Let me first say thank you to all the reviewers who steered me to Dr. Adam Roca. I had an abcess in my tooth that led to a root canal this morning. I am terrified of needles and had been anxious about the procedure. I experienced virtually no pain/discomfort during the root canal nor afterwards. Dare I say that the root canal was a pleasant experience? It was and I cannot recommend Roca Dental more highly. I have been apprehensive about going to the dentist all of my life. I have found the dentist that for the first time in my life is going to make me look forward to going for a visit. read more

I had just been told that I needed Inivalign to correct misalignment when boom, Roca Dental offered a Groupon for it. With the positive reviews here on Yelp and its very convenient location for me, I felt confident in going to them for this treatment. Dr Roca told me up front that Invisalign couldn't correct the problem I have, and I need traditional braces. I definitely appreciated that. But he couldn't wait to hustle me out the door. Should I go to an orthodontist or what? I need a dentist, but he didn't seem to want to me for a regular customer. This is an excellent dentist's office that I highly recommend. The front desk staff were immensely friendly and helpful to me as a new patient. I had to make an appointment a few weeks in advance, but it was still WAY better than other dentist offices telling me there would be a 3-4 month wait for new patient appointments. I should point out that I have just gone in for a regular check-up/cleaning so far and haven't had any additional work done, but I also left feeling very confident that I will never get duped into unnecessary work at this office. (So many of my colleagues with the same insurance have gotten ripped off at other places in the area!) Beware!!! Stay away from this clinic!!! All they care is your money!!! My family moved from California to Arlington, VA in August, 2012. We wanted to find a dentist that we could trust like we had for the past 10 years. Dr. Roca seemed to have a good review. So I made an appointment for a regular clean up. What a mistake! The space he had was not clean and his skills were only So So. What I didn't know was that Dr. Roca charged me on a procedure that I did not know and he never asked my consent! He said if there is out-of-pocket cost, he would let me know. And what a LIE! I got charged for extra $70 dollars. I called him and he only said "Sorry" and would not revoke the unexpected charge. OK, I learned my lesson and bye-bye Dr. Roca. You will never have me, my family or any of my friend's family as your client. So Beware!!! Stay away from this clinic!!! I can't begin to describe how amazing this team really is. I found Dr. Roca a few years ago when I had a painful cavity, on the 4th of July. Dr. Roca responded immediately to my emergency call and came all the way back from his vacation to fill my cavity on the 4th!! Ever since then, I have and will always go to this office. Both dentists are extremely knowledgeable, and trust me, I've had a whole gamut of procedures including Invisalign (amazing result even though I had a tough case for this type of treatment), wisdom tooth removal, cavity fillings, and of course, cleanings. Great experience for my first visit. Hadn't been to dentist in awhile due to bad experience at my last visit with another dentist. I had Doris for my hygienist and she was an absolute doll (ask for her if you have dental anxieties). I saw Dr. Roca (senior) and he was just as nice. He seems more conservative with recommendations which is exactly what I wanted. I had less issues to fix than I thought I would. Can't complain about that! read more

Receptionist is RUDE! I thought I would call and schedule an appointment. I asked the receptionist if they were accepting new patients and she said yes. Then she begin to inquire about what type of insurance I had. I told her Aetna and she responded that they were probably out of my network and I told her that couldn't be true because they were listed on the website as one of the preferred in network providers. After hounding me about my insurance I explained that I was looking for a dentist to examine some swelling on my gums that was being aggravated by my invisalign. I was then interrogated about how I could afford invisalign and what insurance paid for that. When I tried to get back to my goal of scheduling an appointment, she cut me off and told me that I needed to go to the orthodontist to fix it (something which obviously orthodontists do not do). I attempted to explain to her that the area of the swelling had been a previous problem before the invisalign but she continued to talk over me and wouldn't let me get another word out. I was looking forward to meeting the dentist after seeing these reviews but did not even get by the receptionist. So disappointed. read more

