If you like, high prices, small portions and service with an attitude, then Rockfish is the place for you! I went there with my family for lunch last week. My wife and I ordered the lobster roll while my 8 year old son ordered the kid's grill cheese. Now I understand that this is Edgartown and it is the high summer season so I expect that prices are going to be a bit on the high side. What I didn't expect was a lobster roll that had very little lobster meat. It looked like a lobster roll from McDonalds that cost $8. For my $23 dollars at Rockfish, I got a McDonalds lobster roll with the un-pleasantries of a jaded waitress on the side. Now about that waitress: the grill cheese for my son came to our table burnt. How do you mess up grill cheese? It's 2 pieces of bread and cheese. My assumption is that "chef" went overboard on "grill" part. Anyway, when we brought this up to our waitress, she looked at us as if we were returning Poulet Rôti that was hand crafted by Julia Child herself. After some convincing (we literally had to ask her if she agreed that the grill cheese was burnt) our truculent waitress reluctantly brought the grill cheese back to the kitchen where I am assuming she conveyed to the kitchen staff that a) the dish was burnt and b) she hates her job. The long and short of it is we didn't really have a pleasant dining experience. We left Rockfish with empty stomachs and empty wallets. For anyone reading the other reviews, these may turn out to be empty promises. read more

The drinks were great (awesome sip of sunshine beer on tap!!). The food (beef capriccio and Greek egg (take on Scottish egg)) was out of this world. The hostess was super friendly and explained to us (tourists) that there were two bars and passed appetizers were being served downstairs. Thanks for a great visit!!! read more

Absolutely loved RockFish! Live here all summer and finally tried it this past weekend! Great service and great food! The Brussel sprout app is to die for. Lobster flatbread and the filet were great too. Will definitely be back! read more

This was my first time dining with Rockfish and oh my was it tasty. I havent had that much seafood on the island and this place really just hut the spot. I ordered the Fried Oysters, Clams, Swordfish with salsa on top of potato puree. Absolutely delicious. Simple as that. read more

Locals recommended this place to us and it was well worth it. Service & meals were terrific. Jump into the brussel sprouts.

We arrived a few minutes prior to our reservation and were seated right away. We opted to sit in the upstairs bar area and it was perfect. The bartender who helped us was very personable and gave us a little history on the food which helped us make some great choices. The food was fantastic. We had buffalo cauliflower as an appetizer which was incredible. I had the burrito which was huge and very yummy and my husband had the seared scallops over rossitto. Fantastic find! read more

This was the worst restaurant meal I've had in ages. It was extremely loud (downstairs) with 2 different sports events and music on top of that. The meal took over 40 min. to come, or I would have returned my steak as cooked to death and dried out. The grilled asparagus were tough and fibrous on the ends. My partner had swordfish which he described as tasteless as cardboard. The service was personable but it doesn't make up for the terrible food . The prices were certainly on a par with many other area restaurants, but the food was definitely sub-par. read more

Great food and great service. Family friendly, not too loud but still hopping. Highly recommended.

We arrived just as they opened last week, about 5:30. Of course the place was empty but good refurbishing of an old spot so enjoyed seeing the new design without a crowd. We returned again this week as the service is great and stone fire for a yummy flat bread on the menu- something to check out. Handsome bar upstairs with windows everywhere. read more

I am at Rockfish now so delicious I had to write! This is my first review and first time eating at Rockfish. I had the salmon and risotto...delicious! Hubby had surf and turf, he highly recommends it. We have seen this restaurant turnover a few times and this owner is by far the best at both bar drinks and food menu. Got to go, just about to have desert! read more

See all

My fiancé and I came here for lunch and it was so good we came back for dinner! We started with Sam at the bar. She was so friendly and made us amazing cocktails. The ambiance is fresh and fun! Lobster roll and fried oysters for lunch we were so impressed that later that day after walking through Edgartown and seeing the sights to go back and have dinner there! That was the best decision we made our whole trip. We had the most amazing waitor, Victor, upstairs where you can smell the wood burning open fire the aromas are out of this world. We had the scallop and risotto dish which was absolute perfection, then the tuna with some kind of pasta that was again delicious and finally the steak. Can not say enough about this place and am so happy we made the decision to come here twice in one day!! Culinary dream come true. Thank you Anthony, you've really outdone yourself this time!! read more

