Ate there for the first time today. After fist walking in, I was very pleased with how friendly the staff was. My boyfriend and I were unsure what to order, so a suggestion was given. The man who was working even offered my boyfriend a sample of coleslaw before he made his final choice. While we waited for our order, I took a quick look at all the soda pop they had for sale. They sell more flavors and brands than I even knew existed! Our food was ready promptly; we probably only waited about 3 minutes. It was DELICIOUS! The portions are huge. I ate at 4pm and I don't think I'll be hungry until tomorrow afternoon, honestly. The pricing is extreme affordable and I see myself going back in the future. The only flaw would be the slight "oopsies" I noticed with cleanliness. The floor by the soda fountain was so sticky that my flip-flop got stuck to it and I almost tripped. I went to Rocket Burger and Subs for the first time today, and I was pleasantly surprised. The establishment didn't look like much, and I was a little leery about eating there as I had come mainly to check out their huge selection of unique and vintage sodas. The burgers at this place are amazing! The different combos that are available create a burger that goes above and beyond, like the Reuburger, a combo of delicious burger and a reuben sandwich. The subs are pretty delectable, too. I helped my wife finish off a Philly Cheesesteak that hit the spot. Don't miss the mushrooms...a real treat! And talk about an incredible soda selection! I did experience a small issue on a recent visit...a part of my order was left out, and a return to pick it up was required. I contacted one of the owners, Steve, who sets a very high standard for customer service. He went above and beyond to correct the small issue, demonstrating genuine concern for his customers and the quality of the product and care with which it is served. My husband and I ate here today. I saw it on check please so I wanted to check it out. The service was absolutely awful. The guy taking our order was rude, wasn't helpful and wouldn't fully answer our questions. We ordered a Cali chicken sandwich that had no taste and the bacon was way over cooked, and I like crispy bacon! My husbands burger was eh, alright. We ordered our food to eat there but the guy that took our order, that was staring us down as we picked out our sodas, gave us our food to go. It was pretty obvious he wanted us to leave, but we stayed anyway. We ate some of the food and left the rest. Will never go back and will tell our friends to never go in the first place. read more

Lots of sodas from everywhere. Some from my childhood even! Good place to get a burger or even a rare soda or something new. Food is good could be better no matter the location . My experience was 5 star but this is a unique place so I feel that they should be out of the norm there are plenty of burger joints near here but this one has all the desire to show here first. After reading all the stellar reviews, I finally checked this place out and was not as impressed as I'd hoped to be. Every surface inside, from the beverage counter to the plastic order number that I placed at my table was either greasy or sticky. I left feeling like I needed to sanitize my hands. I ordered the California club sandwich, which was loaded with turkey (I had to take some out -- this would be a good selling point for someone who loves meat, but it was too much for me) and doused in the most amount of mayo I've ever seen on a sammie. Seriously, like a quarter of a bottle of mayo. Gross. The French fries could have used some seasoning too. At lease some salt or something. I'd be willing to give this place one more try because of all the good reviews. I think I just ordered the wrong thing and would go for a burger next time. ABSOLUTELY the best Philly Cheesesteak in the West!!!! I eat here at least 1 time a week or sometimes 2!! Great food and friendly service. I recently tried the "California Sandwich" AWESOME!!! wow!!! I have been meaning to get on here and write a review for some time now. Lets see .... I have had a few subs (delicious) a number of orders of fries (scrumptious) some of the home made onion rings (fricken awesome) with ranch... the terriyaki burger is so flavorfull its (ridiculous) . my daughter says the chicken strips were the best shes had. but the best thing on the menu is the bacon cheesburger on a sub roll . dude. its fricken amazing. I dont even know the name of it . I just tell dennis (goofy guy behind the counter) what i want and its made perfectly. the oven toasted bacon and bread makes my german blood boil with anticipation. its really good folks . cant go wrong at this place . the prices are so cheap im not sure how they do it for the quality . the atmosphere is cool but i go to a place cuz the food is good . and theyre food is good. dennis and steve are the owners and they are nice guyz that know there stuff. just dont talk football with them cuz they are lacking in football knowledge.... read more

Went here with my husband after craving a good burger and reading good reviews on yelp. We will certainly return! I ordered a cheeseburger which was prepared to order. The beef is never frozen, fresh angus beef. Cheeseburger is made with American cheese. I would have preferred cheddar which wasn't an option. Hubby got the Philly burger- an amazing burger to see piled high with meat and all the cheese steak fixings. I've read poor reviews about the fries- don't pass them up! Fries were perfectly cooked- crispy but not burnt with some softness in the middle. Seasoned to perfection. The owner took our order, he was very friendly and helpful. We bought 6 sodas (drank 1 each, took the rest home) out of amazement. The selection is like nothing I've ever seen. I think this place should be featured on a show like diners, drive ins and dives. The wall of sodas bottles for sale is enough to make a trip for, and the burgers are very tasty. The sodas come from from every state, maker, flavor, etc you could ever imagine. Lots of nostalgic flavors and memories await you here. This would be a really fun place to go for fathers day or a birthday- a man cave for sure. After reading tons of reviews on this place, and considering its right up the street, I decided to give it a try. The soda selection was awesome but the food was just ok. The burger bun was twice the size of my double burger patties, although the bread was yummy. The sauce was way too sweet for my liking and tasted exactly like coleslaw dressing, and the bacon, instead of being nice crisp strips, it was chopped up burnt little scraps. The cheese fries were just ok too. I usually am a big fan of thin cut extra browned french fries but these had very little flavor, and zero salt. Fries should be salted as soon as they come out of the fryer while they are still wet or else the salt will never stick... Lastly, the older gentleman who took my order kind of seemed inconvenienced by having to take my order, which is a very uncomfortable feeing. None of the food I ordered today was bad, it just wasnt all that great. I will probably be back to try a sub and some onion rings. Maybe I can give them a better review next time. read more

5 for sure. I love this place. Found on Yelp. We are from Cleveland, Ohio & it's hard to find anything in Phoenix to fit our taste buds. Fortunately for us, we stumbled upon this place and decided to try it out. First off, I give them a 5 for customer service. They were so nice, helpful and accommodated to our every need. I am beyond picky. I ordered a gyro burger & I have to say it was one of the better gyro I've had. I also ordered a plain hot dog but I had to customize it with a few things just like I would back home (fries, bbq sauce & coleslaw) aka polish boy. And I'd have to say it was one of the best we've had. The coleslaw was perfect, bbq sauce was great & the fries, yummm. The only complaint I have is that I couldn't get a picture fast enough before we devoured our food. We will definitely without a doubt be coming back. This was my surprise birthday lunch, and I could not have been more pleased. The burgers were excellent, but of course if you want to visit the first and last word on soda pop variety, this is it. Cases from wall to wall greet your eye. For any given flavor, you will see maybe twenty or thirty different varieties from all over this great land of ours. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the service overall was excellent as well. Steve, busy as he was, came out personally to act as soda sommelier, guiding me to some of his favorites. The blueberry soda from Maine was amazing, as was Gales Root beer and a cream soda called something like Sprechers form Wisconsin where the honey used came through nicely. The Manhattan Orange was good as well, although not quite in the same league. With lunch, my wife had a Boyland's grape which, like almost all Boyland sodas, is first rate. Highly recommended for food, drink, and just the overall experience. We heard about this place on Check Please and are so glad we did. Next time I will try the kosher dogs which look tempting..and maybe pick up a few special bottles... read more
