I would recommend Rob for small simple jobs that can be done in one visit and you're not concerned with quality, because he's inexpensive. As other reviewers mention, Rob will for some reason become unresponsive to calls or text messages. This happened to us when we had a slab leak in our house. After waiting for a couple of days, I was forced to call another plumber to complete (Rob rerouted one hot water line that he claims was leaking, but the line he didn't reroute was leaking badly) the slab leak because the water was starting to cause damage to the flooring and areas nearest to the leak and we could not wait any longer. According to the plumber that took over the slab leak job, the hot water line that Rob rerouted is not up to code. He used plastic pex which is exposed (besides some insulation) along the garage wall, and he put it through what's referred to as a fire separation wall. Apparently, I'll need to have this redone to pass a home inspection. read more

What can I say about this Guy?! I went with Rob's Plumbing based on reviews and how fast he was able to come out and take care of the situation. We had just purchased a house that needed some updating. My First call, take care of the install of a new kitchen faucet and replacing the old garbage disposal, replaced in no time. I found Rob on Google & called for water heater tank replacement. He quickly understood the issue, made thoughtful suggestions & was ready to take care of it the following day for a reasonable price. My tenant reported that he showed up exactly as scheduled & replaced the tank. When she found soaking wet rag by the tank after he had left, I called Rob concerned that there might be a leak. I paid him $3,000 and it was immediately money down the drain, if you pardon the pun. I had to have ALL of his terrible, leaky plumbing removed and replaced. It was that bad; so, I paid $3,000 to another plumber to start over. I bought three new Moen values at home depot for $300, and he installed BROKEN, used valves. I took extensive pictures of his mess. He subsequently sent me dozens of texts demanding MORE money and threatened a lawsuit and putting a lien on my house. I STRONGLY recommend finding another plumber. Don't be fooled by his promises or non-existent abilities. He's simply the worst plumber I've ever come across. Good luck. read more

My experience with Rob and Rob's Pluming in Oxnard is a complete Nightmare. I don't understand how he got so many good reviews. Rob from Rob's Pluming started the job, did not finish, and left my elderly father and I without running water on Wednesday November 25, 2015 and Thanksgiving Day November 26, 2015. Rob showed up stated that he has 25 years of plumbing experience and convinced us that he was the right man for the job. On the afternoon of Wednesday November 25, 2015 Rob showed up in a Ford Mustang without any tools. He asked to borrow pliers. He worked sporadically and even asked my elderly father (83 years old with heart problems and a hernia) to go outside to turn the main valve on and off several times. During the job he received several calls from people regarding a beer drinking get -together at his house. People called and he said, "Yeah dude I am working to finish up the job'". It turns out Rob was unable to block off the old pipes and connect the new fittings. I am not sure if he was here for 2 hours. He became frustrated and said he had to go. I said what about us having water like you promised? He said that there was some problem with the pipes and the fittings. It seemed he just wanted to take off to join the get-together. I said, "What are we supposed to do without water"? Sorry that is the way it is. Rob then offered to put my father and I in some hotel for the night. That was not possible. I am physically disabled, I have severe spine injuries and I am unable to sit upright to drive or to be a passenger. Rob was made fully aware of my health condition and my elderly father's health condition before agreeing to take this job. Rob also had the audacity to say, "Oh you guys expected to have water over the next 4 days?" I said, yes you said that we would have water by the end of today, you never mentioned anything about turning of the water for 4 days." I even suggested to Rob to start the work after the Thanksgiving Day Holiday before he even started so that some special arrangements could be made in case anything goes wrong. But no he has 25 years plumbing experience and said that we would have water by the end of day. I told him several times, before he started the job, that I spend most of my days laying on the floor and that I am only able to leave the house approximately 5 to 6 times per month, usually for doctors for myself and my elderly father or to go grocery shopping. Rob even had the audacity to invite me to his house for the beer get-together despite the fact that I told him that I do not consume alcohol due to the strong pain medications that I have to take every 6 to 8 hours. I don't know what the was thinking. Before he left, Rob promised that he would be back to connect the pipes and fittings at 9:00 am on Thanksgiving Day November 26, 2015 and to have the place ready for him. He did not clean up and left in his Mustang convertible. I spent a lot of time on my knees cleaning up the wet drywall on the bathroom floor and various debris on the runner carpets in the living room and the hall-way. The pain in my back was so bad that I could not sleep most of the night. I could hardly walk using my crutches. Then I had to move everything back into the closet and off my fathers bed so that we could lay down to rest for the night. In the morning I took more pain pills and on my knees moved everything out of the closet and onto my floor bedding and my father's bed. 9:00 am came and Rob from Rob's Plumbing in Oxnard did not show up and did not call. Finally around 9:30 am Rob called, and I said in a raised voice, "Enough of your behavior of not even calling", Rob hung up the phone. I called the owner of the property, my mother, and told her what happened today and yesterday. Rob called me back some time later and