That fee includes a whole house eval, which was then used to try to sell me every kind of upgrade possible. Since I paid the fee, I used the opportunity to ask about some electrical codes for things I'm considering doing myself, and there was no hesitation to price it out for me in case I wanted the work done. When it came time to present the potential options, they were presented as financing options--definitely a sales tactic to get me to commit to spending on these extras projects, which would have been triple the cost of the one thing I called them for. My idea of a good contractor is one that presents options with honesty and warns me when something is a problem, and this was opportunistic. I'd look elsewhere.