Rockfish - Scallop risotto - Pizza Near Me - Edgartown, Massachusetts

The food is amazing. Highly recommend going. It's says three price symbols but it's really not that bad. Staff is kind and food is amazing

Let me start by saying the meal was delicious. I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken, large portions as well. My wife had grilled halibut, amazing! My cousins steak special was bit too sweet w special sauce on it but cooked perfectly. My brother had scallops, magnifique. My mojito had no mint in it but was tasty and unique, and strong. Service was fast and very attentive. Price was a bit steep but we knew that going in. Was it worth it, yes! read more

Went to Rockfish last night with my boyfriend, who happens to be a chef, for our weekly date night. Food tasted okay but later that night after we got home he started to get the worst food poisoning ever. He ordered the burger and a draft beer, he simply wants me to post this in hopes of the owner or Chef seeing it. read more

I ate there last week with a large group. It's so nice inside, I love the design. We had the most amazing meal. All three courses were perfect and our server Jamie was so great. I would give more starts if I could. It's a must read more

My husband and I went to Rockfish for our twenty-fifth anniversary dinner. He had eaten there before and was highly enthusiastic about the swordfish. We both ordered it. In fact it was not only carefully selected, astonishingly fresh, and cooked to juicy perfection--along with the lightly braised cauliflower--but it turned out to be one of the most delicious dinners I've ever had in my life. (Note: we live in the foodie town of Portland, Maine.) Evan, our waitress, was friendly and perfectly attentive. The window-side seating was romantic, with lights twinkling on the pedestrian passage below us. It was about the best evening we could have imagined. read more

We happened on this restaurant by accident, but could not have been more pleased!! The food was excellent, the atmosphere was great and the staff was very accommodating! You must try the grilled NY sirloin! Also the Scallops! We will most definitely be back!! read more

I only write reviews on really shitty places. lolol the stuck up hostess/ waitress/ owners at this one should prob quit their job cus apparently they don't realize they are working at a pub and not the ritz carlton. the food is not as good as the reviews say too i wonder how much % off coops they give to people who write good reviews for them. Go to the shanty down the street and get a damn fried corndog its prob better food and quicker service. Hell go to the damn shell station up the street and get a Hershey's chocolate bar cus this place blows read more

Service was great, food was delicious but took long to get to the table (30+ minutes). We sat downstairs, it was noisy but the calm atmosphere and friendly staff made up for it. Will definitely be back. read more

My family and I randomly spotted this place the other night when we were walking around Edgartown and thought we'd give it a try despite the fact it wasn't on our concierges reco list. We are so we glad we did because the food was very tasty! We tried the Brussel sprout appetizer and this was pretty good - only disappointment was that the sprouts were a little softer than we prefer. I had the chopped salad which was delicious and then my husband and I shared the lobster flatbread which was fantastic! It had the right mix of everything - lobster, corn, avocado, tomatoes, etc. The service was also excellent. Our appetizer and salad came out fast as well as the the flatbread. All in all we were glad we made this selection and would definitely come back again. read more

Our host at our guest house recommended this restaurant! Beautiful place and the food was DELICIOUS! Surf & turf is a must try, shall not disappoint. read more

Was down on the Vineyard about a month ago and first night went here. This was definitely a great restaurant and the best one on my visit to the island. First from the time I walked in until I left the employees bartender, waitresses, chefs, and owner were all very nice, welcoming, polite, and good with recommendations. First I tried the drink I forget what it was called but was a cocktail with their own spin on fireball and mixed with downeast cider. I am not a fan of fireball but this was a very good combination. For the food I started with the steak tar tar, it was amazing and the french fries with truffle oil were amazing. For the main course I the brisket, which was a tough choice based on the menu, and it was amazing. The brisket was not overcooked and dry, it was a very flavorful brisket. Overall this was an amazing meal and restaurant. I will definitely be going back when I return to the vineyard. read more

