Terrible experience with Rock Auto Bought 4 rotors, pads, sensors, etc. 3 of the rotors didn't match what i ordered, even though the boxes and labels were correct. If i hadn't checked the laser markings on the rotors with the manufacturer i wouldn't have known. Might be knock off parts from China? I have bought the same door handle for my historic truck 5 times from Rock Auto because I struggle to find replacements elsewhere. This is all in 3 years. The parts continue to break whether I buy polymer or metal parts. Since this vehicle is in a restoration process I have had times when I have other repairs going on that result in myself being locked inside my car when these handles randomly break on me. I've been a customer for about 20 yrs with hundreds of magnets. But within the past few years, they have appreciably changed for the worse. They sent a control arm that had been opened and the mounting hardware was removed. I'd been called out of town for work and discovered it on day 37, so RockAuto's website (their only customer service) automatically denied me because it was over 30 days. I went to the manufacturer's website to do a warranty claim. They said to do the warranty claim from where I purchased it. RockAuto has a single button for warranty claims and returns. Since I'd tried to initiate a return, the BUTTON IS DISABLED so I can't do a warranty claim either!! I don't think it's legal to offer a warranty and offer no way to make a claim against it. I hope the manufacturer decides to make it right when they open on Monday. If not, I guess I'm having to do a chargeback. Summary, RockAuto sold me an opened package that was missing parts, their online return system auto-denied it because it was over 30 days old, and because the return and the manufacturer warranty claim is shared by the same system, I'm no longer able to make a warranty claim on a limited lifetime warranty. Even if I buy the bolts I need and put it on, it's going to be difficult to do a warranty claim now. RockAuto claims they have lower prices. I ordered parts out of the California warehouse to be shipped to central Nevada (2-3 day UPS shipment usually) UPS tracking showed they never received the parts but I had to wait until day #10 to file a dispute. They immediately shipped replacement parts standard shipping (no expedited even though they screwed up the order). It has now been 16 days since my original order and parts have still not arrived, hopefully tomorrow. No way to get ahold of a person, just automated messaging to report a problem. I have had numerous problems with this company in the past..... I received used brake pads in a new box, shocks that have been smashed flat during shipping, numerous wrong parts shipped. There shipping charges are ridiculously high, and the automated ordering system will automatically switch parts to different locations so shipping is even more. Their lower end parts are usually junk and should be avoided at all cost. Many parts come in broken, defective, or just don't fit the car I ordered for. Recently ordered a gas tank for my 1985 f150. Mechanic tried to install it but tank would not fit properly onto chassis so I had to recondition my old tank and reinstall it. When I contacted Rock Auto, initially they offered to refund me half the total cost to which I agreed since it was a manufacture defect (tolerances are not to OEM specification). Then I received an email telling me I ordered the wrong part! I confirmed that I did indeed order the correct part so they asked that I send them VIN and pictures, which I did. When they ran out of excuses they decided to close my ticket so I could no longer send emails about my dispute. There is no customer service at Rock Auto. I felt I was communicating with robots the whole time and their system is set up this way by design so as not to refund any money to disputing customers. Perhaps this is how they really make their money. Either way, I will never deal with them again as they are not trustworthy. For anyone thinking of ordering from them, BEWARE!
