While Brown didn't have the right floor look that we wanted, we liked Bob so much because he knew the business and he was so knowledgeable and helpful, never pushy. But he always returned calls as he said he would and was a true professional. Other vendors seemed disorganized, were slow in responding and frankly acted like we were an imposition. In the end, even though another company had the wood flooring that we wanted we asked Brown to order the material so that they could do the project. The crew that did the work was on time each day and very professional. They stripped and stained one room and professionally installed new hardwoods in two other rooms. Two months after the project has been completed, we have been admiring the work and showing it off to friends. Other quotes included a needless sub floor to get the new floor even with the existing tile in other parts. The Brown crew leveled the joints at no additional cost and the floor joint was perfectly level. we are so happy we went with someone that obviously knew the business and had the right crew that knew how to get the job done right the first time in the stated time. We would happily recommend to anyone and would use Brown for future work.

However, before we purchased, I spoke with a friend at work and shared my displeasure with the lack of help that I received as my husband and I shopped. I did not think that Dar would want to bother with us because we wanted to install the flooring ourselves, but she was extremely helpful. We ended up purchasing the flooring from Blakley's. It took less than two week for us to receive the materials. The staff placed the flooring, quarter round, and transition pieces in our vehicle. I am glad that we purchased from Blakley's. I called many of the area flooring companies to get competitive quotes, finding that most charged enough that I would have almost been better off replacing the floors altogether. Platas quoted less than half the price of the others, which did give me a bit of concern in terms of workmanship. My concern was completely unfounded. The team showed up and went to work. They were quick, professional, and friendly. In 3 days had stripped the floor, stained, and refinished it. I had heard horror stories about dust when refinishing hardwoods, but I had no issues with dust at all. If the floors didn't look like new, I wouldn't have even known they had come. I had close to 1000 sq/ft refinished, and I couldn't possibly be happier with the results. This is a fantastic company and their prices are amazing.

This place is professional, reasonable, honest, and fair. They are a pleasure to deal with. Lowes, Home Depot, and Menards contract out...for the same price or more and same or less quality carpet. Then on top of that it can take 3 weeks for a special order carpet. And who knows who is coming to do the job. Here I found what I wanted 8lb padding with plastic guard and soft carpets you want to sleep on. It took 7 days to deliver and was put in as soon as they could. If it wasn't for the darn holiday weekend and a prior appt. I could've had it done the day after delivery. The guy who owns it, puts down your carpet. It's like he backs up what he does. I like that in a business. On a side note, this is a truly ran family business. The installer is the owner. The guy who measures is his dad. The sales person, is literally everyone's grandma. So paying them made me feel good. How's that for service. They made me feel good while parting with my hard earned money. Do not go to Floors to Go. I can't vouch for their work. But I can vouch for the way they tried to be slick about charging me more money for my carpet by over estimating square footage, charging me for every little thing (removal, hauling, moving furniture, special staircase) and refusing to itemize what I was paying for. May be its because I was a female. Did not feel comfortable with them at all.

Our timeline…read morewas tight as we wanted to get it all laid before the movers started bringing all our "stuff". The carpet chosen was pet protect with a 20 year warranty - as long as we had proof of a professional cleaning every 18 months. Unfortunately, it appeared we got a bad lot from Mohawk and the carpet did not allow for stain removal as the guarantee had stated. I worked with Tish (who worked with Mohawk) and it was agreed it was, in fact, a faulty lot - which happens with carpet thru no ones fault - so all the carpet qualified for replacement. In the midst of planning the replacement, my roof had a substantial leak so needed that to get replaced. Following the roof replacement, the ceilings would need work in several rooms - including one being completely replaced - due to the large leak and subsequent damage. As we were nearing Winter - and life events in general - the timeline for the carpet kept getting pushed back as I wanted the ceiling work done prior to the carpet install to avoid damage/dust to brand new carpet. Tish worked with me and, even though it was an inconvenience to them, at a minimum, to continue to store the carpet, etc, they also continued to push their timeline back. Additionally, my parents live with me and my Mom has Alzheimers. Tish made certain their crew would arrive (during both days of install) once my Mom was at daycare to ensure they didn't agitate, upset or disturb her. They also made sure the area my parents live in was completed first so there was no possible disruption in the event my Mom might come home early from daycare. It is so rare to find anyone willing to accommodate all the needs that were (unintentionally) requested but Tish went out of their way to do so! In fact, Michael at Tish was the one who was considerate enough to ask when my Mom would be home so they could work around her schedule. On top of that, the warranty process was made as simple as possible by Tish and I now have a house full of brand new, pet protect carpet that cost me nothing this time around. The dogs have already tested it for me and so far, I feel good this isn't another bad lot :)
