We have used Pro Sanding twice. The first time they refinished our back room and kitchen. In the kitchen they had to feather in new wood to match the old wood where we had removed a peninsula and the work was beautiful. This past week we had them come in to remove tile from the foyer and replace it with wood and refinish the bamboo flooring we found when removed the vinyl flooring. Carl gave us a fair quote. The new wood arrived and was then Caesar showed up to do the floors. Under the tile he found beautiful parquet flooring that he was able to refinish. Carl requoted us and we oil back the ordered wood without issue. The flooring turned out fantastic. If I had more flooring to refinish I would definitely call Carl again. read more

We had some damaged flooring in our 100 year old home that needed repaired and refinished last month. Carl and I were able to get a time scheduled where he came out, measured and we agreed to move forward. So glad we did- my wife and I are very happy with how they turned out! They did the entire upstairs which included the bedrooms, closets and hall. They even touched up the top of the newel post at the top of the stairs. I recently purchased a new (old) home with 100-yr-old original heart pine floors with an orange-y finish and deporable worn condition. I contacted six companies about refinishing, and received varying opinions, including two who refused to do it at all and said the floors must be replaced. I went with ProSand because the price seemed fair, I wanted to preserve the antique floors, and they could do the job within a few weeks (the others were scheduling 6 weeks out). They ended up doing my job a week earlier bc someone else moved back their job to a later date. I will say that Carl can be abrasive, but I recommend overlooking that because the guys who showed up to actually do the work were very knowledgeable, helpful, professional, friendly, and patient. I emphasize the last because I had a very hard time deciding on a color and they sanded small areas and tested 7 different colors on the floors for me and dispensed advice about lighting and viewing to help me decide and find exactly what I wanted. I hired Carl and Prosand to refinish my hardwood floors. While talking to Carl, I expressed frustration about finding contractors for repairing my drywall, painting every room in the house, painting the exterior, and replacing the carpets. He mentioned, "you know, we do that too...". Wow, do they! I ended up hiring ProSand to do it all. Their prices were competitive and they "just took care of it". I didn't have to worry about managing 3 or 4 different contractors, getting the timing right between each part of the work, and I didn't have to pay absurd prices that many contractors proposed. You'll want to read this review in full before even thinking to hire this company and owner. From the outside, this business seems like the professional and high-end contractor you'd want to hire for your flooring needs, but I'm here to warn you. Beware of hiring this company and I'm going to tell you why. The workers seem like good guys, but the main problem is the owner of the business, Carl Padron. Carl comes off as the nice and decent guy who knows what he's doing and that's the first impression you'll get when you meet with him the first time, but don't let that fool you. Carl was hired to sand and refinish the floors of our new home before closing. He gave promises like "I guarantee you guys will be very happy with the results" and "the floors will look like brand new floors when they're done" and "I provide a lifetime warranty on my product and service". This was the last of the positive experience.... Once he received his deposit, things went downhill from there. First, he did not meet the deadline for the work getting done but most importantly, the floors turned out with swirl marks all over the 1,500 sq ft we had done! He was also VERY RUDE in his responses and interactions thereon. It was like a completely different person from the one we met with the very first time. He sent an "inspector" to come over to the house and take a look at the issue (he couldn't confront us himself). The inspector agreed that there's a problem but admitted that he had no say in what will be done to fix it. All he can do is report back to Carl. He also said the only thing that can be done to fix it is to redo the whole job. When confronting Carl asking him what he will be doing about it, his response was "the floors are acceptable" and "nothing will be done"! The swirl marks were all over the floors and were obvious signs of a very poor job and more like the work of an amateur. He even admitted himself that it was caused by the sanding machine. I'm no expert, but just doing a simple Google search on the swirl marks issue returns many articles talking about how to avoid this and that it's the result of a low-quality poor job (more compared to a DIY project). How can this business and Carl provide a "lifetime warranty" when he can't even guarantee his work from the very beginning! I'll let you judge from the attached photos. Please think many times before hiring this contractor and don't make the same mistake I made! read more

