Not pleased with 2 experiences. First was a bad battery. Probably not their fault but car also had the wrong size battery. I'm not sure if this was done by them or previous owner of vehicle. It should have been pointed out though. Someone changed the clamp to match the smaller battery.
The main issue I had with them was over fuel lines that also damaged the brake lines. I was led to believe work would take only a few days. The main mechanic designated for such work was out. They actually tore into the problem before authorised & were vague over repair cost. An experienced mechanic/owner should be able to cough up a #. No work started after several days since mechanic wasn't back. Still not done 1 week later. This was very frustrating as the vehicle was needed & I was getting the run around. This was not complicated work but much easier to do in a shop. Owner doesn't appear to do any of the actual work as the vehicle wasn't touched until the mechanic the owner wanted to do the work was back. He was always in the office when I came by & never seemed dirtied. Since the story of why the mechanic wasn't back changed over time, my suspicion is the mechanic was in trouble of some sort & it took longer than they hoped to clear up his problems.
Day 10 I was going to have the car towed to another shop & they finally produced a fixed vehicle.
Scope of repairs was less than thought yet bill was high. Especially considering the run around & time they held it. The bill wasn't itemised. I should have pressed for a proper time accounting but paid it & made sure to note never to go there again. read more
