Pile driving!
What is it?
Thick walled drill stem from the oil industry,
Hydraulically Pounded into Mother Earth until it wont go any further.
2" piles for docks, decks
4" piles for decks cabins
6" piles /houses , garages
8"+ piles for commercial buildings , remote schools.
Guardrails
Light pole bases
Retaining walls.
I had a remote property off the main road system
These guys drive to the ferry terminal ,
Shipped everything on the Alaska ferry
Drove it to the edge of my property
And went up a hill only an atv could make.
They pounded 30 piles into the bedrock below my future house.
They welded brackets and placed my glu-lam's
On top of the rows of piles.
When I'm in my retirement.
I won't be underneath my house with a hydraulic jack and a level dealing with a heaving foundation.
No cement in sonotube failures to deal with.
No cracked footings supporting walls to deal with.
Was it cheap? It depends on how you define that?
When was the last time you had to level your house because the doors wouldn't close? F- that!
Spend your time at your job doing what you do best.
To pay these guys what they do best.
You won't regret it!
The three man crew worked like dogs 12 hrs a day until they were done.
Oh yeah.
I got a welded gate constructed by their certified welder on their way out.
