Horrible customer service!!! I came in on 12/13 to get a oil change. I booked the day before online for the next day at 1pm. As I was on my way I called the store to double check. My appointment was booked correctly. The young lady on the Phone, who answered said yes. I arrived right at one. I walked in and saw two receptionist. I went to the receptionist that was not on the phone and seemed not busy at the moment. I was told that the only person that could help me was the gentleman on the Phone, since oil changes were in his department. She told me that he was on the phone, and that he would be with me as soon as he was done with the Phone call. I understand that there are phone calls that need to be handled and other customers who need to be handled as well. I stood and waited to be helped with for 20 minutes. I understand that there are circumstances such as a phone call that can make things be delayed, but at the very least I could have been told at least a "I'm so sorry for the delay. I'll be with you shortly. Thank you for your patience. " SOMETHING!!! But I got told nothing and stood there for 20 minutes. I just left because I could not wait anymore, and I am currently moving from Oxnard to Lompoc. I was hoping to at least get my oil change out of the way.I decided to leave because 20 minutes is just ridiculous!!! I went ahead and called rocket town to tell them I was upset that I had to wait that long, and possibly try to book another appointment. But the same young lady. Just told me "He is the only one who can help you." I KNOWWWW THATTTT!!! But again, as someone who works in customer service, you should at least apologize and find a solution for a upset customer . I originally posted a low rated review on Google about this situation after this happened. That same day that I posted my Google review. I got a response from rocket Town apologizing for the situation and proceeded to say that I could call in and ask for Wes to possibly get a employee price on a oil change and rebook an appointment. Which at first I was hesitant, but I wanted to give my new local Honda dealer a chance. The following day 12/14 I called and asked for Wes twice. The first time no one answered, and I left a voicemail. I called again and someone answered, and they informed me that Wes was not in and he'll be in tomorrow. I proceeded to ask if they could possibly just assist me to go ahead and book an appointment for my oil change. The other person on the phone told me. "I can't help you with that. That is another department. " I understood and ended the call and went ahead booked another appointment online for December 15th. The morning of the 15th. I called again, hoping to speak to Wes. The person who answered the phone hung up on me as soon as I asked for him. I also want to preface that the reason why I was so upset about this situation is because I had to go to work in Santa Barbara on Sunday the 14th and I had to go to LA on the Monday the 15th. So it was urgent to me to get my oil change. I even left my car with my boyfriend and switched cars with him for the long commuting I had for the next 2 days. So he could take my car for the second oil change appointment I made here since he didn't have work on Monday December the 15th. But again, this dealer just is full of disappointment. I went ahead and booked a oil change for the Honda in Santa Maria for Monday the 15th and got helped with immediately. I will never be returning here. Do NOT buy a car from Rockettown Honda in Lompoc. I created a Yelp account specifically for this review. This is how sales manager Wes Hofner and sales associate Steve treated a single, working mom of 2 kids. I bought a used 2025 Honda Pilot 2.5 months ago that came with aftermarket crossbars. Sales guy Steve wanted to detail the car, fill it with gas and deliver it to my house. "If anything is wrong with the car, I'll make it right". Great! Got the car and noticed a whistling/static noise when driving at highway speeds. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Since the car is still under warranty and I live 1.5 hrs away from Lompoc, I called Rockettown Honda to see if I could take it to a local dealership and it be covered. They said yes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Turns out the crossbars weren't installed correctly and was causing the noise. 1. I wasn't provided the keys to the crossbars at the time of purchase. They later mailed me keys that didn't work. I had to take it to a locksmith to get re-keyed. They reimbursed me $41-- cool. (shout out to Melissa in the parts department for making sure I got reimbursed). 2. Per Rockettown Honda's advice, took it to a local Honda dealership to get the issue fixed, assuming it would be covered under warranty-- it was not due to it being an aftermarket product. Since the crossbar screw was stripped, it couldn't be reinstalled correctly either. Now I'm out $200 plus the cost of new crossbars. 3. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Finally got ahold of Wes Hofner, sales manager, who was -- well, I'll let you decide.