I was a client of Roca Dental for 5 years so I couldn't believe the way I was treated at the end. Until I had insurance, I paid out of pocket and in full with every visit. I have had insurance for the last couple years and on my last visit Dr. Roca he suggested I get an xray done. After the xray, it wasn't a clear diagnosis so Dr. Roca told me he'd work up some different options and get back to me. Upon check out that day I was told I had a $200+ balance from 3+ years before??? I didn't understand how that could happen since I always paid in full, my dental hygentist was also present and stated the same to the receptionist. I was told they had a "new" system and it found this bill from 3 years before. I paid the bill but just didn't feel real comfortable about it. I never received any options from Dr. Roca after my xray as promised, but I did receive a bill from them, apparently my insurance didn't cover it even though I was never told this was a possibility. I paid that bill as well after calling Dr. Roca and saying that I still had not received the options on the xray that I was now paying out of pocket for. LAST but not least, I just got a call from a collection agency for the xray bill!!!!! Shocked and in disbelief I pulled up my bank account and gave them the cleared check# and date. Unreal! I would not recommend this dentist practice to anyone. All they are in search of is money, not actually helping patients. Stay Away! read more

This unassuming office in Arlington has the best dentists and dental staff. My wife and I have been going for years to get our teeth cleaned and other dental maintenance. They care about and are honest with their patients. Not long before headed here I went to a DC dentist downtown that felt like going to a used car salesman with all that they recommended, but Roca has never been anything but wonderful, and never pushed any procedure or product. read more

I started coming to Roca Dental about 10 years ago, having heard good things about them from several colleagues. It's a wonderful, small practice - modern and clean, always on time with appointments, extremely professional, friendly and knowledgeable staff. They have their own designated parking spaces in the building's lot so it's never a problem to park. Both of the dentists - father and son - are fantastic. Wow, I'm soooo impressed with Dr. Roca!!! While flossing this morning, I had a crown (put in by a different dentist a few years ago) pop off. I logged onto yelp, hoping to find a dentist close to my office. Dr. Roca's practice popped up with rave reviews...so I decided to give them a call. From the time the receptionist answered the phone, I knew I'd found my next dentist! She was super friendly and very accomodating. After explaining my situation to her, she looked thru the calendar to see when they could fit me in. She asked for my name and a contact number, stating she'd call me back in less than 5 minutes. Within 2 minutes I received her call, stating they could fit me in today if I could arrive within 10 minutes. Since my office is right down the street, I jumped into my car and headed over. After completing new patient paperwork, Dr Roca greeted me with a warm smile and friendly handshake. I was in and out within 30 minutes! He explained what he would do, asked me about my comfort during the re-cement process, etc. Once he was done, upon thanking him for fitting me in, I received another warm handshake. The lady that took my payment was equally as nice and friendly. We conversed shortly about a few common hobbies, etc...and I immediately scheduled an appointment for a cleaning and new patient intro. Dr. Roca and his practice was able to accomodate me, with a moment's notice...and I wasn't even one of their patients! From the phone manner, my experience with the doctor himself, and even thru close-out and payment...everyone was super professional and made you feel like you were a longtime friend. Read the reviews that aren't recommended (why? People can't be honest?) I went to Dr. Roca for invisiglines before there were any groupon deals. Paid full price. The invisiglines worked well however the permanent retainer was too small. I contact Dr. Rocas office to make an appt to get a bigger retainer, they never called back. Called another time to speak to Adam Roca, he never called back. Just got a bill for the too small retainer. A YEAR later I got a letter from their attorneys in California, asking for the price of the retainer and a late fee. I called Adam Roca again to speak with him, never got a call back. In the mean time my teeth have shifted back, with nice little gaps in between the teeth where they were shaved for the invisiglines to fit. I am speaking with his attorneys and I will post this on every internet platform I can find. Thanks for the waste of money and time, Adam Roca. read more

