But EVERYONE here is just so much the opposite of all that, that they were able to... basically offset it, so that they just never saw that side to me. Some of the other patients might have, (I dont know if they ever said anything though, it never got back to me if they did) but ever since I was a child, I dont remember ever spending this much time with such a large group of people without being involuntarily removed at some point. From the receptionists who greet you to the aides who finish you up, and everyone in between, just an overall delight. I hope I never get hurt again, but if I do, Im coming here, and I recommend you do too (especially on M-W-F)

My wife was a rehab patient at this facility a couple of years ago (2023) and I must admit that our…read morefirst experience with this place left a bit to be desired. She recently broke her leg in two places and because of the type of injury she needed to go to a rehab center once again. Rocky Mount Clearfield was not our first choice, but at the time they were the only facility in our area with space available. She has been there going on six weeks now and I can not praise them enough for the improvements they have made since her first visit. I have a hard time believing this is even the same place. The staff that she interacts with (RNs, CNAs, PTs, OTs, transport, housekeepers, etc.) have all been top notch and professional. Physical and occupational therapy has been amazing in the amount of personal care and attention they have given her. The Dietary Director has really gone out of his way to help her get the high protein foods that she will eat (did I mention she is a picky eater). Overall the current staffing has treated her extremely well, the building itself seems to be spotless and well cared for, and the food is very much improved. If she ever needs a rehab of SNF facility in the future this will be at the top of our list.

Housekeepers are extremely ghetto and talk about personal lives around residents like doing drugs and partying. Nothing is done by the book and when state comes that's the only time anyone is doing their job correctly. Time clock fraud is a big issue here. The social workers there are entitled and not nice or welcoming at all. Frankly everyone who works here is just there for a paycheck not taking care of residents the right way.

There is a nicely equipped therapy room/gym to meet most everyone's needs. The CNA's and nurses were exceptional, timely, and very responsive. One of our biggest frustrations was the administration. Lance repeatedly failed to return emails or communicate with all members of our family who were involved in my mother's care. When we did have interactions, I found his attitude arrogant and dismissive. When you are trusting a facility with someone you love, families deserve to be treated with respect, kept informed, and included in decisions regarding their loved one. After moving my mother from Thatcherbrook to a memory care facility, we were told that she appeared to have been overmedicated. Her catheter was removed the day she arrived at the new facility, and we have seen a significant difference in her alertness--she no longer sleeps all day. This raised serious concerns for our family about the care she received while at Thatcherbrook. Beyond our concerns about her care, I found the facility to be outdated, in need of maintenance, and not as clean or welcoming as I would expect from a rehabilitation center. Thatcherbrook was, unfortunately, one of the worst experiences I have had with a care facility. Based on my experience, I would not recommend it. Families placing a loved one in rehabilitation deserve transparency, communication, compassion, and confidence that their family member is receiving appropriate care. I did not feel that we received those things at Thatcherbrook. In fact I regret putting my mom there to begin with.

We even have started playing balloon volleyball in the memory care unit and the residents just love it!! One thing that is really cool to see is their point system, the residents get points for participating in activities, then once a month they have a point store where the residents can pick their favorite items from a "store" and spend their points! It is a big hit with the residents and it seems like they have a lot of fun. Sopa really does make an effort into putting things together for the residents. I would trust my family with this place, they would never be bored!

If you care about your loved one, I highly suggest that this facility be removed from your list of nursing facilities. Don't take my word for it. Go check it out and more than once. Make sure to check out all the different wings of the building. If you do choose this facility, know that your loved one may or may not be fed for every meal, he/she may not be bathed often, his/her clothes and other personal items will turn up missing (no one will care) and he/she might be getting sick quite often from the lack of poor nutrition, appropriate medical care and proper hygiene. There have been some good people there, but they don't stay because in the best terms, it is awful.