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After catching him up to speed on the situation and requesting reimbursement for the $200 I had to pay out of pocket to get the crossbars removed and new crossbars be sent to me. He refused. Sometimes a place can be good, sometimes it can be bad, and sometimes it can be indifferent. We never went over 80 mph. He also asked if it was okay to make a sharper turn to test the handling and the sales person emphatically said "yes, just don't crash the car." Our salesperson even went so far as to say that he used to drive a sports car and would routinely drive 145 mph, especially when he "ran from the cops." Anyway, the test drive went relatively well and when we returned to the dealership he went inside to fetch the keys to a second car. [[HIGHLIGHT]]An angry manager came out, red in the face, claiming that we made our salesperson wildly uncomfortable and fear for his safety. He said that we needed to leave at once.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I explained to him and the owner that we politely asked to test the pickup and maneuverability of the car and the salesperson agreed. He admitted that maybe it was an issue with the training of his staff but insisted that we leave the premises. I called Rocket Town Honda for pricing on a new car. I advised them I was pre approved with my credit union, had cash in hand and a flawless credit score. Update: Just found out the car they sold me that had supposedly done a full inspection on was a car where the engine was swapped out with a different one that doesn't even go to this car. The computer was tampered with. The coolant hoses are bypassing major components of the engine. Brakes were wrong pads for car. The wiring is missing two spots in engine. The throttle body is wrong one and is broken. They sold me basically a piece of junk that wasn't inspected. Please do not buy a used car at this place. read more

Rocket Town Honda gave us a very cooperative, considerate, and collaborative experience that we will not soon forget. We needed a new car for our growing family, and we were especially interested in a CR-V to fulfill this need. We were told to go to Sunset Honda in San Luis Obispo. We were told that they had great service and would help us purchase the car we needed at the price we could afford. However, their add-ons and pre-installed gizmos were mandatory... in other words, we didn't have a choice as to whether we wanted them or not. Why is this a problem? Because Sunset's add-ons shot up the price of the CR-Vs by $3,000-$5,000! We simply couldn't afford the vehicle. But at Rocket Town, they generally did not do that to their vehicles. We are glad that we went there because Ray and Steve (customer sales representative and sales manager, respectively) really went out of their way for us. Ray was really good at communication and staying in touch. He had an eagerness about him that was not overwhelming to us. Steve seemed to really want to help us achieve a fair and equitable transaction. Together, they found us precisely the car we were looking for. There are many local Honda dealerships with good reputations, and you may feel that you should follow advice and visit them first. But I recommend give the "little guy" your attention. They just might come through for you like Rocket Town did for us. read more

Where do I begin, I bought a brand new Honda Civic from them in 2021. I told them I wanted my license plates transferred from my current vehicle to my new vehicle, and they assured me that they could do this. When I received my vehicle, with its temporary plates, I received my permanent plates in the mail but they were not transferred over. When I returned to Honda to have them fix this, they assured me they could. But of course they contacted me two days later and stated that they couldn't. I then went to AAA and they took care of it in 15 minutes. I paid for rear USB plugs, so that my passengers could charge their phones in the back seat. Seat. They said that they would contact me when the part came in but they did not have it in stock. They never did. Recently. I went back to them and asked them to fix this and they told me, " that it was too long ago and there's nothing they could do. So they basically took money from me but did not give me the product that I paid for, which means they stole from me. My stepfather went in to trade in his Honda CRV for a new CRV. Firstly, they didn't want to haggle with him and it took a few weeks for them to reach out to my stepfather and agree to a price that both my stepfather and the dealership could agree to. When he went back to finalize some of the paperwork he told them that the check that he wrote them hadn't cleared the bank yet. They basically lost his check and had to find it. This dealership has terrible customer service, it is not willing to go above and beyond to make things right when they make these errors. You're better off going to Honda of Santa Maria. read more

While I was able to find a car I was happy with, it was no thanks to the sales associates. They have such high turnover, that the "senior" of the sales reps helping us was there less than two weeks and was being shadowed by a person on his first day. Neither knew anything about the vehicle (entertainment, system updates, capabilities, etc). Then the owner came to tell us how amazing things like the adaptive cruise control was (this year didn't include this feature, which I only figured out after the fact). We purchased the car outright, never received our plates, and the dealership is doing nothing to help us in the situation now that the tags are expired. Completely unprofessional for such a large purchase. They even told us the car we were trading in was junk and would be sent to another dealership. It was on the lot the following day for over twice what they paid us (I don't care as much about the value as the fact that they said they would have no ability to put it on their own lot, a flat out LIE). In short, the owner didn't know about the vehicle, the sales reps didn't know anything about the vehicle, and now follow-up experience means they will not receive my family's positive word of mouth or future business. read more

