It is *BHM so I decided to visit a locally owned sandwich shop for lunch. Upon entering, I noticed that there were just a few tables inside and a lot of space type memorabilia on the walls as well as some retro kitchy items on the counters and tables. It seemed a little cluttered but fun to look at. The menu is pretty expansive for such a small place but from what we ordered, everything was done well and service was very good. Everything seemed to be made to order. We had the smash burger with just onion so that was easy and simple. Not greasy and easy to eat. The Cuban sandwich though not served on traditional Cuban bread was nicely pressed with a good flavor of ingredients. The Cheesesteak was prepared perfectly with meat to cheese ratio. Lastly the Roast beef sandwich on a Kaiser looked amazing except the meat was not tender and very chewy when eaten. That is the only thing that wasn't great. The tatertots and onion rings were not homemade but they were crispy and fried well in what they posted as cooked in tallow and not random oil. There were a variety of sodas and other beverages. They seem to do a nice breakfast business from the neighborhood locals and I would definitely come back to try other menu items. There is a surcharge for credit and debit cards. 3% *Black History Month

Service was so so for it being only one other table than ours. Food was great! The waitress misheard my order and happily had it fixed it. Cute neighborhood place and part of the reason I went was the beef tallow fries, they did not disappoint.

This was a great experience that I hope to repeat often as we explore more of their menu. It's a small family type restaurant with close tables and an extensive menu with reasonable prices. We had a wait for an open table and now we know why. As we waited, one of the regulars told us that they are happy to customize items so don't be afraid to ask. In addition to the printed menu, there are various features and specials. There are signs on the wall board, too. I decided to order their fried chicken tenders on a bubble waffle. It came without the mentioned powdered sugar, but I just used extra syrup. The chicken was very tasty. The portion was large enough to me to have the leftovers at another meal. My husband ordered the smash burger which came with two patties and toppings. They threw in a small side of fries. He said the meat in the burger was excellent. We got a small vanilla shake to go after seeing sone other folks do the same. I think I'd like to try some of their other drinks. We'd tried their red birch beer but it was a bit under carbonated for my taste. Lots of breakfast options and other diner type meals looked very appealing for a future visit. Can't wait.

A truly great lunch at the Rocket Cafe today! Open for Lunch and breakfast, this place has an eclectic menu offering many of your favorites. The prices are really down to earth for what you get too! ( a party of 6 adults and 5 kids were leaving the same time we were and the grandfather paying told his table, anywhere else would have been 5 times for what they had - I saw his tab was $171.00 ...wow!) I enjoyed the Smash Burger with American cheese, raw onion - instead of grilled and their secret sauce and Fries ... SPECTACULAR! My wife enjoyed her Fried chicken and Bubble Waffles, taking half her meal home with us. Great friendly service and food! We liked this place so much we joined their Loyalty club because we're planning on returning many times in the future.

This cafe just opened by our home. We ordered three bacon egg and cheese sandwiches. The owners purchase their eggs from local growers. There is plenty of parking and space to sit inside. I'm hoping they stay in business for a while. It's nice to have a cafe so close to our home. The bacon egg and cheese sandwiches were good. I'm a New Yorker so any Bacon Egg and cheese I get here will never compare to a NY sandwich. This one was okay. I'll probably return and try a sandwich for dinner or one of their shakes. Prices are reasonable.

Honestly I LOVE this place and the whole concept but the service this time was so off I could not give a good review-last time I came my waitress a spitfire and impressively attended to all 7 tables but this time we waited a ridiculously long time for a waitress to even appear ( I was about to leave and wondered if the poor chef was doubling as waitstaff) and when she did appear she seemed to be moving in slow motion-it took such an unbearable amount of time to get food and drink. Also my meal which was avocado toast-I believe the name implies it would be served on toast but instead it was on a cold piece of bread. I do love the mushroom coffee!

The Cuban sandwich was / is delicious! The ambiance is cute and cozy. Lots of different pictures and tchotchkes used to look at in the cafe. However, I was a to go person. My sandwich was warm and ready to eat when I got home. It was huge I decided to eat half now and save rest for later.

Two friendly ice cream scoopers greeted us and offered samples if we wanted! So many choices - all wonderful - how to decide? Too bad for those who didn't show up because the ice cream was fabulous! We know our way around a cup of ice cream and we were all dazzled by how excellent it was. I had the peanut butter and It was creamy and flavorful. Don had the triple chocolate and he loved it. It was filled with fudge and brownies. He was excited by all the chocolate choices and he picked the most decadent option. Roger had the praline which was also enjoyed. The dairy-free vanilla fudge could have had more fudge, I was told. What a find! We'll definitely be returning often!

I opted for the garbage dump which included chunks of seven different candies. The ice cream was good and the price was as expected.

The pie crust is always perfectly made, and the presentation of the pie is just beautiful. On this visit, I opted for the blueberry pie, which I have never had from Upper Crust. The blueberries were so fresh, and the pie was packed with them. It wasn't too sweet and, of course, paired perfectly with vanilla ice cream from home. The woman behind the counter was helpful in leading me to this most perfect choice. The bakery is just that. There are no tables or chairs to dine inside or outside. I've attempted to order a strawberry pie in the past but this was the first time I was successful. Apparently, they're now marketing this so hopefully we can make this a tradition. I ordered and paid for the pie a couple of weeks prior to pick-up day over the telephone. A coworker picked up the pie when scheduled and it was beautiful. Moreover, it was delicious and everyone including the birthday guy enjoyed their slice. In fact, we enjoyed round 2 with the leftover pie a few days later. Unfortunately, we failed to photograph the pie. Visualize a mounting heap of glazed berries in a pie crust with a beautiful trim of whip cream. I would absolutely order from Upper Crust Bakery again and recommend you do too.
