We had an amazing experience with Bryce and Lvl General Contracting. Our bathroom was completely…read morerenovated from the studs up, and the transformation is honestly beyond what I imagined. This wasn't just a cosmetic remodel. The bathroom was completely gutted, and the electrical and plumbing were updated and reconfigured, including relocating the light switches and adding new lighting. We removed the old bathtub and created a beautiful walk-in shower, enlarged the shower window, added a built-in bench and niche, and completely updated the tile, flooring, vanity, fixtures, and finishes. The tile work is absolutely beautiful, and the attention to detail throughout the bathroom is incredible. We were able to choose everything we wanted, and Bryce and his team brought our vision to life even better than I expected. One of the things I appreciated most about Bryce was how involved he was throughout the entire project. He came by every day to check on the progress, and he was hands-on with the work himself. He was always easy to talk to and approachable, and whenever we had a question, he took the time to answer it. He was also very transparent and upfront about costs, and if something unexpected came up, he communicated with us honestly. Every person he brought into our home was professional, respectful, and considerate of our space. Bryce also worked really well with my husband, and I appreciated that they were able to communicate openly and make sure everyone was on the same page throughout the project. At the end of the day, the quality of the work speaks for itself. I am absolutely blown away by our new bathroom and couldn't be happier with the finished result. If you're looking for a contractor who is honest, professional, knowledgeable, hands-on, and genuinely cares about doing things the right way, I would highly recommend Bryce and LVL General Contracting. We definitely found someone we would trust with future projects in our home -- and honestly, I think we made a friend along the way too. Thank you, Bryce, for bringing our vision to life!

Late on a Friday evening, we discovered serious floor damage beneath our tenant's bathroom toilet after it was removed during a plumbing repair. We had added urgency to repair it ASAP since this is the only bathroom in the property. We received a few competitive quotes but ultimately chose to move forward with Bryce because of his thoroughness, attention to detail, promptness, and professionalism from the very beginning. Throughout the entire process, he took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of our questions/concerns, was proactive in finding solutions, and made us feel confident that the work was being done correctly. The quality of the work was excellent and his team worked efficiently to complete the project in two days. On top of the emergency repair, we also decided to update the vanity to match the new floors. Bryce went above and beyond by helping us with materials and design choices late on a Saturday night. The final result turned out great and we're very happy with how everything came together. It can be difficult to find trustworthy, reliable contractors in this industry, which made us even more grateful to have come across Bryce and his team. Most importantly, we wanted to find someone we could continue working with for future projects, and we definitely did. Highly recommend Bryce and his team!

Armando and his team replaced our kitchen, and all of the flooring throughout our home. He did such a great job that we called him again to update both our bathrooms and do a lot of projects throughout our condo, including putting up ceiling fans and dimmer switches. It is a good thing that we went with Armando and his team, because he had to do major rewiring in our unit to get our electric up to code. Apparently, both the plumbing and the electric were not done correctly when the condo was first built. Now we know that we do not have to worry about either our plumbing or our electric, because the South Cal Construction team fixed then both for us!!! And, they were very reasonable in how much we paid them, they quoted us much better rates than all of the other contractors we got quotes from. Thank you Armando and South Cal Construction, Stephenie and Jeremy Chongco

