.

While visiting "The Vineyard," after perusing many streets, we decided on Rockfish. The menu just outside the entrance displayed a pretty good assortment of menu items and the interior was a bit more upscale than many of the surrounding establishments. Once inside, we were greeted and immediately seated. The server was very nice and took our drink choices. After briefly glancing at the menu, I decided upon the jumbo lobster roll. Our orders arrived in a short time and everything looked wonderful. My lobster roll was overflowing with lobster and a generous portion of fries sat alongside. It was the best lobster roll I've had to date. There are less expensive surrounding places to eat, but if you want some quality dinner in food, I recommend trying Rockfish. read more

The lobster roll was made incorrectly, but I was with a big group so I wasn't in the mood to complain. They put the butter on the roll instead of sautéing the lobster in the butter for the lobster roll. All the butter was soaked onto the roll, making it soggy, and the lobster was piping hot and just dry. The pizzas look great though & calamari was good. read more

If you're visiting MV, skip Rockfish. The food is good but unfortunately, the service seriously detracts from the experience. Our server seemed overwhelmed and treated our family with zero care or attention. It wasn't rudeness, it felt more like chaos. After observing how other tables were being handled (or not), it became clear the issue isn't the staff...it's the management. There didn't seem to be any direction or support from the front-of-house. Every person we spoke with to get help had to speak to two other people to get us answers or assist. The head manager was oblivious. The servers looked like they were doing their best to stay afloat without any coordination or backup. All in all, not a bad spot, but there are much better options close by. read more

**EAT HERE** WOW!!!! A guide on Chappaquiddick recommended Rockfish to us and we are so glad he did! We came in with low expectations tho as it seemed like just a restaurant with bar food. We were so wrong!! The food was INCREDIBLE! By far the best meal we had in Edgartown. The place is 2 stories with two bars. The wait was 45 mins to an hour and it was packed. But we were able to snag two seats at the upstairs bar. It was their last night of the Season so all of the locals were eating there. We now know why! My husband ordered the Oven Roasted Cod that came with Haricot Verts, Pine Nuts & Black Currant Salad, Citrus Beurre Blanc & Mashed Potatoes. I was so envious! This dish was so very flavorful! The Cod was flaky and tender and sweet. The Beurre Blanc was tangy and buttery. The black Currant Salad was addicting! This dish is 10/10!! I ordered the Guinness Braised Short Rib, Kale & Leek Mashed Potatoes, Crispy Leeks, with Guinness Gravy. This was savory and rich and decadent. OMG! The short rib, even tho there was no bone, was fall off the bone juicy and tender!!! The crispy Leeks set off the mashed potatoes. That Guinness Gravy is a show stopper! Just absolutely delicious! They have a wood burning pizza oven upstairs. We saw the pizzas and they did look good. They do it absolutely perfect here. I'd suggest a reservation. We will definitely eat here again and highly recommend it! read more

Needed to stop for a bite before I catch the bus back to the ferry. This place was so good! We were seated upstairs by the window with a nice view of the street. Vaso our waiter was friendly and helpful in making our selections. For an appetizer we had the poke tuna nachos it was huge. Hubby ordered the cold lobster roll which was one of the best we had! I had the cod with crumbled truffle crumbs and a salad mix. So pleased we stopped by this gem! read more

Rockfish put my wife and I into a food coma! The food and service was beyond amazing. We had the scallop asparagus risotto and the short ribs with leek mashed potatoes, but the star of the show was the truffle risotto balls! Simply to die for. The waiter stated they take the food extremely serious and it certainty showed. Thank you so much for such a joyful and satisfying experience. Can't wait to go back! read more

Great happy hour. Service was attentive food was very good. Decorated nicely for Christmas

We loved this place for a little ( or should I say big) dinner in Edgartown. I kicked it off with the Kermit Lynch Cote du Rhone which I highly recommend along with some fried cauliflower and risotto balls. I kind of expected the cauliflower to be crunchier but it was still really good and the sauce it came with was phenomenal. The risotto balls are dreamy sitting on some incredible mashed potatoes with Parmesan and truffle butter. Seriously so good. Then we got the Mac n cheese with braised short rib. Flavor was amazing, I'd almost like to see them to a larger piece of short rib on top rather than mixing it in. Then last but not least, the risotto with scallops. They were cooked perfectly and wonderful flavors as well. Service was great and food came out quickly! We would definitely come back. read more

