I've been wanting to check this store out for a while and was finally glad I came! With the creaking, old wooden floors, it truly takes you back in time to set foot in here. We looked at the different flavors of sodas and other bottles drinks. You can also find all sorts of candy, gummies, chocolate, and other weird things. You can even buy stuff to prank your friends here. The store has got some hype. As we walked around in here, more people came in and browsed. What a fun candy shop! I stopped in for a soda and was immediately taken aback just seeing the inside of the store. It's chaotic and colorful and there are shelves full of sugary delights everywhere! Just like a candy shop should be. I strolled on over to the refrigerators full of glass soda bottles, shocked by the impressive WALL of taffy I saw on the way. I've never seen more salt water taffy in my life. When I arrived at the soda, I checked out the options and had an immediate "what-in-the-harry-potter-is-this?!!?" moment. They offer tons of hilarious flavors (see photos for examples), that would make a great gag gift or a really silly experience for little kids. "Guess that flavor"-- well, it might be barf or dino droppings lol. The silly flavored sodas are Rocket Fizz's own in-house brand-- how fun! I know this shop has been there forever and it does not disappoint... But I would LOVE to see a future iteration of Rocket Fizz where they offer sodas on draft and have a bar. A candy and float shop? I don't have kids and I don't drink a TON of soda, so I landed on an orange ginger unfiltered option. It was tasty but a little sweet for my palette. I haven't been into Rocket Fizz in many years and I'm not sure when I'll personally be back, but I would definitely recommend it to any candy/soda fans, or families.... and I'm still holding out that they'll open a soda bar one day! A huge assortment of candy from salt water candy which you can select your own assortment, to all sorts of gummies, chocolates, and lollipops galore. They even have an international candy and snacks section if you'd like to try things from other countries. I would recommend yan yan - biscuit sticks that come with either a strawberry or chocolate dip! They also have fun stuff like green tea KitKats and Japanese sesame potato sticks. I've been to several Rocket Fizz locations around the country and this one lived up to their standards. Rocket Fizz, if you've never been, is a super fun shop dedicated to cheeky sodas and sweet treats. They carry dozens of soda flavors in inventive flavors (pickle juice, anyone? Bacon? Ranch dressing?) with funny themes and names (e.g., Stalinade...red pop with Joseph Stalin on the label, and my personal favorite--The Monkees Banana Nut soda). They make great gag gifts or sips for those with an adventurous palate. They also carry a ton of retro and contemporary candy, chocolate/candy bars, imported candy (including whole sections from Japan and the UK) and a wall of salt water taffy. There's also non-edible fun to be found as well with walls of pop culture-themed tin signs, tchotchkes, and more. The woman running the shop the day I went in was really friendly and chatty. I love this name because--and I am going to lose my midwestern bonifides because of this--I hate the word 'pop' for soda. Think of the following phrase, how it assults the ear, how butt ugly it sounds: " I want some POP!" What are you a child? What do you want? A father? A punch to your ugly mug? To be a victim of a mass shooter? What? Apologist say that it is an onomatopoeia for the sound soda makes but they are very, very wrong: soda doesn't pop. You don't pour a Dr Pepper and see people around you hitting the deck. You're not attracting people thinking your pinching bubble wrap. No soda sounds like fizz. That's what I am going to call it for now on, fizz. Next time I want pop I am going to ask my server for a fizz, no doubt generating confusion. If someones at my house I'll ask if they want some of my fizz-- on second thought maybe not in that situation. So I love the name for this colorful, whimsical spot in the Short North. As the name suggest it sells craft fizz with cool name, creative flavors, and fun candies. Everything here harkens back to the vintage soda jerk of days past as well as the village candy store. Sweet, childlike, and exciting this places is an idea stop on a date, a stop during Gallory Hop, or when your drunk and jonesing for fizz. I had a Jimi Hendrix bottle of fizz and some wonderful taffy. It was a great sweet treat in a wonderful night. Note: there's a minimum amount to use a card. Rocket Fizz is a must-go-see for everyone. I was surprised to see it at the Short North since I go to the one on Euclid in downtown Cleveland. The place is total nostalgia. The walls are covered with old ad posters and sayings. The food is covered with tables full of candy brands from perhaps '40s, '50s, '60s and more. We love the gourmet, hard-to-find soda pops. Pop. And candy. Lots of both. Oh, man, I am going to be spending some money here. Just heard about this- on Yelp, of course- and happened to be nearby so I stopped in. It is so much more than I expected. For a shop in the Short North it is pretty big, and it is packed with sweet stuff. I went for the root beer, and there