Course was in great shape - challenging (from the Black tees) and I'm sure a blast from the other tees. Putting and chipping practice areas were on par with a private club. The short game practice area served its purpose and with a little TLC could really help this club stand out. The driving range uses astro turf for hitting areas. Just find if you want to dial in your drive but don't expect much honest feedback for any woods or iron shots off the deck. Staff was tremendous! Restaurant, bar, and pro shop were extensions of the team that staff them - well stocked and go the extra mile. Give this place a try. You'll have a great time! read more

Played the course yesterday with an outing. HORRID! simply HORRID. Green fee of $78....tee boxes and greens...sad. Sand? rocky... and the kicker was it was a SIX HOUR ROUND!!. The "golfers" in front of us obviously were beginners, with a "teacher", I assume since there were 5 with only 4 playing. It was a very painful day. Now everyone has to learn but at NOON on a SATURDAY??? To add icing to the cake?? We were told there would be food on premise after.. Nope. Post round libations (BEFORE learning there was not cook), server not to be found...she was found chatting in the pro shop. Vodka tonic for 8 bucks? No vodka and it wasn't tonic. I left it on the table I've tried this course again and again, not to mention it is an hour drive for me but never again.... read more

A very nice public course with long fairways and fast greens. Small pro shop & a nice pub that makes a good breakfast sandwich. I was greeted with a smile by Bill, who loaded my clubs on a cart and showed me the way to pro shop. Bill gave us tips for some of the holes and let us know which were cart path only. Then sent us on our way. Enjoyed a nice round of 18 under 4 hours. Definitely my go to course in Wilmington. read more

Literally only downloaded yelp so I could rip this place after yet another 3 hour after work (teeing off around 4:30-5:00pm) 9. Looking for a place to get a quick 9 in in the evening? Hell, looking for a place to get 9 in at a reasonable pace (2 to 2.25 hours)? Look elsewhere. I signed up for the rock card at the beginning of the season because the course is between work and home and what a waste of money that was. The course constantly sends out singles and two domes in the evening, doesn't employ a starter and also makes no effort to group up singles and doubles when pace of place falls behind - even after calling the pro shop! For the money, literally go play anywhere else in SE PA or northern Delaware. read more

Was is in good shape, greens, fairways, bunkers etc. Guy in the pro shop and the starter were friendly. However $69 to play on a Monday in April is insane. Course is probably over priced by $10-$15. Entire place is boxed in by Busy roads and interstate. Tee times only 10 minutes apart is a recipe for disaster. Constantly pushed all day even though we we're ahead of pace. 4some behind us was hitting up constantly. You know the type...$300 worth of golf clothing and a $2.15 swing. Ranger came up to us on the 9th tee and told us to get moving. We were a 4some on the 9th tee in 1 hour 45 minutes. I asked him "what's the pace for 9?" Reply "2:05". So then why bother us if we are exactly on time!!? "There's an open hole in front of you". Yea because the group in front of us went off 25 min before we did!! I hate slow golf but I'm not going to be rushed when I'm right on time. And how do you make pace of play for 9 2:05 when the tee times are 10 min apart!! The math is impossible! The 4some behind us (clearly tour caliber players) then skips the 9th hole...goes to 10 then proceeds to hold us and everyone else behind us up the rest of the day! There was no where to go!! Then they were nice enough to hit 2-3 tee shots each after line driving balls into the trees. Course was nice, overall experience was terrible. $70 to be rushed by a ranger then slowed down by a bunch of clowns. Spend the extra $19 and take the drive to Glen Mills. After a few rounds here I'm comfortable saying, the morning Starter is horribly temper-mental and brash. Took issue with our group size even though we had scheduled separate tee times. Played us together but gave us HELL for it. We didn't ask or want this, we simply gave in to get him to calm down. Customer service is key and when a group is spending over $300, employees should learn to bend and not break. This guy is over the top and needs a reality check. You're here for the players, we are not here for you. read more

Be careful out there. Today when it had heat advisory, there was no , yes no water in the last 5 containers we checked. When I mentioned it to the office at 430, he only said "well there's water out there now". He didn't give an f about anyone. Doubt I'll be back The greens weren't in bad shape read more

Great course and layout but the overall management of the place with pace of play is horrible. We had 3 of us play Friday afternoon and the course was so backed up that on the second tee, actual hole 11 as they switched the front 9 and back 9, we had a 2 some join us We played a 5 some for 5 holes, then it was even more backed up at hole 7 so we had 2 more people join us. I play often, and I abide by the rules, but we had a group of 7 playing together. 5 carts all lined up and it was faster with 7 golfers then any other way. In fact we had the start come out to us to apologize for the slow play. I nicely told him that was why we did not come back for 2 months as the first time their this year was a 6 hour round as well. To make it laughable, a manager, was on hole 8 while we were on hole 9. So the course is obscenely slow.......9 holes in 3 hours......we never saw a ranger at all, and one of the managers is out playing golf instead of questioning why we have 5 carts and a group of 7 players teeing off at the same time. The course is great, but they really need a ranger to push people along....Great courses are Deerfield, Odessa, Frog Hollow, Back Creek and Chesapeake Bay....play any of them and you don't have those problems. Rock Manor-----You won't see me or my money anytime soon. 2 rounds with you this year and both times it was not fun. We were so fed up, we left after 9 holes...and I love to play golf..... read more

Very nice layout but the overall condition has deteriorated in the last year. Lots of divots in the fairways. But my main complaint is their greens. It could rain for a week (which it has) and their greens would still be hard as cement. Don't even try a 50 yard run-up shot. The ball will just roll off the back of the green. My other complaint is their greens do NOT run true. I have actually seen balls break UP HILL. $70 for this course (weekends) is too steep. Would NEVER pay full price for here. read more

This was my first ever course I have golfed on it is a beautiful course with some difficulty. The fairways were maintained well the first time I played in April but the last time in September they needed some work. The greens the same. There is some holes where you tee off over a Ton of weeds which was difficult for me being a beginner. If you can place your shots the same holes are a Ton of fun. The carts have gps on them so you can gauge your distance properly. The driving range is so so but they offer a chipping green and sand traps to practice on. There are others nicer in the area but this is still a beautiful course. Prices are in the mid 60 range for mornings and 40 for Twilight. read more

Although this is an enjoyable course that is well maintained, slow play brings it down 2 stars. Great, friendly staff. Food in the clubhouse is pretty good. Good and beverage cart is well stocked and makes its way around the course so you will easily have it pass by 3 or 4 times a round. I have never played here without being frustrated with the constant waiting on just about every hole. On weekends you should plan on 5 hours or more to play 18. read more

People who review golf courses on yelp for the most part don't know anything about golf. Bad place to get a true assessment of a golf course. Rock Manor would get five stars if it was a little less busy( not their fault) and a little less pricy. Layout is great, condition great. read more

Rock Manor worst golf experience in the area. Today we show up and they tell us front nine is closed. Play the back twice. Get on the back and the greens are covered with sand. Really covered! Finish 18 and go back to 10. Five - count 'em - five groups in front of us! Absolute disregard for the customer experience. We won't be coming back. read more

Nice golf course. Played it February 29 from the back tees which are only 6405. Good routing and good green complexes with 'fair' undulations, best holes are 3, 4, 9, 14-16 with #15 as the best. This course is likely too easy for low handicap players due to its lack of length but it's a good course for 5-15 from the back tees and a good course for higher indexes if you choose the right tees. I would recommend it. read more
