This place is fantastic!!…read more We have gone here multiple times and never disappointed I guess the only thing I don't like is the random people hanging out in the parking lot. But it is a college town so it's not the worst thing. Definitely recommend

I'm not usually a huge ice cream person, but it felt like the perfect way to honor her. The shop itself was bright, clean, and welcoming, with several people already enjoying their treats. We grabbed a high table by the front window, which made for some great people-watching while we indulged. The menu immediately caught my eye. The range of flavors wasn't just broad--it was creative, unique, and full of options you don't see every day. That foodie spark kicked in, and I knew I had to go with a flight so I could taste a few. (Brilliant idea, by the way--four little cups of different flavors!) Our picks were: Grilled Lime Burnt Honey Crunchy PB Jelly Espresso Mascarpone Lemon Biscotti Brown Butter Pecan & Praline Each scoop came with a color-changing spoon (such a fun touch), and every flavor was creamy, consistent in texture, and absolutely delicious. My favorites were a tie between the Espresso Mascarpone (though I think it could stand strong without the lemon biscotti) and the Brown Butter Pecan & Praline. The Grilled Lime Burnt Honey was bright and unique, and the Crunchy PB Jelly was tasty but leaned a bit sweet for me. Overall, this was some of the best ice cream I've had--flavorful, high-quality, and true to its name. Add in the kind, helpful staff and the clean, cozy atmosphere, and it made for a really special stop. I left not just with a happy palate, but also with a new tradition: every year on August 22, I'll seek out a new ice cream spot in honor of my grandma. Amy & Alex's was the perfect place to start.

3.5 overall Located in downtown Sharpardstown, the Blue Moon…read moreCafe offers an assortnent of salads, sandwhiches, wraps, burgers, and entres. We were seated right away and the waiter took our order relatively quickly, then bately checked back in. I ordered a cup a soup to come out before my sandwhich.....it did not arrive at all. No apology when I told the waiter. We were seated by a large window that was extremely drafty, so much so we had to put our coats back on Sandwhiches were good, though nothing special. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Street/Meter Parking. We have heard great things about the spot, undecided if we will give them another chance. What we ate: Reuben - Corned beef, sauerkraut, russian dressing, melted swiss cheese on marble rye bread. Served with chips & a pickle Rachael - Smoked turkey, sauerkraut, Russian dressing, melted swiss cheese on marble rye bread. Sweet potato fries My rating rationale + .5 Service + .5 Food~Taste/flavor/quality + 1 Presentation + .5Atmosphere/vibe + 1 Value

It's obvious why Blue Moon Cafe is popular: 1) Big menu with…read moresomething to please anybody, including vegetarians. 2) Reasonable prices. 3) Nice atmosphere with lovely outdoor garden seating or the nice indoor "glass room." 4) Friendly, efficient hosts and servers. 5) It's in Shepherdstown and there's not a lot of casual restaurant competition. ... but that doesn't make it a great restaurant. The sandwiches and burgers are ... fine. The salads are... fine. Nothing terrible, just not great. Everything seems to be an almost-very good version of what you've ordered, but with something not quite right. Potatoes on a Greek salad, a Reuben that's not grilled, a ookie that's big but lacking in brown sugar or vanilla flavor, or pears on the pear salad that came... from a can? That's a 3 star restaurant.. Dependable and pleasant enough but in no way a destination.

Their delightful indoor patio.

Blue Moon Cafe - "Large" Greek Salad. It was fine, but oddly was more potatoes than salad. Not recommended as a meal.

Onto the service, our server Danica was GREAT!! She explained everything on the menu, was quick to get our drinks and refills, as busy as it was she didn't rush us to order and talked to us. The food was delicious! I started with the French onion soup to start, it was great and topped with not only the cheese it had fried onions on top which gave it a nice crunch. I followed that up with Sauerbraten with a deep flavorful sauce, red cabbage and potato dumplings, Yummmmmm! After all that I gave in and ordered the apple strudel ala mode, very tasty, and a nice crust! Overall the whole experience was great! Worth the hour and a half ride. The Bavarian Inn is a must try, once you do you'll want to keep coming back. Enjoy!!

And if you notice on street view of the older location, it was most likely because of a competitor coming in right next door and building a brand new store. So they decided to close this location, move up the road, and build a bigger store. I was in need of getting out of the DC Metro area and I find it best to do my shopping this way. I am almost guaranteed to find what I want and be surprised at the same time. That is basically what happened when I was heading to my destination when I came upon this Sheetz. My visits to Sheetz have dwindled in recent days without having immediate access to several of them within minutes of me. I am sure they will remedy this soon enough with the way the expand, but for now, I have to hope I stumble upon their locations when out venturing. When I saw the familiar red awning I had to stop. Mostly because I had been in my vehicle for quite some time. I was in need of stretching my legs, getting some air, and using the facilities. With this being a newer location I was able to find a spot close to one of the entrances and away from the pumps. You can read that as ample parking. Inside is a spacious place to do your thing and roam about the store. Facilities were clean and up to date. Snackage was ample, sweet tea was abundant. I did my thing here and was definitely able to refresh myself for the remainder of my trip. Sweet tea in hand I headed outside to take in some cool air and stretch these legs a bit more.