Each day I'd see the crew come and go having made tremendous progress. We needed woodwork done on our patio so we asked our neighbor for a referral number to their contractor. Armando came out the next day. Wrote up the estimate on the spot. Wow! Fast. Fair price. We hired him. He said his crew would show up the next morning at 8:30 a.m.. and they arrived right on time. In fact, they arrived both days on time. He estimated the work would take 2 days. Even tho we added a few extra tasks . . . a new gate, new indoor/outdoor carpet in the patio & front porch, additional woodwork, a new light fixture in the garage . . . they still finished in 2 days. MOST IMPRESSIVE: 1. Armando's outstanding personality. 2. No job too big or too small. They worked for almost 2 weeks at the neighbor's house. Two days at ours. 3. Fair price. 4. Professionalism by Armando and his crew. As they finished each task, I'd check the work and Armando would consult with me to ensure I was happy with their progress. 5. Clean working environment. They protected our carpet & furniture. Cleaned up after themselves. Nothing left behind. No stray papers. No cartons or debris in our trash can. No paint stains in the drive way or walkways. 6. Worked very quietly. They removed wood and added new wood but I didn't hear much banging or sawing. We're very pleased with the quality of the work. We had a vision, and Mike brought it to life!…read more We've tackled our fair share of remodel projects over the years, but nothing quite prepared us for the leap into a complete, ground-up ADU build. We knew this wasn't a project to hand off to just anyone, we needed a true expert, someone who could steer us through every twist and turn with confidence. That's exactly what we found in Mike. From our very first meeting, Mike had a calm, reassuring presence that told us we were in good hands. He listened closely to our vision, asked the right questions, and laid out a clear path forward that immediately put our minds at ease. And trust us, our minds needed easing, we came to him with a steady stream of nervous, sometimes repetitive questions, and he never once made us feel like a burden. He answered every single one with patience, warmth, and genuine reassurance. Communication was a true highlight of working with Mike. He kept us updated at every stage, so we always knew exactly where things stood. What could have been an incredibly stressful, all-consuming process instead felt manageable, even exciting. He also took the reins on coordinating with city inspectors throughout the entire build, handling all the back-and-forth so we didn't have to lift a finger. That alone lifted a massive weight off our shoulders. And the icing on the cake? He finished the entire project ahead of the estimated timeline, without ever cutting corners on quality or care. If you're on the fence about a big build like this, let us save you the trouble: call Mike. He turned what could have been an overwhelming experience into one we're genuinely grateful for, and the final result speaks for itself. We couldn't recommend him more highly.

Mike applies his experience well with smart changes to the plans that we wouldn't have thought of, and was flexible when we had questions or changes to make. Mike and all of his crews were professional, courteous, and very accommodating (we lived in the house during construction!). Where is the 10-star button?!? I cannot recommend Max highly enough. After firing the design…read morebuilder I originally engaged, Max stepped in to complete a full remodel of our little HB cottage. What was once a tired and dated 2-bedroom house is now an adorably modern and expansive 1-bedroom, complete with spa-like bathroom and vaulted ceilings. Unbelievably, the project came in on time and on budget.

Our electric cooktop and hood broke many months ago, and we thought that replacing it with a gas…read morecooktop and new hood would be straightforward. It turns out that was not true. One plumber could install a gas line only, another plumber could install a gas line and the gas cooktop but not the hood, and an appliance installation technician could not install the cooktop because he could not cut into the existing granite top. So I found Max of MRI Construction and Remodeling on Yelp, and he said that he could do the work within that original scope -- cooktop, hood, and gas line -- but that we should anticipate a backup plan in case the granite cracked during installation. Because we plan to live in this house for as long as possible, we decided to go through a full kitchen renovation. We had a prior experience with another general contractor who was impossible to get a hold of and who could not ensure the quality of the subcontractors he hired, and interviewed another general contractor who gave us the impression that we would have to engage with suppliers and subcontractors more than seemed feasible. We are happy to say that we just finished our kitchen renovation last week! And it was finished a week earlier than scheduled. We are thankful to Max and his team of subcontractors! We are really happy with the final kitchen, given how much we cook at home. And surprisingly the process was easy despite its size and time of 6 weeks. Max has the strengths and qualities you want for your construction projects: he's incredibly responsive, honest and communicative, and willing and able to troubleshoot issues that come up, as they invariably do, both small and large. He makes recommendations if you ask and gives you options for decisions for which there are too many options. He works with an amazing group of subcontractors who are experts in their craft. There was an exception with one subcontractor but Max was able to get that course-corrected so that the project finished strong. We appreciate his integrity and his willingness to ensure that the project meets your needs and expectations. We are grateful that we found Max on Yelp and for being able to work with him on a kitchen that we love and also within budget!! Thank you, Max and MRI Construction!!
