So my girlfriend and her close friends meet here every single Monday and I have had the opportunity to join them on several occasions. I never give anyone the perception of liking or disliking this establishment and probably never will, as far as she knows I'm completely indifferent.. truth is she doesn't really use yelp so I feel I can come clean on here.. I have this pair of pants, call them my comfy cozy pants, anyone who knows me well would never think that I care about any article of clothing, but I do, when I wear these pants, I'm happy. If someone stole these pants I would dedicate my life to being a private investigator just to hunt down that sick emotionless turd who stole my beloved leg holsters. This restaurant makes me feel the way my sick pants do, just pure comfort and happiness. I'm not a wise and experienced food critic, I'm just an average guy who really like a smooth pair of slacks, some two dollar margaritas, chips and salsa, and a big ol veggie burrito. None of these things by themselves are transcendent.. but put them all together.. heck yeah! Don't go in here expecting to have the best meal of your life, think of it like slipping on your favorite comfy cozies, wrapped in a blanket, binge watching Ted Lasso on a Friday night. Great Mexican place. We got small cheese dip and regular bean dip, perfect portion for couples who really go to Mexican for the chips and salsas. Service is your typical Mexican restaurant. This was probably the worst service we have ever gotten at a restaurant. This is no exaggeration, we ordered a large queso with our chips and immediately ordered our food when the queso came out. The queso was a solid block of cheese by the time we got our food. Our waitress never gave us refills, never gave us another basket of chips we asked for and forgot about our fried ice cream. I live in a state with 15 million Hispanic folks and I've gotten accustomed to some pretty remarkable Mexican food. Love this Restaurant and the people. Go here all the time for family dinners and casual dinners. Julio is fantastic owner who always makes sure things get done right. Everything on the menu is delicious, and I've never had my order come out wrong even once, through the seven years I've being going there! My favorite thing to get are the Quesadilla Texanas, which ALWAYS put me in a better mood. I'd recommend this place to anyone who loves good quality food, service, and quality people! Go ahead and schedule that double lung transplant, Tic-Toc Tire appointment, go as a walk-in to the DMV during their busy hours, take a little road trip out West and turn around...because that's how much time you'll be waiting at this establishment for your waiter (Julio) to come back around. I suggest you look at the menu prior to arrival, and as soon as you're seated, place your drink order, food order, request a to-go box, and your check because boy, will you be sitting there for an hour waiting for someone to check on you. Food is mediocre of a Mexican place, fresh, tasty, heart-clotting deep fried food (depending on what you get). The place has a distinct smell-- dish washing liquid. Wait times have happened more than once, of course I will return. Who won't return to one of the very few Mexican restaurants in your town? Bring a board game for you and your significant other...work on your homework at the table, have a seat and watch a whole TV series, hell, even ask your nail guy to come in and get your nails done at the table, have Kroger deliver your pick up order, because you'll be there all evening and night to witness time actually pass by! read more

We had lunch there today and the queso was like milk. It had chunks of unmelted cheese in it and we asked for another batch but we were given the same container after it had been microwaved and it was still quite thin and runny, to the point it wouldn't stay on the chips. I had The General and was very pleased w/ that, however. The queso is the worst I've ever had. They've either changed their recipe or changed cooks. Please disregard Tivon W.'s review. I was sitting beside these 'children' who were extremely rude to the staff. One guy in their group didn't even pay his bill. Our waiter is wonderful, and it's sad that these kids ripped him off by dining and ditching. Absolutely uncalled for. 3 amigos is a wonderful restaurant with great service. We eat here often. I have been a regular here for probably four years, so I had to give this place some love. I have eaten here with 10 or so different people, and they all really enjoyed it. You should visit on a Monday for 99c margaritas. They have had Margarita Mondays for as long as I've been visiting. The food is nothing flashy or pretentious, but is ALWAYS on point. When I first moved to the area, I was looking for a place that was very family friendly and made me feel welcomed. Once I ate here, I just couldn't stop. I come back time and time again, always trying something different. It's nice to have people who know who you are and are always the nicest. The food, I would highly recommend trying their Pollo Loco (Crazy Chicken). I love getting it, especially with adding Chorizo. I love their queso dip and their cilantro salsa - they have 3 different types of salsas (regular, cilantro, and hot) and also have different types of sauce for your burritos/enchiladas (burrito salsa, enchilada sauce, chipotle sauce, and mole sauce just to name the few I have tried.) They are also a PokéStop!!!! As for the other reviews I just wanted to say, you can have your food however you would like at this place. If for any reason someone doesn't know what comes with an item, ask Julio. He works every day but Tuesday currently and he will make it happen! read more

I started coming to 3 Amigos in 2013 for the 99c margarita Monday specials. Although I lived almost two hours away at the time, I liked to come to Barboursville to visit family in the area and have a good time. It became a sort of tradition. All the times I have ate here it has been a pleasant experience. Nothing sticks out about the food as far as being unique or original but if you like Mexican restaurants like this then you will feel right at home. Food is always hot and exactly as I ordered it. Its good for Mexican cheese dip is ok tacos decent its fine for dinner I kind of like it, but there's one problem, sometimes they have Univision on. Its ok for spanish speakers but i cant understand a word they are saying on that channel, now sometimes they have tbs on but when sports like fifa are on they put it on Univision. So if you don't speak Spanish you'll get ready to get frustrated with what they put on. read more

I was going to give it 3 stars but after dessert, I had to drop it to 2. Chicken enchiladas were decent. Only one sauce choice... a red sauce. Wasn't bad, wasn't spectacular. I'm a pushover for mole but was told that they only came with "enchilada sauce" *shrugs*... moving on. Chips and salsa were okay... a few were stale. Salsa was middle of the road. Beans and rice were so-so - better than any place I've been to in New Jersey but that's not saying much because New Jersey mexican is gross no matter where I've been. The knife in the back was the flan, though. I absolutely, positively feel that flan is the perfect dessert... creamy, rich, sweet, heavenly. I just bit into mine and it was BURNT. How the hell does a respectable establishment serve a burnt dessert?! Come on people, get your act together! Oh well... I won't be frequenting this area too often so I'm not going to lose sleep over it... just $2.50 plus tax and tip... it's just disheartening that they'd serve me a lesser version of my favorite dessert... even crappy flan is good flan but burnt flan is just nasty! read more
