Horrible young woman working there. Drove 45 minutes to come here with family. Sole purpose to buy a lot of pop, candy and novelties for selves and gift bags. She wouldn't give us a box to put the bottles in as we selected them. Made us use baskets so the glass bottles rolled around. Sat the baskets of bottles on counter so we could shop and load up new baskets with candy and novelties to make gift bags. She proceeded to tell us we needed to carry the baskets of pop bottles around with us while we shopped. Making our hands full. She couldn't put them on the open empty table behind the register because that was "her work area" and we couldn't put them to the side in the back out of the way because people could trip over it. There was 2 other people in the store...up front. Was told we could pay for the pop, leave and put in car, then come back and shop for more items. Nope... not coming back. You lost over $500 business this visit alone. We have been coming here for many years, hence knowing to come today for what we needed. Every time we've been here in the past, especially busy summer season and during festivals, the people working here were overly helpful, friendly and would always TAKE our full baskets and put on that table behind the counter so we could get empty ones and shop for more. They would give us 4 pack bottle holders or cartons to put pop bottles in as well. So I know everything out of her mouth was a lie. Will not be coming back. You need to review the work ethic and customer service skills with the people you hire. I'm one that never complains about things and chaos a lot up to "having a bad day" but this was ridiculous. read more

They had a ton of candy that reminded me of my childhood like candy cigarettes, Cry baby's, chicklets, lemonheads, space ice cream, jaw breakers- just to name a few... they also had items that are currently carried in stores like hersheys and butterfingers and I believe lilys chocolate bar... the only problem is everything is super expensive. Like the candy that is still currently carried in stores in marked up almost 3xs. I get they need to make profit somehow but I rather go to Target or Walmart to get me a cookies and cream Hershy's bar than pay $5+ I spent $4+ on gold coins!?! I love this place! LOVE IT! They have the largest selection of Root Beer, and craft soda's I've ever seen in one place. Every time I've gone the staff/owner has been extremely helpful. He's made suggestions and recommendations. First off, take advantage of bulk purchasing. The first time I went I bought 24 bottles of assorted root beers/sodas .The second time I bought 12 bottles. Both times my girlfriend only bought six. When we compared the price difference between what we paid, there was a noticeable savings. Second. Not all bottles/sodas are the same price. There are multiple factors that place into the price per bottle. Just know that they still apply to the bulk discount. The owner/employee will explain how it works to you. I don't want to attempt to do it and misspeak. Third. They have their own brand of sodas. So not only can you get brands from across the nation, but you can get some specially made for them. fourth... go back often, they have a steady rotation of stock so something might not be there one time, but will be the next. I've long been a huge proponent of small business and the little guy that sticks his neck out in the retail world to offer something unique. Soda and candy can be found everywhere, but it's the brands here that you likely won't find anywhere else. We don't eat much candy but we do enjoy an occasional, rarely found soda. Rocket fits the bill for a wide selection of soda that you've never heard of, less tried. The flavors and bottlers they offer range from common to almost unique. I've sought out unique soda's for years and still call Rocket the only place I've ever seen at least 5-10 bottlers/flavors. They also sell a bunch of knick-knacks here that are fun for all ages. A personal fav were the 1970's and 1980's wax packs of cards. I picked up a pack of Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind on one visit. Brought back great memories! Please restock these! This place is awesome. I love the way my daughter lights up when she walks into this place. Wall to wall candy and soda pop. Lots of unique candies as well as traditional candy varieties. Wow! If you're a fan of sweet stuff this is the place for you, especially unusual pop in glass bottles. You can find a lot of your old-time favorites as well as their own line of bizarre flavors (San Francisco Fog, anyone?) There's lots of candy, both nostalgic and imported, a bit on the pricey side as one might imagine. We found Zero candy bars, which I last had in the early '90s. There are also lunch boxes, tin signs, and other novelty gift items in addition to all the sugar! I got a root-beer flavored lip balm: nicely emollient and very flavorful, though slightly gritty at first. Two girls staffing the store were friendly and helpful. I got some surprise goodies in my bag (sticker and temporary tattoo) when I got home; cool! There's parking around the corner at the "launch pad" if you're trying to find a space. He charged me more than what the items were priced at - I realized after I left and called to clarify, he was rude to me and told me I could not get my money back & it was a final sale (even tho I told him he overcharged me) he said something else rude and eventually he hung up on me. Later he called me back and told me he was sorry I felt that way - I explained to him that being overcharged wasn't a feeling but an actual issue and also known as stealing. Love the concept! Huge variety of sodas and candies. It's a bit overpriced but I think that comes with these types of shops and the area. My main concern was the service. The staff working on a Saturday afternoon did not seem particularly organized or friendly. My mother in law attempted to purchase a lunch box but was unable to buy it at the price marked on the item. That was a sale lost due to lack of training (the employee was unable to change the price in the system). We will probably be back for more treats and hope the service improves. read more