I would just like to start off by saying this is the only place we could find that was open late during our stay in April. We first became acquainted with Rockfish when we stopped in for a few happy hour beverages on the earlier end of dinnertime. It was pretty busy but we were able to score a table next to the bar without waiting. Per one of the servers, their cocktail menu was in flux so they didn't have a few of the items listed. I ordered something with mezcal that had a smoky flavor and deep blue color. It was enjoyable but not spectacular. GF ordered "a lavender martini or something". Her review: "I don't remember it that well but I do remember that it was good". We saw the pizza on their menu and were hungry enough to split one between the two of us. It came out pretty quickly and was surprisingly good. I'm from NY and grew up eating arguably the best pizza in the world so Massachusetts has left something to be desired in that department. I might be going out on a limb here but I think it's safe to say that this is the best pizza I have had in the entire state. Service was very prompt and good. No complaints there. We decided to venture out of our hotel much later on that same day to snag a nightcap. This place was still open at around 10pm and we were able to enjoy some time there with a draught beer until heading back. The following day we also decided to quench our thirst after dinner but it was much later, around midnight. We took a walk to see if this place was still open and it WAS. Not only was it open, but it was fucking poppin'. We did notice that we were, without a doubt, the youngest (and most sober) people there. It was an excellent spot for people watching. Honestly I'm tremendously grateful that this place exists lmao. read more

If I could give a 1.5 stars I would. This place was recommended by a family friend who goes to MV every year. I wanted the best lobster roll in MV and I was told Rockfish had it. My bf and I went in around 12:30-no line, as soon as we went in a few other parties lined up behind us. We were seated immediately in the back corner. We waited a good 5-10 minutes before we were acknowledged by our server. In fact, the group of 4 people that came AFTER us got seated, greeted and even got water way before we were seen. That was upsetting. Needless to say, they ordered first, got their food first and left way before we did. I'm not sure if it's because they were short-staffed, but I did see a couple of staff just cleaning the table and standing around. Food: I ordered the sautéed buttered lobster roll. It was served in a brioche bun, which I can appreciate. It had plenty of lobster, can't complain about that. Having it in a brioche bun makes a big difference. Some places have it on a regular bun. It also comes with a side of fries. I'm a fries girl and these were not the best fries to pair with the lobster roll. It was soggy and undercooked. Ambiance: nice for any size party. Plenty of tables downstairs and upstairs. Our server was nice but I can't help but think we were treated differently from other customers. Everything took longer, even settling our bill. I just wanted to get up and hand it to our server myself at one point. Needless to say, I don't think I will be going back here. read more

Great food, quality, consistency, good value. Great drinks. This has remained a staple restaurant for our family for years.

Walked upstairs & grabbed a table by the window overlooking the street... great vibe... perfect for people watching while we waited. Our daughter had the pizza... loved it... said the crust was spot on & the flavor just worked. Our son got the lobster grilled cheese with tomato soup... absolutely devoured it... even used the pizza crust to mop up the last of the soup. My wife ordered the beet salad... fresh, balanced... & we split the fish sandwich. One of the best fried fish sandwiches I've had anywhere... crispy without being greasy... flavorful fish... paired with great fries. Went down perfectly with a glass of Sancerre. Comfortable setting, good pace... everything just felt easy... but still elevated. We'd go back without hesitation. read more

We went here in February and this place is still dishing out the good food. We both had lobster rolls which were $30 each, which is reasonable. They give you plenty of lobster rolls. My one critique was that the fries were good but they're shoestring fries and I wish they had been thick cut. The bar hosts a full selection of domestic and local draught beer as well as mixed drinks. There is a wood fired pizza oven that we will try next. read more

During our stay in MV, we had one of the best meals at Rockfish. We noticed the nice social distancing setup for the restaurant, where every other table was blocked. We got a nice booth with comfy cushions. We decided on the mushroom and sausage pizza and the wings....You could say, oh well, these are just standard fare...but OMG, the taste of our food was DELICIOUS.... We could see the pizza oven from our table and it was hot spitting out pizzas during our entire time at the restaurant.... The pizza was very very very delicious....the crust had a nice thin crispy texture with a great light flavor....the sauce and the toppings tasted very fresh and homemade....the sausage had a nice kick to it, without being too spicy. The wings were also wonderful, meaty and flavorful. Do yourself a favor and check it out next time you are in Edgartown... read more

Had to go in because other places were closed and we were starving. The owner was in the house and he is beyond being the lovingest "bad boy" in town. He is shamelessly proud of his stupid good food and coyingly professional and playful staff. Seriously. The guy is so full of himself he doesn't have ONE bar. HE HAS TWO! Beautifully stocked and tastefully laid out, you can be loud and obnoxious downstairs, or classy and lush upstairs. Their calamari took the prize during this visit. Plump, juicy, crispy. I'll tell you what they were not... GREASY. Good food, great people, lovely vibe. Worth bumping into this place, and telling the owner that his attitude is shameless... serving stupid good food with the nicest disposition and chest puffing pride. Jeeze... And I thought people on the vineyard were supposed to be stuck up, not wise assed! Way to go people! read more