We had a very good experience with Carl and his installation team. They gave us a great deal on the backsplash tiles for our kitchen. After it was installed, Carl came by the house to check on his team's work and noticed that our hardwood floors in the main hallway were worn out - the floors are over 80 years old! He recommended that we resurface and replace some of the cracked boards, and since we had just purchased the backsplash tiles, he gave us a nice discount on the resurfacing work. We are very happy with the work they did in the kitchen and the hallway. I admit that Carl isn't overly talkative, but he knows his craft and we never felt like we were getting talked into something that we didn't need. Like others have mentioned the owner leaves a lot to be desired once he has gotten the deposit. Carl talks a great game but his word has little to no worth in my opinion. A big part of the problem is I do not believe he has any employees. So since all his work is "completed" by sub-contractors that he has picked but its the luck of the draw for you. My luck was not good. The subs left the Brazilian Cherry floors pretty much a mess. I was just glad they left. Carl has no apatite to talk to you once you have made the payment. At the beginning we had considered having them do some carpet work also as least I was smart enough not too. We have dealt with several contractors in the last couple of years having projects done. This was the smallest of the jobs left and by far the worst of the experiences. The other contractors were concerned about quality of work, you will not find that concern by using this company. We will end up having them redone properly. As a added note if you cant help yourself and use ProSand be certain to lock the bathroom door so they cant use it. read more

Thsiere are a couple of items that I'd like fixed (old cable holes and a transition piece from bedroom into a bathroom), but no response. If I had met the owner of the company prior to our floors being done, I would never have hired ProSand. The owner is the rudest man I have ever met. I have never spent so much money and treated so rudely. The sales woman was excellent and very knowledgeable, and set up our service to meet our renovation schedule. We had a few blips with the refinishing, but color match and finish were very good in the end. The only time we saw the owner was for a deposit pickup and final payment. We should have gotten the clue when he picked up the deposit and we should have cancelled the order. He was condescending to my husband and did not want to go in house and see the job his company was scheduled to do saying he wasn't doing the work personally, so he didn't care to see the job. Upon completion he came to pick up check and a few minor repairs needed to be done. Again, he was rude to my husband and me and would not answer questions about what is included in floor refinishing. He told me to read the warranty myself when I asked him questions about a warranty paper handed to me. I feel sorry for his employees. They are the heart of the company and did good work. Buyer BEWARE! Terrible attitude. I was told that they could refinish my floors and they do look good except for the rude man, Carl. After the floors were done, our dogs urinated on the floor and it was cleaned up within a couple of hours but left a stain right in the middle. Carl came out and was extremely rude and said there was not one thing that could be done. They should have never agreed to do our floors or should have told us to keep the dogs out for over 2 weeks to allow the finish to harden up. Just like the other reviews. The owner, Carl Pedron, was extremely rude and hung up on a customer who paid him thousands of dollars. He demanded to know my age so he could belittle me. He promised the wood would be delivered on time, but it was a week late! He made no attempt at making the problem right. He said it wasn't his problem, but in reality it is his problem because I paid him and he promised the wood by a certain date and he did not deliver. When confronted, he got exceptionally mad and hung up on me. It was honestly unbelievable how he acted towards a paying customer. He provides horrible service, as well as customer service. There are so many options when it comes to flooring. I really wish I could give a higher rating because I did like the look of our hardwood floors once they were refinished, and the employee who did the work is awesome. The customer service leading up to the job was great. We went out of town for about 5 days over Thanksgiving break and opted to pay for them to move the furniture as well. We were told the furniture would be moved back on Friday after Thanksgiving, which was perfect because we were getting back into town late Friday night. However when we got back our furniture had not been moved back yet and was filling up our entire living room. The next morning I called the owner, Carl, to see what had happened and to make sure the floors were dry and ready for the us to move the furniture back ourselves. He was extremely rude to me. He told me there was no way anyone told me that the furniture would be moved back Friday because they were closed. I was shocked! Miscommunication happens, I can understand that. But to tell a customer that they were never told something that they definitely were is unacceptable. All he has to say was, I'm very sorry you were told that, whoever said that was misinformed and I apologize for the inconvenience. But to basically call me a liar and engage in a heated discussion with me as a paying customer is so very unprofessional. Obviously there was nothing I could do, so we moved the furniture back ourselves, paid the balance, and that was that. However since then I have noticed the floors are scratching and scuffing very easily, as though the top coat isn't thick enough to protect the floors from normal use. I have called, emailed, had someone come out to look at one particular scratch we made on the new floor when we moved the furniture back ourselves, but Carl will not get back to me with a quote. It's been 2 months. It's clear to me that Carl does not value his customers, has quite a temper, and once he has his money for a job doesn't care one bit about whether or not you are actually satisfied.
