We're so grateful we found Reid's Home Repair for our big basement refinish project - great work…read moreand great humans! Our home was built in 1913 and gut rehabbed in 2024. However, the basement was not finished, but had rough-in plumbing installed. We were looking for someone to finish the basement (4 rooms total), including adding an additional bedroom with closet and full bathroom. This included all electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, door installation, flooring, trim, and painting. Mike was quick to respond to my original inquiry, come check out the space, and provide a quote. He was timely, friendly, and easy to collaborate with. We changed our mind a few times on final design - we appreciate how patient he was with us while we narrowed in on the final plan. The final quote was very detailed and he provided helpful information on the areas for potential cost increase (given that the home is old and there could have been unexpected things identified after work begun). This helped us set our expectations for the project. During the project, he kept us up to date on progress or concerns and kept the area very clean (ensuring very little debris made its way outside the basement into our home). He managed all of the subcontractors (electric, plumbing, carpet, etc) so we didn't need to worry about a thing. Made it super easy by having one point of contact! His work speaks for itself. There were a lot of difficult aspects of the basement to figure out (i.e. uneven walls and ceilings, tricky vents or pipes along the ceiling, water/electrical shutoffs needing to be accessible, etc), but he managed to turn the space into exactly what we were looking for. The attention to detail makes all the difference! In the end, the project took about two months (including carpet installation) and final cost was in line with the estimate. We ordered carpet through Full Circle Flooring rated as "pet-line" and would, supposedly, resist…read morestranding/looping from our dogs running around on the carpet. Within a month of installation multiple strands from the carpet began to appear which qualified for a full refund based off the amount of degree of involvement. Despite this, Full Circle deferred the decision on whether or not to refund us to the carpet manufacturer who then promptly stated that the stranding/looping was "normal" and did not qualify for a refund or replacement. On the positive side, they also installed LVP in our basement which did bubbled up in several spots. The company was attentive and corrected the areas that were involved.

I was initially excited to work with Ken and his team. Ken was professional and responsive during…read morethe quoting process and we felt his pricing was fair. Ultimately, our opinion is he oversold and underdelivered for many reasons. One reason being his emphasis on communication, however, his subs or employees would arrive and ask me what was to be worked on for the day. Also disappointing were the consistent errors, low quality work, and avoidable damage created in other areas of our home, which I had to pay a different contractor to fix. We felt specific (not all) of his subs or employees were careless and no where near experienced enough to be called professional home remodelers. Ken also told me he knew his crew and worked with them for many years, however, a newer team member of his initiated a highly aggressive fight in my home with another employee, where expletives were being shouted between them and in front of me and my small child. His employees were later captured on my Ring camera laughing about me and my child being scared. It was the most unprofessional conduct we have ever experienced by a contractor in the 10 years we have owned our home. When my husband called to ensure Ken was informed of the situation, he cut my husband off and said, "a little grace would be nice." There was a complete lack of care or accountability as the owner of the company. I would not recommend this company for PROFESSIONAL home remodeling.
