The property is absolutely AMAZING and the cabins are above and beyond in every way possible. Each cabin is unique, but each has its own kitchen, refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffeemaker, outdoor relaxation area, and all are within a 3-minute stroll of each other and the main residence. We stayed at the cabin called "The Barn" and could not possibly have asked for anything more. In addition, we walked the property visiting the beautiful gardens with event areas and gathering spaces. If you are looking for a quiet getaway or a place to host your wedding, reception, graduation party or just about any event where you want to be one with nature in a magnificent setting, Laughing Pines needs to be on your list. 02 Apr 2023…read more Reluctantly we go home today. Our two-day stay has been idyllic. This is the word that sums up this bed and breakfast. As stated before, the owners are nice, perfect hosts. They are welcoming and accommodating. The breakfasts are better than even those in the best restaurants. The selection of Keurig coffees is ten-fold. But it is the tranquility that makes it so hard to leave. Sitting on the back yard river decks, we saw hawks, cardinals, sparrows, pigeons, ducks, herrings, humming birds and woodpeckers. Someone's herd of cows comes down to the river to drink and then return home. Also, kayakers row by and wave to you. Taking in the sunrises and sunsets almost made us regret living in the city. They are so beautiful at the Perry River House. Go there.

She provides golf carts to get around the property which is riverfront on the Blanco River. She has grills and chairs there. She also has tubes and stuff. My favorite thing to do is fish!! They are always small but I always catch something and that is what is important to me! My first stay here was probably 8 or so years ago and I keep coming back and it never disappoints!! The breakfast and we had three were fantastic especially the stuffed French toast. I could've just moved in, ha ha. Janetta told us about Georgetown and it was really cute and glad we went there. The B&B is in a small town just outside of Austin. So you can get to any place pretty easily. We even drove to Fredericksburg spent the day and came back with no trouble. Highly recommend

But from the moment we arrived, it was clear that--while still beautiful--the inn was showing signs of wear, a faded echo of its restored glory from 20 years ago. What we liked: The property retains a nostalgic charm, with antiques adorning every corner. The hosts greeted us warmly and shared a bit of the inn's history. To their credit, they did warn us that the older electrical circuits might cause occasional flickering lights. What we didn't expect: Lights turning on and off by themselves. The television powering on in the middle of the night. Bed sheets being pulled off us while we slept. Feeling as if I was being touched and it wasn't my husband. The paranormal energy was far more intense than we'd anticipated--and ultimately, we decided to cut our trip short. Other concerns: The pool was dirty, and while breakfast was tasty, it was surprisingly sparse. As someone who's stayed in many bed and breakfasts, this was the first time I've encountered a buffet-style setup with no table settings, no water service, and a limited selection. We left both hungry and unnerved. Speaking with locals we learned that stories abound about hauntings in Gonzales.

I found this place as I googled for B&B near where I was going to sky dive. They had a few sleeping options but we opted for the cottage a 1 bedroom cottage that sleeps 6 comfortably has a wooden patio with seating, AC, a cable TV, bathroom & mini fridge & micro. Clayton, the owner, gave me tour & as I walked the farm I couldn't help but be overwhelmed with the smells & it wasn't manure!! The roses, herbs & other flowers, amazing how many times I stopped to; "literally smell the roses". As I toured what stood out was the meditation labyrinth, the drum circle room, the party barn & the tree houses. These folks have thought of everything! Have kids? Well they will love the animals, treehouses & swings. Love nature? You'll love the vegetable garden, flowers & thoughtful sitting areas. Are you a hippy? Then you'll love the meditation labyrinth, drum room or fire pit. Maybe your a big family or want to have an event? They have an awesome room they call the party barn with pool table, shuffle board, full bar, kitchen & thoughtful decor. Enough of my stereotyping but you get the point, they have a variety of activities to suit almost anyone. We were planning to go to the nearby state park but after settling in & seeing what the farm had to offer- we didn't need to move. Probably more amazing then the surroundings & thoughtful activities are the owners themselves. Marsha is a talented artist & Clayton a sort of renaissance man himself were very welcoming. We struck conversations right away & within a hour or two were invited to join them & another couple staying on the farm for dinner. It's so refreshing to get to know humans that reach out to others, people that don't make you feel like strangers. If you are close or even if your not & desire a retreat from the norm both scenically & socially, try Waits farm retreat. I think you'll be happy you gave it a try.

This place was so unbelievably peaceful and serene and the owners Clayton and Marsha were absolutely amazing and now have become part of our little family! They were very welcoming and it didn't take long for us to invite them to hang out and spend time with us. Two of the best people I've met, the grounds were beautiful, the cottage was adorable, just what I needed to relax and get my mind off my hectic city life.
