Today my daughter and I went to donate clothing to Value Village and a full sized boxed truck from Treasures in Heaven was in line in front of us. Once they pulled up to the unloading area it and started to unload in became apparent this was a loaded full box truck, unloading for well over 30 minutes while cars piled up in line and the driver and passenger did very little to assist in the unloading process while the entire VV team worked their butts off. I doubt the fact people are donating to this Christian organization and simply having it turned over to Value Village is what people donating are hoping for. This is also incredibly rude behavior on behalf of Treasures as the line is nearly out of the parking lot, people are abandoning the line foregoing donating. Many of the boxes are taped shut so the VV workers have to open them prior to accepting them slowing the process further. Treasures is dumping their unwanted inventory at the Issaquah Value Village, holding up the line, hogging up the employees and inconveniencing dozens of people simply trying to do a nice thing. I'm writing this review because I find this behavior extremely unbecoming of Treasures and likely deceptive to those donating there, furthermore it is inconsiderate on multiple levels.

DELAYED REJECTION ENFORCEMENT = CHAOTIC/DISORGANIZED HANGER HANGUP I donated to this Goodwill literally hundreds of times over several years. They had always accepted all manner of scrap electronics, scrap metal, and all clothes hangers. When I tell them that, I'm told this had been the policy for some time, but only now they're beginning to enforce this "new" policy. This is not the first time this has happened. Also I was told hangers should be organized according to the various types of hangers. Huh? I see donations piled high and deep on either side of the two donation lanes in no particular order. And also they load up those blue carts in no particular order. And now they expect everything to be organized, or just hangers? LET US KNOW ON SITE, NOT JUST ON YOUR WEBSITE Now I will have to find someplace else to get rid of scrap small appliances, scrap metal, and plastic hangers, to keep them from going to the landfill. My partner and I recently fostered a dog named Max through Regional Animal Services of King County,…read moreand unfortunately our experience ended in a way that has been extremely difficult and upsetting. We first encountered Max months earlier while showing a home to clients. He appeared severely underweight and in poor condition, so we contacted Regional Animal Services to request a wellness check. The owners ultimately surrendered him, and wanting to help, we later signed up to become foster volunteers so we could give him a chance to recover in a safe home. During the week Max lived with us, we experienced him as a very sweet and gentle dog. As he began to settle in, his personality really started to come out. He loved going on walks and would wiggle with excitement when he saw his leash. He also got along well with our resident dog and showed no signs of aggression in our home. When Max developed signs of an ear infection, we contacted the shelter and were asked to bring him in for a veterinary visit. Upon entering the shelter, Max clearly became nervous. And during that visit an incident occurred, and he was placed into quarantine. We were later informed that due to his decline while in quarantine, the decision was made to euthanize him. This outcome has been heartbreaking for us. We stepped forward to foster Max because we believed he deserved a chance to heal and eventually find a loving home. In the short time he was with us, he showed us a kind and affectionate personality that we will never forget. While we respect that shelters must sometimes make difficult decisions, the way this situation unfolded has left us feeling deeply saddened and frustrated. We wish there had been more communication and consideration of the dog we experienced in our home before things escalated to this outcome. Because of how this experience was handled, we have made the difficult decision that we will no longer volunteer or foster through this organization. Max deserved compassion, patience, and careful evaluation. We will always remember the sweet dog who came into our home and quickly became part of our daily lives. The evening of class, I tried to get there early, evening fighting through rush hour traffic. What I didn't count on was how f'ing difficult it was to find parking. I grabbed my gear bag and ran into class about 15 minutes late. I knew from their website that they gave permission to come late or leave early. As background, depending on the school coming late is anywhere from a minor faux pas to an egregious trespass. Despite knowing this, I was expecting to just sit out and just watch or knock out burpees or push ups. Instead, someone came over when there was a break in the class. I got briefed on what to do and was allowed to change in the back and join the class. Tom and Aaron were there but they just said to call them by their names, again depending on the school titles are a big thing. The class was fun, the rolls were challenging and I learned a couple things. Moreover, I stuck around until closing and got to just sit and chat with Aaron and apologize for my lateness which was totally brushed off as not a big deal. If I'm ever visiting again, I'm going to head back up there-it was enjoyable physically, mentally and socially.
