HOPE YOU'RE HUNGRY!…read more Okay, okay... breakfast is my favorite meal. It's true. So I had to give Yolk Diner in Boynton Beach a try! First, the good stuff: the menu is HUGE, there are plenty of choices, and the food was good. But here's the thing I noticed... A LOT of the dishes come with three eggs. Now, I know a standard omelet is typically three eggs, but we're talking skillets, too! And while I will always subscribe to the philosophy that too much food is better than not enough, some of these dishes are ENORMOUS for your average Joe or Jane. So, if you're hungry and hankering for a big ol' lumberjack-style breakfast, Yolk might just be your sweet spot. Or if you've got a hungry crew and everyone is willing to share, even better! For me? I may need to remember that ordering a "full" breakfast at Yolk is basically making a commitment.

For food I ordered the Koco's Biswich and chose turkey bacon as my protein of choice and it didn't disappoint. The homemade biscuit and the pepper jam really set this sandwich off! I am still thinking about it. My friend had the Caribbean Breakfast Scramble and enjoyed it. For my drink, I tried the Strawberry Matcha and let me just say - in love!! It was my first matcha drink & I'm so glad I chose Koco's to try it. The service was phenomenal even for a busy morning. I met a friend for breakfast and even tho there was a line when we got inside, it moved quickly. The establishment is not large, however there's sufficient seating inside and a few table chairs outside. We sat inside and noticed how clean it was kept. Tables and areas were cleaned quickly allowing for diners to opt to sit and enjoy their delicious food and drinks. I would 10/10 recommend! I look forward to going back to try other things on the menu.

Stopped by KoCo Café & Bakery on a Sunday around 12:40 PM for brunch. I was a little surprised to…read morefind out that the breakfast menu ends so early. We were told they stop taking breakfast orders at 11 AM, even though the café opens at 8 AM, so breakfast is essentially only available for about three hours. The location was very busy, which definitely seems to speak to its popularity. Unfortunately, once we arrived after breakfast hours, the lunch menu didn't have too many options that appealed to us. A lot of the lunch selections lean heavily toward Caribbean-inspired dishes(oxtail soup, chimichurri, jerk chicken, etc), and since we haven't ate yet, we decided not to order food. We ended up just getting a caramel matcha, which was good. The café itself is cute and has a nice atmosphere, and the bakery selection looked tempting. I'd definitely come back earlier in the day to try the breakfast menu, but I would recommend checking the breakfast hours before going if that's what you're looking forward to. The limited breakfast window was definitely a little disappointing, especially for a Sunday brunch spot.

Apparently six people in camouflage is considered wildlife in Wellington…read more The Skillet had plenty of open tables, but we were placed in a side room by ourselves and then completely ignored. In hindsight, I assume they simply couldn't see us. We were in camo, after all. Eventually, employees started peeking around the corner at us like they'd spotted a rare species in its unnatural habitat. Once Summer lost the rock-paper-scissors contest on who had to serve us, she was great and the food was actually fantastic. And honestly, having every employee come out to deliver part of our food was a nice touch. Nothing says "welcome" quite like the entire staff taking turns coming to see the camo people in the segregated room. 10/10 food. 10/10 Summer. Questionable habitat management. Wellington may be used to people on horseback, but apparently six people in camo was a little too outdoorsy.

Enjoying a sunny day with our best friends from med school and residency who left the winters of PA behind to live in Florida. Celebrating life, family and friendship. Ordered a Mediterranean Skillet with skillet potatoes and a sunny side up egg. (You know I already looked at the quite extensive menu the night before.) My hubby ordered the same to match me. Our friends got a My Big Fat Greek Omelet and a Heathy Omelet with onions added. The skillet potatoes are more like a scalloped potato casserole. Milk, cream, cream cheese, scallions and shredded potatoes. So rich and creamy. The Mediterranean Skillet adds grilled red onions, mushrooms, peppers, Kalamata olives, sun-dried tomatoes and a generous sprinkle of goat cheese. Topped with two eggs, it is decadently delicious. Bread options included scones, toast or biscuits. Our table tried all of them. My scone was so delicious. I only ate half because my skillet was so delicious and so filling. My friend loved her biscuit and my hubby loved his scone. Sophia was great. She kept checking on us with a warm smile and refills of coffee. Lots of parking on a Sunday morning. A great breakfast for four. Very reasonable prices for fresh skillets and omelets. Hopefully we will be back on another visit to the Sunshine State.

Parking is street side and we lucked out finding a spot a short walk away. They were doing some construction on the building so we had to carefully navigate to reach the entrance which faces Lake Avenue. Inside there are a few tables, a bar along the wall window, and an area with a sofa. We chose an open table and perused the menu, then ordered at the cashier. They have breakfast, pastries, empanadas, salads, paninis, and sandwiches. We both got a sandwich. I started with an iced decaf coffee latte. It was very good. I'm not a fan of Starbucks as I think their coffee is bitter, but this coffee here was pleasantly aromatic and smooth. My husband chose an Inca kola from the cooler. My husband got a tuna classic and I got a grilled chicken with avocado sandwich. We both chose a white baguette for our bread. We both really liked our sandwiches. The bread was crusty outside and sift inside and lightly roasted. So glad we finally got to try them.