Wife went in for an oil change on a 2021 Lexus UX (0W-16: 5 Quarts) and was charged $130. The car has a 4 cylinder engine with similar access as our 2020 Toyota 4Runner (0W-20; 6.6 Quarts) which Lompoc Honda has also serviced and charges $89.00 Apparently she was charged the $50 premium because its a "Luxury" model. Saturday, we drove from Bakersfield to Rocketown Honda in Lompoc 2 1/2 hours 149 miles to purchase a certified pre owned 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback. This was my (19) year old sons first car buying experience. First, they tacked on an additional 10k & tried to sell us the warranty the car already came with. Thank goodness I was there and made them REMOVE ALL THAT CRAP (dishonest) My son removed taped registration in right corner and the windshield was severely chipped. My son spent his hard earned money to be cheated or conned by this act of deception. I've bought MANY vehicles in my lifetime & NEVER experienced SUCH DECEPTIVE practice. Who & why would purposefully hide that by covering it up? Certified Pre Owned Honda's are suppose to go through inspection process. Clearly they didn't care. When we test drove the car there were stickers hiding the crack as well. Thank goodness I took photos & can prove the car windshield was cracked before the car left the lot. But, when they took the car back it should have been brought to our attention. Instead it was purposely hidden/covered up by the registration slip. Much to my son's surprise when he removed the tape he was distressed! His new car was damaged. In addition, there appears to be some sort of black screen or electrical issue with the instrument system. I've contacted the dealership they offered to repair but, the trust is gone. Plus it's 2 1/2 hours away. Rockettowns deception & character is tarnished We don't trust them & won't be returning there. That windshield crack was hidden with sells stickers then the registration paper. We filed a complaint with American Honda & they agreed with us. I'll be taking the car to our mechanic to have the car diagnosed at Rocketowns expense. if there's any issues & something electrical needs repaired it will be repaired by our local dealer where I've bought several previous cars from. Went in to check out a newly-acquired 2017 Accord Hybrid posted on their website. TL;DR: DON'T SHOP HERE. *Two stars for being clean, and relatively professional Summary: Price was over KBB value, Agent provided false/misleading information about the car, lazy repairs were made, and dealer refused to negotiate and insisted on selling at $3k over KBB value. Resolution: Left the dealership, and found the exact car with 10k less miles, no body damage, and nearly $3k less expensive. Had "better deal" shipped to my door that week. Recommendation: DON'T SHOP HERE. Price over KBB: As pictured, a '17 Accord EX-L with 30k miles in "good" condition is NOT valued at $23k. Dealer argued that the overcharge was because a white '17 Accord Hybrid is "rare;" I had to keep myself from laughing. Lazy Repairs: Exterior damage was on both bumpers, on some of the doors, curb rash on all wheels, and the back-up camera was broken off and loose. Interior damage included several stains on the visors and a tarnished headliner. Agent said he'd get the car through the body shop for repairs, and the detailer to fix the interior issues. Made an appointment, spent an hour at the dealership and found the following: To detail some of their "repairs": - Road rash still present on front bumper, simply spray-painted over; rear bumper damage remained untouched. - Rear view camera was placed to look repaired, but fell loose with a light touch. - Headliner and visors were still dirty - Rims still had curb rash False/Misleading Information: - Dealer verbally stated that the car was a privately owned vehicle. CarFax showed it as a "fleet lease;" agent had to be challenged for him discuss the vehicles status - Dealer did not use KBB or Edmunds for their pricing; insisted that I was underestimating the vehicle and that my quotes were invalid No negotiations: -Their motto is "no haggle". They mean it! Unfortunately, that also means they expect you to pay inflated asking prices and refuse to negotiate. Even though this car had damage on every side, each rim face was curb-rashed, and had a dirty headliner I was still willing to buy it. They insisted on $23k. I hope this review helps someone. In January 2024, my daughter test drove a CR-V Sport L Hybrid in San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria. Neither dealership would give her a reasonable offer because of all of the add-ons to the MSRP. We called around to many other dealerships but did not have any success until.... we called Rocket Town Honda in Lompoc. We really hit the jackpot when we connected with Vlad at Rocket Town. Vlad and I negotiated the deal over the phone and he held the car