Great shrimp tacos and guacamole. I think this restaurant is deserving of more than 3 1/2 stars. My MIL recommended it and I was a little nervous when I pulled it up and saw the rating. Being that we were going to see a movie and I wanted Mexican, I figured we might as well check this place out. I was starving when we sat down. We ordered guacamole and cheese dip to start. The chips come with salsa and a weird white sauce. (Btw my MIL loves the white sauce, so to each their own). The guacamole had chunks of avocado and was delicious. I'd get it again. The cheese dip (which they actually do call cheese dip and not queso), was also pretty good. The chips are a bit heavily fried and could use more salt, but now I'm just nitpicking. I got the shrimp tacos and they were great! I was a little worried ordering seafood, since my husband kept reminding me that WV is a landlocked state, but it tasted fresh. The avocado and pico that came on it were good additions. My husband wasn't a huge fan of his carne asada tacos, so future Brandon, this is your warning to order something else. He thought it was weird that it just came with the meat (he was expecting lettuce or something else on it). The refried beans and rice on the side was pretty good. I got a skinny margarita and he got the house margarita. I thought it was a bit weird that the skinny margarita came in a regular glass. It was ok, but nothing spectacular. We have been coming here since we moved to WV five years ago. Worst visit we have had. We sat at the bar. It was around 2pm. Very slow. We sat there several minutes before anyone spoke to us. A young gentleman walked up and asked if we knew what we wanted and I replied menus would be a great start. It was our first lunch visit so we never looked at the lunch specials. I ordered the lunch Chimichanga. Menu said it was $9.99. I didn't ask for anything to be changed or added. When I got the bill it was $11.99. I know it was only $2 but it was still $2 and the chimichanga was about the size of a half of a dollar bill. I wanted to ask about a spicy margarita that was in special a few times that we have had several times but the young man just seemed new so I had water. My girlfriend had a cheese quesadilla. The menu said it came with rice and she did not get any. Mine chimichanga was served first. I waited for her to get her meal before I started. It was a good couple of minutes that we both waited. Not a good experience. There was only 2 of us. I'm not sure why we couldn't be served together. read more

I do wish the chips were heated rather than being served cold. My buddy also ordered some cheese sticks and they tasted like they came out of a box. Main course was good but quality and taste of cheese sticks and cold chips have compelled me to give them four stars instead of five. We just came here for lunch and I was really impressed with the interior of the restaurant, the food, and the service. We got the chicken tortilla soup, steak street tacos, and the black bean tostadas and all of it was delicious. I couldn't stop eating the white and red salsa with chips that they bring out when you sit down. And our server was SO ATTENTIVE, such a good experience! My wife and I came to try the new location. When I walked in I was blown away. This is not your typical Mexican restaurant with the typical decor. This is a fancy Mexican restaurant. There is a wait to eat here. That's a good thing. The greater was so professional and courteous. They use a system where they text you on your phone and you can check your place in line through Yelp. How cool. I found a seat at the bar while I was waiting on my wife and ordered a beer and some chips and salsa. The bar tenders were working at a fast pace and doing a damn good job. The bar was spacious, clean and comfortable. My wife arrived shortly afterwards and we decided to just remain at the bar to eat so I was able to cancel my place in line through Yelp. The menu has everything you would expect from a Mexican restaurant and then some. I really like that they have a lot of fresh grilled options. Especially seafood and fish. Kudos to Roca for bringing the Mexican flair with a expanded menu option. We decided to order the fajitas texacanas for two. It came piping hot and piled high. Very fresh with a lot of flavor. There was more food than we could eat. The guacamole on the side was fresh and delicious. My wife and I had our 6 month old grand daughter with as we decided to eat at Rocas around 6:00pm this evening. It was raining as we arrived and walked in to be told that there would be a 15-20 minute wait, which we didn't mind at all. What was upsetting was that there was empty seating available that honored the 6 foot social distancing requirement. I asked the host if we could sit there and wait. Really awesome place for classic Mexican fare. For starters they literally give you complimentary nachos with salsa and a sweet ranch dressing - excellent! Yikes. We arrived at 5:05, I'm able to write this review at 5:55 while still waiting on our food. Started out with margaritas, which we were surprised to find their house margarita mix has orange and cherry juice in it, confirmed by our server. They did comp one of the drinks. We never received refills of the chips and salsa in over 2 hours of being there . The kids drinks were never refilled. The salads came out and looked really great... until they brought out ranch dressing packets like what you'd get in a gas station or cafeteria. It was watery and ruined the salad. {Foods here... well, some of it) The entrees then came out in 5 minute increments. So the kids came, then 5 minutes later a few more plates, then 5 minutes later the final plates. We were missing tortillas for the fajitas. The taco salad shell was burnt on the top and sides and soggy on the bottom. The ground beef in the tacos was fatty and not well seasoned. The fish tacos had great flavor and were cooked well! No hot sauce on the tables. No napkins at the table at all. It was a mess. Our server was trying it seemed (maybe she was new), but we didn't see her as often as we should've and there was entirely too much time in between being seated, ordering, getting the food, and being closed out. Restaurant was clean and well decorated. Seating was comfortable. Parking was simple. Wait was short. We were a party of 10 on Tuesday, May 28th after my daughter's High school graduation. There was a few other graduation parties there. The restaurant only had 1 waitress working the whole restaurant! We were there for over 30 minutes before our order was ever taken! It was not the waitress's fault at all there is only so much 1 person can do. It's the owner's and management's fault for only scheduling 1 waitress for the whole restaurant all evening. I spoke to the manager when leaving and she said she was just an interim manager and didn't make the schedule, but did confirm only 1 waitress was scheduled it wasn't a case of someone calling off. Our bill was over $200 with terrible service had we had good service the bill would have been the same! More people need to post reviews and refuse to go back to places that do this. We visited this restaurant for the first time today and I'll be honest, I expected generic Mexican food. Thankfully, I was wrong! Our visited started out excellent with our server, Zack. He was extremely helpful and friendly. He recommended some fantastic dishes and drinks. I ordered the Camarones Locos and it was excellent. The portion was perfect for the price. Food was good. I must say first that we had a party of 20. Tried to make a reservation and they don't do that. Went in expecting a large table so we were all together. I've had other restaurant do this by rearranging tables. They didn't do that either so we were split up into two tables. The one waiter they gave us was awesome! He tried his best to keep up with everything. That said, everyone was served...except one person!! They hadn't prepared the food yet!! Everyone was about done eating before their food was delivered to the table. At most restaurants if this happens, they 'comp' that meal ( a whole $14). They don't do that either.