I am deeply grateful for Dr. Arnaldo and Adam Roca to help me overcome my dental emergency. In October I rushed to his office in order to check a very painful toothache, I was diagnosed with a root canal problem, Dr. Arnaldo promptly answered my major questions, gave me the necessary prescription medication due to my allergic issues, his staff sent me to a specialized DDS at the Virginia Hospital on his behalf in order to solve the main source of that pain; after I had that first step done I returned to his office to have my permanent crown molded. I was assisted by Dr. Adam Roca, during this process and I can say that he is really GREAT!!!!! He was, focus, precise, very polite, attentive to details, explaining me every single step and how he would proceed. He dealt with my list of questions related to my health issues. The Staff is very professional, friendly, fast and very efficient. At the front desk Brenda helped me a lot with my agenda and other issues related to prescription and insurance coverage. We had seen Adam at the Bar in Old Alexandria, hanging out with his BBF. Any who he was like I'm a dentist and handout his business cards to us. The good PR he is! I was like yeah, I'll think about, I thought it would be weird for me, since I know Adam from WP High School. But, about a year later, our current Dentist had dropped the ball and didn't remind us of our 6 months cleaning, so we as took as a sign to check-out Adam Roca D.D.S. But before deciding to go to Adam Roca, I've been with my dentist for 10 years, but like I said before he had dropped the ball, he was starting to slack off. He was a great dentist, but from 2003 he started to care less about his patients, and only worked two days out of the week making it difficult to schedule appointments and when you made appointment it would be his dental assistant that would take took care of you. It was becoming a little annoying. So my husband and I called Adam and he scheduled us right away. And we got there he was the sweet old Adam. He made us feel very comfortable and he was very professional. He was helpful with hints on how to take care of our teeth, which we think is always nice, to get friendly reminders on we can take care of teeth, even at our age. We loved it!! I have been going to Dr. Aurelio Roca since I was about 10 years old and he is by far the best dentist ever!! He is so gentle when examining my teeth, it's like silk. The man should've been a brain surgeon. :) I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone. This is a family office with his wife at the front desk and now his son Adam is working there too (I have not gone to Adam yet). Dr. Roca is so nice and is always very professional. He never makes you feel like your teeth are in bad shape, but gives you great advice. You even get a nice packet of toothpaste/toothbrush, etc when you leave. I've had very positive experiences with Roca Dental. I first started going here in September when I decided to get Invisalign. From the beginning I felt comfortable and in the loop with my treatment plan. Dr. Aurelio was always patient with all of my questions and eased my nerves during my treatment process. Luckily I was able to do Invisalign express and finished up my treatment recently, and am so happy with my straight teeth! The receptionists, dental hygienists, and Dr. Aurelio and Dr. Adam are great and so nice! I am always able to get an appointment at a convenient time for me as well, which is great. I am a former patient and I have to tell you that I was in 5 different offices before I found the right dentist, Dr. Adam Roca. He will educate you about you teeth instead of doing the scare tactics. He will save your teeth instead of pulling them out and putting bridges or implants...In previous dental offices in Arlington I heard things like, you have to do this or that because you will get cancer, or you need to put implants, bridges and pull out 7 teeth because of this and that...And I knew they were lying because I had a great dentist before I moved to Virginia so I was already educated about what is wrong with my teeth and what have to be done and what I can live with for the rest of my life...If I would listen 5 different dentists before I would loose 7 teeth and had to put 10 implants....Yeee, my teeth are bad but not that much...It was about 4 years ago and so far thanks to Dr. Roca I have all my teeth in place, no extractions or implants. And I did not get cancer because of my baby tooth...Yeee, I still have the little one....BTW, the dentist who told me to put implants was wrong, she would not be able to do that...so I would be toothless after the extractions...Nice....Definitely, avoid Arlington Center for Dentistry...you will loose half of your teeth....Choose Roca Dental instead.......and you will never regret... read more
