Some context on how unprofessional Todd with Professional Painting is in his communication…read more - In our initial phone call to set up a quote, he refused to set a specific time to meet, instead finally agreeing to text at some point on Tuesday afternoon to let me know he was heading over - I let him know that myself or my husband would meet him - That day, he called and texted right as he left, which occurred while I was in a work event - As my husband was delayed by traffic, which I notified Todd about, he continued to text and call about an ETA - My husband stated that during the quoting time, Todd rambled on and spent a great deal of time not focusing on the quote - Todd did not note that I needed to be at the quote nor did he ask my husband to get in touch with me during this time - He did also actually provide an amount for the quote on a slip of paper (as opposed to just not taking the job) I received the following ranting texts at 11pm that night. "I say this earnest. And honest. I took over 1hr of my time actually quoting in home. A LOT of that Due to understand 3rd party. And It took 3 gallons of gas. Over 1 hr of drive time. Additionally waiting outside home to meet 30 minutes late. I kindly request what should never happen. I wasted my time. These are my words. It is not about the gas the drive time it's about that somebody contacted me. That wasn't there. That makes excuses for the person that wasn't there on time that I implicitly understand makes decisions. This was sad and earnest. I work for professional people that do what they say. These include Fortune 500 CEOs professional athletes and extremely correct neurosurgeons that make way more money. And I Chose to show up exactly on time for our appointment. I don't usually respond this way but ... Follow up. I promise you my response was honest. You can feel free to engage me and actually question my reply However I will not engage your proxy. We had a relatively new, cheap dining table that fell apart because it was imported & designed with removable legs. Since we don't plan to move it again, we ask them to just rebuild with permanent legs. A few days & couple hundred bucks later we have a table that will outlast us.

They were wrong. David's sanders have vacuums and we had very little dust. Plus they were proactive and taped plastic on doorways and kitchen cabinets as well. They showed up on the days and times they said they would which is a huge deal these days. They were punctual, clean and organized. They paid attention to a lot of details. The original floors were a light maple and we wanted three rooms to be restained to match our darker dining room floors and David did a great job! We are very pleased with the results. We're so grateful we found Reid's Home Repair for our big basement refinish project - great work…read moreand great humans! Our home was built in 1913 and gut rehabbed in 2024. However, the basement was not finished, but had rough-in plumbing installed. We were looking for someone to finish the basement (4 rooms total), including adding an additional bedroom with closet and full bathroom. This included all electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, door installation, flooring, trim, and painting. Mike was quick to respond to my original inquiry, come check out the space, and provide a quote. He was timely, friendly, and easy to collaborate with. We changed our mind a few times on final design - we appreciate how patient he was with us while we narrowed in on the final plan. The final quote was very detailed and he provided helpful information on the areas for potential cost increase (given that the home is old and there could have been unexpected things identified after work begun). This helped us set our expectations for the project. During the project, he kept us up to date on progress or concerns and kept the area very clean (ensuring very little debris made its way outside the basement into our home). He managed all of the subcontractors (electric, plumbing, carpet, etc) so we didn't need to worry about a thing. Made it super easy by having one point of contact! His work speaks for itself. There were a lot of difficult aspects of the basement to figure out (i.e. uneven walls and ceilings, tricky vents or pipes along the ceiling, water/electrical shutoffs needing to be accessible, etc), but he managed to turn the space into exactly what we were looking for. The attention to detail makes all the difference! In the end, the project took about two months (including carpet installation) and final cost was in line with the estimate.
