Very tasty, nicely seasoned meat, and they give you a lot of it. Fluffy pita, good amount of tsaziki. Personally, I think their gyros is made perfectly. And they're always consistent.

It was suggested for us to make reservations so we did. We arrived about a half an hour before our reservation and were seated promptly. Everybody was very nice and allowed us to basically sit where we wanted. Our waiter was very attentive, and took care of all of our needs. My wife got the Gyro Platter with rice and Lemon Potatoes. She loved it. I got the Gyro Pita with a side salad and my son got the Gyro Pita with fries. A friend of ours got the Chicken Souvlaki with Lemon Potatoes and we all lived our meals. For dessert, we all got the Chocolate Brownie, which had some whipped cream on top, and came warm. It was absolutely fantastic! We will definitely be back, but even for nights where we want to eat at home they have carryout. Give it a try. Nice place, delicious food, and very nice people. You can't lose.

The Dip Sampler and the Meat Sampler are standouts. The Dip Sampler has a variety of yummy dips and warm pita. Hummus can vary a lot in different restaurants, and this one is good, creamy with not too much garlic. We both enjoyed the Meat Sampler at our first dinner and took home leftovers - nice variety of meats. It comes with a good basmati rice but you can also choose a salad or French Fries. Gotta love a place that offers you both! This visit, I had the Moussaka Entree (gluten free) which was a special that night. It was tasty with no spice that overwhelmed the dish. Nice size slice with a salad with tomatoes. My husband had the Chicken Kebob which came with three skewers of chicken and salad (instead of the French Fries). We both took some food home especially after the Dip Sampler. We arrived around 5 pm and got the benefit of the Happy Hour price of $2 off a draft beer ($6 instead of $8) and $1 off the martini. The baklava has a generous supply of nuts, and I have enjoyed the Baklava Cheesecake at home for dessert. The restaurant decor is relaxing and attractive with thoughtful touches like a little table for your purse or to put your leftover containers on. The metal artwork tree, wicker lamps and paintings on the wall contribute to the cozy ambiance. Service has been prompt with someone coming over to greet us quickly. For my espresso martini, they had run out of espresso, but someone went to buy espresso from a coffee shop instead of telling me to order something else. Aleko's is a lovely, neighborhood gem. It is also on Resy for reservations.

Our server was awesome too. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome without checking on us every two minutes. I also found out they have live music on Friday and Saturday nights. I'm happy to say the food's as good or better, with good service in an interesting setting. On crowded Massey boulevard with its strip malls and chain restaurants, it takes a keen eye to pick out this spot (hint - look for the Hobby Lobby parking lot). Then get ready for some unusual decor - the last occupant, a seafood place, did a LOT of intense decorating, including ocean-blue floors and dock pilings. We've visited this location 3 or 4 times now, and the food's been fine, partly out of our sentiment for the gone Frederick location. It's not hard to find Latino cuisine around here, but Mexicali had some of our favorites, including the delicious chiles rellenos (here, fried battered chilis, stuffed with cheese). When we went last week, it seemed clear they'd recently stepped up the game a little - new dinnerware and maybe even larger portions, and just as tasty if not more so. As usual, the chips were crispy and good (though our basket was mostly fragments) and the house salsa is a treat, fresh and zippy but not too hot. I had my go-to Azteca combo, with that chile relleno, a pork tamal, and a chicken enchilada, along with Mexican rice (though no beans this time, for some reason). My wife chose her favorite shrimp fajitas, also with beans and rice, though maybe a little skimpy on the bell peppers this time. My classic margarita on the rocks was big and zesty. Our server was attentive and polite. The crowd was thin on this Saturday night, so there were plenty of staff on hand. In an area with tons of Latin food choices, we depend on the consistent flavor and service here. Bueno!

Their order actually arrived a little too early, so they didn't get to enjoy the food at its best, but they still liked it enough to convince me to give this place a try. I ordered a sandwich, and I have to say, they were right! It was really tasty and definitely worth trying. The prices are a little on the higher side, but I was happy with the quality and flavor. I had asked to dine in, but my order was prepared for takeout. Maybe I wasn't clear enough when ordering, so I didn't make a big deal out of it. The cafe itself is nice, clean, and has a pretty cool interior. The only real downside is parking. Finding a spot nearby can be a bit of a hassle, but other than that, I enjoyed my visit and would happily come back to try something else.

Jack was our server and he was knowledgeable, friendly and prompt. The restaurant has a full bar and makes a very good filthy martini. Tip: there's a speakeasy Burnt Secrets in the basement. It's seasonally decorated. Good selection of drinks. They take reservations and walk ins. Must stop for a drink after dinner.

The gyro meat, for example, was freshly carved and very tender, but I ordered it on the "Aegean salad," and it was SOAKED in a very acidic and chemical-tasting dressing that made it impossible to taste. I complained and got another bowl to drain off the 1/2-cup of excess dressing. I should've demanded a fresh dressing-free salad. Maybe I'd try the lamb souvlaki or the moussaka next time. The chicken was overcooked and dry and lacking in flavor. The rice was mushy and also lacking in flavor, and clearly had been cooked in far too much water. Bland or Overpowering? Those seem to be the two choices here. The green beans aren't advertised as spicy, but they were exceedingly so -- the last thing I would've expected to be a heartburn special. Don't order them if you are sensitive to spice or acid.