until we could get there. Wow! I was so impressed. As it turned out, Vlad is the owner, so he had us work with Edwin (salesman) to complete the deal. We were very impressed when Vlad insisted that Edwin bring the car out of detailing so that my daughter could see the car before signing any paperwork. In this day and age, it really means a lot when someone is so ethical and puts the customer first. He honored his word and the transaction was seamless! If I could give a 0 starts I would, my brother went to this Honda because he's searching for his new car, he's a first time buyer and because I have a Honda Pilot and have worked for Honda before I told him he could never go wrong with a Honda, so he wanted to come by and get a Honda Civic he saw on their website for 26K so I told him yes this is an amazing deal go for it, so he goes without me because unfortunately I was busy but I did explain to him some of this salespeople tactics, I have purchased vehicles before and know how the process goes. So my poor brother comes to this shit show dealer hoping he would get a good deal, already had that civic and price on lockdown now I do understand sometimes there will be taxes and some fees added when purchasing a new vehicle but never in my life did I imagine this people would take advantage of my brother, just because he was a first time buyer they thought they could start adding all this extra bs on the purchase agreement and they didn't think he would catch on, when he was in the process of researching and looking at options I prepared him very well and explained the process step by step. So the car online is listed for 26K, online they even offered a much lower option when you input your info online, they promise to unlock the price but they don't they have to call you, anyways I would like for someone to explain to me how does a car that costs 26K MSRP go from that to 40K dollars!???? That is INSANE!!!!! And they didn't even ask my brother if he wanted to add anything additional to the purchase agreement they just went ahead and added everything they wanted to add to this purchase without my brothers permission. They had a $2000 mark up to the MSRP for no reason they added some paint insurance that we don't need and they added two other things that I had no idea what they were. So that raised a huge red flag and after that, I told my brother to just bounce it's not worth to deal with people like this. All they worry about is making their commission check and not what the customer wants. I am extremely disappointed with this experience and we ended up going to Toyota got a brand new 2023 Toyota Camry for 33K!!! They went ahead and worked with us and listened to what my brother wanted and needed, that's how you do business and not scam people because you think they don't know how the process works so thankfully I prepared my brother for these type of people and glad he didn't get scammed by this store and their tactics, so disappointing. Review for the service center: I always go to the Honda dealerships in the area to get my car serviced. I'm glad there was one near the military base! Overall, everyone was super friendly. My advisor, Eric, and owner were awesome and welcoming. I made an appointment online, which was quick and easy. I had an appointment at 8am on a Wednesday for an oil change and tire rotation and I was out of there by 9am. They also washed my car! They also have a few amenities when you get your car serviced. There's a free shuttle if you don't want to wait there. If you wait there, they have two large full body massage chairs! There's a tv, fire place, and refreshments like coffee and tea. You also have the option to leave your car keys in the drop box if you don't have time to go during business hours. The best part of my visit was meeting Koda. I think he may be the executive assistant to the owner. He's super friendly, attentive and just brightens up your day. He's also a golden doodle :) read more

Worst experience of my life. Went to rocket town Honda to trade in my civic for a prologue touring model. They only had a demo that they couldn't sell due to it being a new model and want people to test drive the vehicle. They said that they would have some in transit right now and should be here with in the next couple days. I'm okay how would that work with my trade in. They give me the run down how it works if you trade in your vehicle early and want to trade it for another Honda. I'm like okay sounds good because I've always wanted an ev was planing to trade it in anyways when my lease was up. I told Jona was the salesmen that was helping me and my fiancé out. Show me some numbers and if it works then let's make it happen. Well first they only put my car as fair, but it has low miles less than 24k for almost 3 yrs old normal wear and tear. My fiancé asked him why it's not good or excellent. Jona was like well excellent only for brand new still on the lot, and good it pretty much doesn't exist, so we're like okay. He said they are already giving me more on my trade cuz the paper said 18020 and they were giving me 18500 for it. Jona showed me some numbers based off good credit score. The payment but he's like we still need to run your credit just to confirm. Jona comes back was like oh your payment went down dollar lol. As the finance people were drawing up the paperwork my fiancé was talking to the owner and I guess the owner