are dozens of kinds. I got 12, and will be back for more. I've had about half of what they carry, but there were plenty that I've never seen. Plus lots of other kinds of pop- pick a flavor, they have it. Turns out they are a chain, and I thought the name was familiar- I have a bottle of their root beer at home already that I picked up someplace else. They make their stuff out west, and have lots of their own flavors. If you're not thirsty there are dozens, hundreds, of kinds of candy. New stuff, old favorites, oddities. I got a few things. Just couldn't help myself. Service was excellent. The store is clean and well-organized. There's a cooler too; didn't even look closely at that, though I assume it contains the same brands as are on the shelves. Prices, well, maybe a little high if you just think of it as generic pop, but for what they carry it's pretty reasonable. Plus, there are discounts if you get 4 or 12 bottles. I'll be back. The entire time I was smiling at all the cool old candies, artisan sodas, and quirky signs they had all over the place. I immediately was taking pictures and sending them to my parents to drum up some nostalgia. They have so many different classic candies to choose from as well as an entire wall of salt water taffy with flavors I didn't even know existed. 2 things. 1. If you have ADD (or some form of ADD) this is the place for you. 2. If you love candy and pop (soda for you weird people) then this is the place for you as well. I walk in and my ADHD was in full force! There is candy here and a nic-nak there and pop everywhere. I was so overwhelmed with the selection and had no idea where to start and then the owner Lyndsay came to my rescue. She is uber friendly and welcoming and just as excited as anyone can be about all the goods in the store. Pretty sure she would give you a welcome hug if you asked. She explained to me how everything is set up. She was so knowledgeable about every freakin piece of candy and there was probably a solid 3k pieces in there. She knew everything. She also has the hard to get items as well... Case in point, they have Wild Pitch Watermelon Big League Chew. All I can find is grape and original. If you like root-beer get in here! Right now! Stop reading and run there! I can't count the amount of root-beer they have. Its unreal! I like a good ginger-ale/beer to mix with my bourbon... this place is a mecca! So many choices! The only downside, which is understandable, some of the items are pricey. BUT they are worth it. There was a regular size chocolate bar north of $5, I kinda cringed at the price but it was worth it. This is a fun little shop located in the Short North. I take my tween here often to grab unique sodas such as Maple Syrup soda, Pickle Soda, Jimi Hendrix, KISS, or even Barf sodas. They have fun gifts such as nostalgic candy or off the wall toys. I've taken people here to pick out their own birthday gifts of soda 6 packs, and my nephews (teenagers) can spend quite some time here. Walking around the Short North on a hot day last week and I felt like I was going to either have a heat stroke or straight pass out. I couldn't decide which one was going to happen first. Then when we are walking back to our car, I glance into the storefront that we are walking by, I thought maybe it was a mirage at first. Walls of soda & candy. This obviously isn't what you SHOULD drink when you're feeling like you're going to pass out, but it is however what you want usually. We ran into the store and let the air conditioning cool us down and stared at the coolers full of cold soda. So many choices, I was easily overwhelmed. A lot of novelty type sodas that I don't know how they would taste. Sweet Corn Soda, PB&J Soda... Snooki's Wild Cherry Soda. Which was questionable to me. I doubt it tastes like wild cherry and more like Jolly Ranchers & Chlamydia. I'll pass. I narrowed it down to what type of soda I wanted being either a ginger ale or root beer. I defaulted to one of my favorites out of all the selections, and got a Dr. Brown's Root Beer. I've had never seen it in a bottle before. I also picked out a Olde Brooklyn Black Cherry Soda. Both sodas were amazing, and tasty. After I picked out my sodas my boyfriend and I went and lurked around the store eyeing all the candy. They had everything you could think of candy wise and more. They had your typical movie theater esque candy boxes that you can find anywhere. They had a lot of unique candies though that I have really never seen before. Most of it made me think of goofy novelty type candies. Anything Bacon flavored, Mustache shaped, etc. They also had a lot imported type of candies from Japan & Europe. Which is always my favorite. Especially when Pocky is involved. We didn't get any of this candy this time around though. We were directed and obsessed with the whole wall full of Salt Water Taffy. SO many flavors that I have never even seen before. We got a big bag, that we were told to make sure to fill all the way to the top (which we did.) For $8. We looked at this as our snackage for the two hour trip back home to Cincinnati. They had an "All - American" flavor of Salt Water Taffy that we had never seen, I asked what it tasted like and one of the guys working said it tasted like a bald eagle and Donald Trump's hair. Made me laugh. But incase you're wondering it tastes minty. haha. Everything was very affordable. Which was a surprise since this place is a chain store. They could easily make everything outrageously priced if they wanted too. The guys working there were super cool and funny. Made it even more of a unique and fun experience being here. If you're in the Columbus area, esp on High Street or in the Short North make sure you definitely stop in here and check it out. read more

