Reid’s Home Repair - Framing a new wall

Reid’s Home Repair

We're so grateful we found Reid's Home Repair for our big basement refinish project - great work…read moreand great humans! Our home was built in 1913 and gut rehabbed in 2024. However, the basement was not finished, but had rough-in plumbing installed. We were looking for someone to finish the basement (4 rooms total), including adding an additional bedroom with closet and full bathroom. This included all electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, door installation, flooring, trim, and painting. Mike was quick to respond to my original inquiry, come check out the space, and provide a quote. He was timely, friendly, and easy to collaborate with. We changed our mind a few times on final design - we appreciate how patient he was with us while we narrowed in on the final plan. The final quote was very detailed and he provided helpful information on the areas for potential cost increase (given that the home is old and there could have been unexpected things identified after work begun). This helped us set our expectations for the project. During the project, he kept us up to date on progress or concerns and kept the area very clean (ensuring very little debris made its way outside the basement into our home). He managed all of the subcontractors (electric, plumbing, carpet, etc) so we didn't need to worry about a thing. Made it super easy by having one point of contact! His work speaks for itself. There were a lot of difficult aspects of the basement to figure out (i.e. uneven walls and ceilings, tricky vents or pipes along the ceiling, water/electrical shutoffs needing to be accessible, etc), but he managed to turn the space into exactly what we were looking for. The attention to detail makes all the difference! In the end, the project took about two months (including carpet installation) and final cost was in line with the estimate. I'd recommend Reid's Home Repair to anyone!

Terrible experience with this group. We started working with them in June and three months later…read morein September, we had no design and no one will call us back. We've asked for a full return on our design moneys. They canceled appointments with no phone call. Didn't complete measurements accurately when they did come out to the house. I have worked with four people so far and none of them return phone calls. In addition they stall you for over two months and you have no design. Currently, they will not return my phone calls or emails. Half of the staff members I worked with no longer have "working emails". It looks like we may need to file a suit to get our moneys returned and let others no, DO NOT give this group your money or time. It's a terrible experience. I thought I had selected a reputable company. I should have researched more. I wish there were icons for a "negative star" rating.

Do not hire this company for any work! I want to start by…read moresaying that I have never felt as disrespected and been as ignored by a company as I have been by Fox Contracting Group. I contacted Fox in June 2021 to schedule a shower tile remodel project; at this point I was told I would need to put $1680 down (50% of the estimated project cost) in order to be put on the schedule. In hindsight, that should have raised red flags, but it didn't and so I sent a check. Fox received my check, and I selected the tile I wanted used for the project by June 28. And that's it. I was never put on the schedule, and I was never contacted (except for a brief visit that resulted in a doubled estimate and a few more fallen tiles in my shower) by anyone at Fox. On July 26, I called to request a refund of my deposit since no work had been completed. It was only at that point that I was told by Paul, their head of operations, that I was on the schedule for the first week of August. Interestingly, no one had notified me of this "scheduled" work until I requested a refund. Over the course of the next 3-4 weeks, I called Fox at least 7 times, spoke and left numerous messages with the receptionist, and tried in vain to reach Aaron, the owner of the company. Only AFTER I initiated a BBB complaint did Fox respond to my communications; on August 19 Aaron Fox, the owner of the company, spoke to me on the phone and assured me that I would be able to come pick up the materials myself and get a refund of the balance owed me. He said he would contact me within 2 business days to communicate the cost of materials and to schedule the pickup, but I haven't heard a word from Fox since then, and it is currently October 8. I want anyone who is considering hiring this company for ANY work to be aware of how badly Fox has treated me and handled my potential business. In reading through other reviews on this site, it appears this is not an isolated incident in the slightest. To reiterate, Fox took nearly $1700 from me and then failed to do ANY work at all and (even worse) has virtually ignored all my calls and emails over the last month. Do not hire this company!

Fishers Remodeling - Kitchen

Fishers Remodeling

ATTENTION EVERYONE I HAVE FOUND THE PERFECT CONTRACTOR…read more I got the number for Jason with Fishers Remodeling from my homeowner's association because they apparently do a lot of work in my neighborhood. The first project I needed done was some siding repair and a rebuild of a little gate out front, as well as repair of some rotted wood on my front steps. I obtained quotes from 5 different companies (well, tried to - two of the companies came, wrote down my information, and never sent an email or called). Jason responded with a very reasonable, professional, written quote within 48 hours (might have even been 24, it was a while ago, I can't remember now). He responded to every text message I sent immediately, showed up at EXACTLY the time he said he would, and the work was performed quickly and perfectly. Obviously I called him again for the next thing I needed done (overhead racks in the garage). Again, responded to every message and phone call, showed up when he said he would, did the work quickly and perfectly. Oh, and they are all super professional and nice and trustworthy and I literally took a nap in my room while they were working in the house, so there's that too. Not to sound overly effusive, but I am on project six with Fishers Remodeling and they have literally been flawless. Like, every other contractor is pretty much ruined for me. The one tragic part of this is now they are going to get super popular and start remodeling three million dollar mansions and I will never get them to assemble a Murphy bed for me again and then I'll have to start all over. But that's a problem for Future Me. Right Now Me is just enjoying the fact that YES I HAVE FOUND THE PERFECT CONTRACTOR. I want them to do really great and stay around forever, so definitely call them for ALL THE PROJECTS. Just know that I will weep a tiny bit when they no longer have time for my non-3-million dollar undertakings. Happy remodeling!