isn't from California but he owns this one and one in Chicago. My fiancé was like don't sign anything yet. We tell jona like hey my fiancé wants to test drive a car and he's like what there's not going be a deal now!? That shoulda been the first red flag because of his poor attitude. He suggested why doesn't she go with the owner and I go back to office and sit and sign the paperwork. While I was sitting down in jona office I guess the owner Vladimir was telling my fiancé that to get my car Honda certified it's going take like 2k to get it to Hondas standard and that they were going sell my car between 23-25k. While he's telling her the actual process I'm sitting there and Jona like ready I'm like I'm going wait for my fiancé . He's like what so there's not a deal anymore, I thought we had a deal, I'm going get in trouble and they're going to fire me if you dont sign. My fiancé finally comes back sign some papers. I still kept my car because they haven't provided me good or services yet. I haven't taken possession of the prologue yet due to it still being in transit. It's Tuesday now still haven't received the prologue and no updates on delivery. That day my fiancé and I was in San Luis Obispo and she wanted to test drive the Honda CRV hybrid since we didn't get to do that at rocket Honda because we showed up 90 mins before closing. I signed papers with them and took possession of the prologue right then and there. Even though I still had my car at my house because we drove up in my fiancé car. The following day I called up Lompoc Honda of the situation. Asked the receptionist to transfer me to the general manager and she just transferred me to a manager. The finance manager Dave picked up said he couldn't find my contract. I didn't have my contract with them because they never gave me a copy. He'll give me a call back. Well someone called me back but it wasn't him it was a female the director of sales and she's like you signed us a contract and your car is actually that's my car because borrower agreement. If you don't give us the car back We'll have to call the cops. I'm like okay let me call SLO and I hang up because she's acting like a Karen. I call slo while my fiancé is getting hold of a lawyer. 15 mins later Steve calls me which is the sales manager because they apparently don't have a General Manager. They need that car buy the end of the day or they will be calling the cops on and report it stolen. Even though the contract wasn't valid until I took possession of the prologue from them. I told him I'll drop it off at 530pm. SLO tells me to drive up the car and that they'll handle the situation and what they're doing and threatening you is not right. 530 comes around and Steve calls me asking for the car and I told him moving forward he can contact my attorney gave him the number and the GM of Sunset Honda, and he hangs up super fast and that was the end of that experience. read more

My son went in to inquire about prices of the new cars after receiving an email in all caps about $1000 under MSRP, amazing finance rates etc.... Anyway, the car he was interested in was only available with mandatory add-ons of Paint Treatment for $1400, and Security GPS tracker for $1400...Plus an additional dealer mark-up of $2000. When asked about taking off these add-ons we were told they were mandatory, they would not sell the car without them!!! And, we were told, "If you don't buy the car, someone else will" I miss the previous owners of this dealership. read more

Slooooooow. Spent 2 and a half hours waiting for a simple oil change and coolant flush and we were one of the first customers there. It seems to me they were doing fuck-all in the back. Were they Googling what needed to be done or how to do it? Waste of my valuable time. I've had this service done before at a different shop and it didn't take near as long. They also try to nickel and dime you for services not needed. An example was that they were saying that my brake pads needed changing out. My brake pads were recently changed out. I know they were still good because We don't drive my car hard or ride the brakes at all the pads would not degenerate that quickly. I purchased a 2024 Kia Sportage that puts Honda to SHAME! Honda's technology looks like a 1980 DOS operating system (remember the black & green screens) Do yourself a favor and consider KIA 100,000 10 year warranty, free oil changes etc. and real integrity. All Honda had to do was correct their mistake that cost me thousands by replacing unnecessary parts and missing the problem completely. Our money talks. The service department sucks big time. Nobody is friendly. I wish Ray S. still worked there but he left several years ago and ever since then the service has been shitty from the service department. The labor cost more than the part did. When I asked if there was a chance to get a discount on the labor and I was told this is a hard job to do. Also another pet peeve is don't mess with my radio. It's really annoying when you get in your car there is no sound. Someone had it set to their iPod and not FM radio as I did when I checked my car in.I have been interested in buying a 2023 Honda hrv but after today I will be taking my business else where. He tried to sell me on his used two-year-old CR-V with $21,000 miles on it for $54,000, saying it was worth more than the cost of a brand new 2023 CR-V with similar upgrades.
