This is a golf course for a non-player. Not manicured or well taken care of. Don't waste your money.

Now I really like the course as I know how to play it. I recommend spending a few extra dollars on the course yardage book and also you must play the correct tee box for your handicap. If you play the wrong tees on some holes you will really not have fun. The greens are very hard to describe , they are very challenging and have large mounds and slopes. It is important to know where the pin positions are and if the greens were fast they would be impossible. They keep them on the slower end of the spectrum, probably around 8-9 so they are playable. I usually putt very well on the bent grass greens here. It is a great place to play a match in match play format, a high score in a hole or three is inevitable. The 19th hole is great . Good food and drinks.

I finally had a decent round of golf this year. Lederach is in good condition. The rain has created…read morea nice green course. The key to scoring well at Lederach is chipping and putting. Greens have very few flat areas. Pins are in tough spots. Golf is getting expensive. I bought a season card for $39 which gives me a discount Monday-Friday. Regular weekday rates are $65.00. They have senior and military rates. Lederach purchased new carts last year. They have an area to hit balls and a large putting green. They service drinks and food at Leddy's Pub. You might want to try the Big BLT..it's good. Enjoy your game and have a good round.

Super easy to make a tee-time. Go to the website and chose the date/time/number of players and after creating an account, you're done. Sort of surprising that they don't make you put a card in to hold the time like several other courses do on their reservation portals, but because of what comes next, I understand why. buttervalley.teesnap.net/ A few observations: Make sure you read the fine print that the rates listed are cash only rates. If you're paying with a card, you will eat their processing charges. The course for being in January was in about as good of shape as you could expect. Good amount of mud along the pathways between holes, most of the greens were like concrete, most of the cups were filled with ice, etc. Supposedly, we had the second tee time of the day, yet magically, there were already four groups of four out playing. Hmmmm? The first few holes were log jammed but eventually the spacing thankfully improved on it's own and things got better. Here are my two pet peeves. None of the markers were out. Orange tee is where? White tee is where? The yellows were there but anything else required a bit of guess work. Here's the biggie. The yardage for the holes. The score card says X. The stone marker at the hole says Y. A few of the holes (a few par 3's from what I remember) have a marker in the ground at the tee which says Z. Why is it this confusing to just list what the yardage actually is versus having a 20-40 yard swing? Conceptually, Butter Valley is basically the cousin to Sawmill in Easton. Is this course really 4 stars? Probably not, but, I'll give it to them because they stay open year round which is a plus and you cannot beat their winter pricing to walk 18. We'll be back.

Needless to say very unhelpful staff and definitely changes my mind on going back anytime soon, next time if this happens we'll just play through the dark and see how they like it.

Lots of fun from whites. Although traditional yardage for my hdcp would be blue, it's way too hard to go from there, tee it forward just a shade and you will enjoy this more- difference is only 300 yds, but makes a big difference as the landing areas on some of these tight par 4s is very small What I didn't like, I just could not get accustomed to the sloooow greens. I do not need Augusta fast, but my putts and chips were actually stopping on downhills, it was so weird, very green, but not rolled at all. Also, the turning par 4s are somewhat gimmicky, it's like two par 3s, hit to 150 marker then hit to flag. Architects will say, you have to think you're way around, but that just a way to explain away a poor design or lack of space to build a proper hole. I do agree with other posts that newer golfers will struggle, forced carry is everywhere. The cart gal saw us on #4, so we were good, but never saw her again when we were hoping to spot her. Oh well, that's being picky, it's fun and quirky and if you loop around in under 4.5, it's a pretty good day all around. Last: the cooling towers in background is just weird.

Greens were fast today. There is a nice restaurant to get a sandwich and a drink. It was $52.00 with cart to play which was the price for a senior. Plenty of parking. If you like a slightly more difficult course I suggest you golf Raven's Claw. The gold tees for seniors was par 71 at 5371 yards. Check out Raven's Claw online for tee times. Enjoy!

Review of Twin Ponds Golf Course…read more We had a 12:04 tee time with my husband and two 16-year-olds who are just learning the game. Because the course was packed, we played best ball to keep things moving -- and still, we were waiting on walkers in front of us at every tee box. Mind you, we were playing from the reds. By the 4th hole, the group behind had caught up. I explained we were waiting on walkers, only to be told we should "take longer between groups" because my husband hits long. Ok, noted. On the 6th hole (a par 5), we had to wait at least ten minutes for two groups ahead of us to clear. When it was finally our turn, we played our best ball into the middle of the fairway -- just a short pitch to the green. As we were setting up to take our next shots (literally as the walkers in front of us stepped off the green), an older couple came flying up in a cart, shouting that we were "slowing the whole course down." When I tried to explain the obvious -- that we were waiting on the groups ahead -- the man cut me off with, "We are the owners." Instead of showing any courtesy or addressing the poor scheduling, they picked a fight with us -- in front of my kids. Here's the kicker: on the 8th tee, after being told we were holding everyone up, my husband teed off a little quicker than usual. He drove the ball onto the green in one -- nearly hitting the very group in front of us. Someone could have been hurt because we were now anxious and in a hurry. My take, Mr. and Mrs. Owner: Your course is one of the worst-kept around. You're cash-only, which feels more than a little questionable. In an area surrounded by golf courses, you'd think you'd treat paying customers better. If you don't want backups, manage your tee times instead of berating families who are actually following etiquette. And Mrs. Owner -- maybe check your lipstick before shouting at patrons, it was all over your teeth and cheeks. Bottom line: you ruined what should've been a fun round for my kids. We'll gladly play elsewhere.