Really appreciate the great service and the wonderful food. We got there right before closing and they were sooooo nice. Everyone treated us as if there was plenty of time. Big portions and the drinks are awesome, too. read more

We were here on a Saturday night so perhaps that may have had an impact on the quality of the food. It was very mixed. The atmosphere is fun and casual and the service was good. Food just okay. The drinks were subpar for a pub. The Greek salad and the wings were very good. The main courses were not. Lobster flatbread was totally dry fried chicken was burnt. Just not sure the new chef hype really is accurate if you are looking for a good meal. There are lots of other places to have a better meal. read more

Phew! I was starting to think everyone on this island was a snot. Great experience- very tasty food and fantastic service. We sat in the bar downstairs and ordered the pumpkin ravioli and chicken on risotto to split- both very good. Service was wonderful- best we have had so far- I'm now a man-bun believer. Dessert we got the turtle cheesecake- also delicious (potentially a little dry but perfectly salted)! Atmosphere was casual- had the games on Sunday night- with 90s music...Sublime is on right now! read more

the food is awesome! the staff is great ! if yelp offered a six star system, they would earn that sixth star. go here if you're downtown edgartown. place is great! read more

We have been coming to the vineyard for years and this by far was one of the best meals we have had. We are a family of four and we had the tuna, scallops, and filet. All were delicious and perfectly cooked. The service was equally as wonderful as the food definitely a must on the island and we look forward to coming back! read more

Most creative / well executed cuisine I've had at MV. Like most other reviewers we really enjoyed the starters and entrees. Brussel sprouts and cauliflower starters were so deeply flavored even die hard meat lovers will like it. Drinks were good and impressive wine selection. read more

We had an awesome dinner here! The steak my Diane got was superb. The Brussels sprouts were great and the marguerita flatbread was too. Zach's service was beyond expectations. read more

Rockfish is an amazing American food restaurant that provides 5 star fine dining service and food at an extremely reasonable price, especially by island standards. Their staff is professional, well-educated and can guide any palate through their ever-changing menu! Their executive chef creates the menu and takes passion in each dishes' preparation. Don't go to Edgartown without dining at Rockfish! read more

We showed up 15 minutes before the kitchen opened, with a energized infant for an early-bird special. The staff could not have been nicer and accommodated us, my son impressed the three girls on the host stand and high fived the waiter. The food service (understandably for the first check of the night) was excellent and the quality was good too. Nice twist on the poutine with sausage added. Thumbs up! read more

This was a little written about restaurant in Edgartown but we were beyond pleasantly surprised!! Great wine/beer list and great service. The chef (let's just say she was bad ass) was on display in front of the dining room and was amazing. creative & efficient our flat bread, tacos & special dessert were awesome. Highly recommend after a few drinks on an outdoor terrace somewhere in Edgartown. read more

Love their brick oven pizza. Service is great, prices are typical for the island. Loved the seafood so much, and can't wait to come back next summer. read more

hands down the absolute best fried chicken my entire group had ever had! we were talking about it for days. we will definitely be back.

Walked in at last minute after the 4th of July parade and they accompanied our party of 5 foodies with low expectations. That all changed once we tasted the Brussel sprout and chopped salad appetizers. Sprouts were amazing and the salad dressing was just the right amount. The waitress brought us tastes of wines when we couldn't decide. We each ordered a different entree and all were great. The Sea Bass special on corn and polenta was perfected grilled and seasoned great. The swordfish with spaghetti cooked in Chablis with garlic Parmesan, red pepper and arugula was great as were the sea scallops in a fresh pea risotto. The flatbread entree was good but the least interesting one we ordered. The strawberry shortcake biscuit was very good but not great. The brownie with fudge walnut topping was just ok. The brownie cake was dry. Service was perfect and wine good, although selection was limited. Overall, best meal we had on the island all week. read more

good food at good prices, served well. not a lot of fish on the menu for ap lace called "rockfish" but the pork tacos and chicken entree were really really good. thank you for a great meal! read more