I ended up purchasing a bottle of root beer from bavaria, and a Muhammad Ali poster. My grandfather loved the drink, as he is a soda fanatic. Only downside was the price - $7 for a 16 oz bottle of soda. The price you pay for European carbonated beverages. Old Mr. Ali is staring at me every morning I wake up now, talk about inspiration. So came with my friends for a day trip to St Charles. There where lots of mentions on social media for rocket fizz so naturally we had to go check it out. First off when you walk in you realize how huge this store is and yes there is something for everyone and they have a huge variety. Floor to ceiling just about. As I navigate this awesome place I notice the over a 100 or more different types of soda here WOW. every taste and kind you can imagine. We are greeted by a friendly outgoing guy with great energy and a awsome personality. After a few words it's his father in-laws store. He took over after he got sick but being a small family store with great energy and down to earth people. We are more then happy to spend our money here with pleasure. We feel valued and appreciated.and that means alot to us. As I stroll through I'm picking up this candy and that candy oh and gotta get this one reminds me of my childhood. Oh gotta get this one for my daughter etc by the time I was done I spent 45 dollars and my friend spent 35 and we didn't care cause we felt appreciated!!!! And we where excited about all our goodies we got and why we got certain ones cause of this memory or that special day so fun thank you and I highly recommend this little BIG store. Rocket Fizz is a great store but what made it better than a regular candy and soda store was the owners and employees made you feel so welcomed and like family!!!! I went in with enthusiasm, but left empty-handed. Although I was the only customer, the guy at the counter never even said hello. After perusing the entire store, I didn't find a single item worth buying. I honestly expected a better selection, and was surprised at how many items are available at most stores (Milky Way and Smarties, anyone?) Prices were too high - can buy some candies for half the price elsewhere. If you are looking for a variety of weird soda flavors, this store is a must. This isn't a restaurant, although it's listed under that in the selection of choices on yelp. This weekend is their second anniversary and I have only been here a couple of times before. I enjoyed it the other two times, but this time I stopped in because I saw the sign on the sidewalk saying you could win something. I only had $4 with me so I knew I wasn't going to be purchasing a lot, but I did buy my mom two small treats. When I got to the counter the family before me was able to win something off of the wheel, but the young man at the register just rang me up. Didn't say anything about the prize wheel, just rang up my purchase. I was waiting to see what he did and I was right. Didn't offer the wheel at all. Next, they had a box to drop your receipt in with your address and email for a chance to win one of several prizes. When I asked the young man if I could borrow a pen so I could drop my receipt in the box, I'm not joking, he looked at me like " are you kidding me?" I only spent $4, I understand I won't be your largest customer of the day.. but I deserved to be treated like everyone else who made larger purchases that day. The store is fine. The personnel the night we were there is not great. A guy with the first initial P (blond w a lot of arm tattoos) was asked if my 5 yr old daughter could use the bathroom because she really had to go badly. He said he didn't have one. I asked how he went to the bathroom. He said, no bathroom for my daughter. "Rules are rules". I'll never go here again. It's way over priced too. Very unique soda store and a perfect fit being in St. Charles. I went into another Rocket Fizz in Seattle and they tend to have the same product lineups. They offer a ton of different flavored soda (including bacon and pickles), a wide variety of candy, and unique knick knack type toys or gifts. If you are bringing kids please watch them; the soda is in glass bottles. It is decorated with retro concert posters and random movie items. read more

The brunette working behind the counter was extremely rude. My mom was just asking her a question since she purchased a bottle of Pepsi and the edge cracked while opening it. It had pieces of glass inside. My mother asked her if she could change it, and the employee screamed at her, saying YOU CAN CHANGE IT IF YOU WANT TO!!! While rolling her eyes. I told her she did not have to have an attitude. I have never witnessed someone mistreating my mother like that. Never will I set foot in that shop, it's a shame because it's a pretty neat store and town. If I could, I would give this store and the employees a BIG 2 thumps down! Just letting you know of a bad experience I had at Rocket Fizz. I recently went to the St. Charles location and purchased Strawberry Cream Oreo Soft Cookies which were imported from Japan. At some point either before I purchased it (either during the shipping process or in unloading them at the store) they were badly crushed. Every cookie I unwrapped was crumbled in pieces and impossible to handle/eat as one would a cookie. When I called the store to see if I could either get a refund or store credit I was told that would be impossible since I might have crushed them. While it is Rocket Fizz's prerogative to not give refunds on items, it doesn't sit well with me as a regular customer (who plunked down $9 on a bag of crushed inedible Oreos) that they not accept my word that it was defective on purchase. Would like to warn other customers to be careful of what they are buying. In the event that the item is crushed or disturbed, you won't be dealing with understanding staff. read more

Rocket Fizz is a great place to get screwed over!! I went in all excited, because I mean there's candy every where which is every kids dream. Anyway the service there was horrible, the workers were unbelievably rude to my sister and I. And everything there is over priced. You can get the same candy items at the dollar store, better quality ones too. The candy I purchased were also "the newest additions" however they were all stale. I didn't mind the candy being stale and old, but the fact that the workers were rude ruined my experience there. They double charged me and did nothing about it.. Plus I did not receive a receipt which Was claimed "store policy". I do NOT recommend going unless you want to lose money and receive horrible customer service. read more