I was overwhelmed walking in and seeing all of the brightly colored sugary snacks; it was quite breathtaking. Fortunately, some friendly worker came and explained the store's layout for us. Definitely allow this to happen if you are a first timer because there is a method to their madness here at RF. I couldn't begin to count the number of sodas they have here. Row upon row including things like bacon and radioactive. There is an entire display of root beers. A nice touch is the cooler case with chilled sodas for immediate consumption. The actual reason for my visit, other than pure curiosity, was to find a very specific kind of Japanese DIY candy for one of the kiddos. Wouldn't you know it, lo and behold, there it was right in the Asian candy section! Several varieties too! So I will definitely be bringing the children here once we have some spare time. I thought Rocket Fizz looked neat but I never had come in. I am not really a big candy eater so I thought it would be good for presents. They have many candies and soda pops. It was more flavors than I've seen anywhere. The staff was very helpful in making a few selections. I am not much of a candy eater so there was not that much interest of coming in. The reviews mentioned the many soda pops and weird flavors. After going by it I checked it out and found some cool stuff. The selection of candy and pop was some of the most impressive there is. They have over 500 kinds of pop and over 2,000 kinds of candy. It can be a little costly for some things but most are pretty good price. The Rocket Fizz soda pop flavors include banana nut, black cherry, cinnamon, cotton candy, grape, green apple jalapeno, key lime, marshmallow, orange cream, peach, pineapple, red licorice, rocket fuel, s'mores, strawberries and cream, and watermelon. There's also other brands with weird flavors including bacon and ranch. It has so much candy I can't figure where to start. There are the usual kinds you can find anywhere, some odd ones, and some vintage. It has those classic eye and body parts candy. There's an entire wall of bins filled with salt water taffy you can fill a bag with. It also has a collection of funny posters. This place turned out to be great for presents as I left with several bags. I recommend this to anyone who likes candy or know someone. It has something for everyone's taste. It's a wonderful place where old memories of being a kid come to life I asked for a shopping cart to fill my most prized childhood memories in but the lady looked at me funny they don't even have shopping carts just baskets lol so guess I was stuck carrying my memories instead of pushing them. Every kind of flavored soda you could imagine pickle soda, mustard soda I decided to pick up peanut butter and jelly soda advent tasted it yet but it looks good lol I also ended up spending 33 dollars just on soda and some gummies lol. What a fun candy shop! While wandering around Columbus, my boyfriend and I were drawn into this shop by the bright colors and candy. They have entertaining sassy signs adorning the walls, and tables of your usual candy bars, as well as a selection of imported candies from different countries. They also have some candies in what looks to be very old style wrappers. Think a candy has been discontinued? It seems like they collect them! During my visit to Columbus, my friend insisted we come here to try a soda for each day I was visiting. There are hundreds of types of soda to choose from. Hence the name Rocket 'Fizz'. We stayed for about 45 minutes just looking at all the different kinds offered. Theres a refridgerated section and others that aren't cold under the candy shelves. They're seperated by type, so it might take a bit to walk around and view them all. They really do offer everything! From Ginger Ale, to plain Cola by tons of manufacturers. It was my task to pick just 3. My first pick was Ranch dressing, which I was warned to stay away from by the workers. I bravely disregarded their warnings and picked a second, Alien Snot. My third was an Apple Cider. Among some of the craziest are Sweet Corn, Peanut Butter & Jelly, and Buffalo Wings. There are also sodas that are Rocket Fizz brand. At $1.99 each for a 6 pack, it's not a bad deal. I had a worker help me decide my last pick, and he was extremely nice and helpful. He knows the sodas extremely well and had tons of suggestions on what soda goes well with different things. Good customer service makes me want to come back here again. I tried the Ranch Dressing in store and gagged immediately. One of the cashiers smiled and said, "I warned you, that's the worst one we have." If you're feeling brave, try it yourself. One of the only places in Columbus I have seen actually carry it. We tried a lot of other sodas there too but nothing to impressive.