was upset that I told the owner of the property about his behavior. Rob said, "What do my personal phone calls about the beer get-together during work have to do with anything?" I said, "everything." At that point Rob said, "Fuck You", Fuck You Dude" several times and hung up the phone. I recorded this conversation with Rob and played it back through the phone for my mother (the owner of the property) and for the general contractor. So here I am with my elderly father without any water on Thanksgiving Day. Not able to take a shower, not able to use the toilet, not able to cook food. I am writing this lengthy review while laying on the floor and my father is eating some crackers or cookies. Again, I have no idea how Rob from Rob's Plumbing in Oxnard got good reviews. My situation is a complete Nightmare. I say run away from Rob and Rob's Plumbing. Hire someone else that is serious about plumbing work, someone that is responsible truthful and courteous. I called this company yesterday, talked to an operator and got an immediate call returned. We arranged an appointment at our condo last night at 6:30 P.M. which I thought was awesome. At 5:45 P.M. I got a call and he stated that he needed reminders for the address and appointment time. 6:30 P.M. rolled around and no one showed up. By 7:00 P.M. I cancelled the call as this was not the beginning of a good working relationship. I had an appointment at 7:30 P.M. and as I was walking out the door, the doorbell rang. Someone I did not know (it was not the person I had spoken to on the phone) informed me that he was there for the plumbing call. I informed him that I had cancelled the call and he stated , "He had just found out about the job 15 minutes prior". Rob was running slightly behind schedule due to a previous client, however when he arrived he was friendly and professional. He took his shoes off at the door as he saw that my family does as well (we have a shoe basket just inside the door to keep the floors & carpets clean). He knew exactly what was wrong with my shower and said it was a simple valve replacement as the problem is common with the style of Moen shower fixtures that we have in our house. He explained the repair process and went about his work. He was done in a matter of fifteen minutes. When he was done he explained that the repair had a lifetime warranty and even gave me an extra valve for the shower and recommended that we change it again in about a year. He said that we would be able to find a "how to" video on you tube. Don't use. Rob came to our home to fix a water heater and fix the washing machine drain that was backing up. 5 days later the drain backed up. He missed 2 appointments without a call and now will not return our calls. We had given him a cash tip when he was here, and he said it was first in years. I have never had worse customer service ever. He says his work comes with a guarantee, but he doesn't come back or take your calls. Very disappointed and believe we deserve a refund for the drain. Contracted Rob's Plumbing for replacing the 3 wax seals. Rob arrived on time. He was very efficient with his work regarding the downstairs bathroom. Rob discovered, and showed me some leakage at the base of the two upstairs bathroom which caused damage to the wax rings. He was able to offer a solution to replace the wax rings in order reinforce the base of the toilets properly. Overall I was very pleased with Rob's work, and his integrity. I am so so happy, our sink had been out of order so to speak for over a month due to a previous plumbers mistake to snake our plastic pipes with a drill the pipe broke and was leaking into a tenants wall below and out of one of her electrical outlets! Rob was extremely helpful and affordable! We needed the water turned off to get our washer installed and he showed up right after getting off of the phone with him. He proceeded with the task at hand, plus installed our washer and only charged $30 dollars (when all other plumbers charged a minimum of $60 to just come to our house). When he noticed that we were just moving into our place, he offered to help us with tasks that went far beyond his normal job. I own the Lookout Bar & Grill in Oxnard, and as such, we have plumbing emergencies far too often. Recently, a leak developed on a supply line at 3 in the morning. After calling multiple plumbers who said they were 24-hours (but clearly were not!), Rob answered the phone. As a business owner that is dependent upon his plumbing, I have come to consider Rob an invaluable part of my team. We hire Rob's Plumbing to do the work in our house due to his presentation and the price. He never come on-time, always 2-3 hours late. We should call him several times to find out if he will come. Last time we call him to fix some problem from his work, he promiss to come but never did. We call him several times - no answer, we sent him a text - no re-ply. Someone stay home all day for nothing - the plumber never came and the problem neve fixed. Besides to come and fix the problem, he called my husband and treating him that we can't delete his advertising - it was a surprize to us bacause we was not aware of this. After he treaten my hausband, I file a negative review with BBB. If you would like to spend you money and time for nothing- this is your guy. Unfortunately since my review Rob has continually harassed me and my husband with threats by phone. He has threatened to have my home destroyed by inspector (I have this on my voicemail). This is what my review is about, professionalism which continually shows there is none with this company. What type of person or company none the less, calls in retaliation? When we text him to find out where he was one time he said he was just around the corner, then we didn't see him until the next day. He would say that he would be at the house at 10am then he shows up at anywhere between noon and 1pm or even never come. If he finally came, he tried to do the work fast and constantly broke something else - the gas pipe, for example, or permanent disconnection water from the back yard and sprinklers (I have all evidence to proof).
