I've only ate there about 4 times for either a salad or a burger and they're really good!! I'm sure everything else is good as well!!

Pleasantly surprised by Bistro 221. It's in a very small town along I-95, and you wouldn't…read morenecessarily expect much - but it delivers. From the first phone inquiry to the experience in the restaurant, the people were genuinely polite and welcoming. The atmosphere felt calm, relaxed, and easy. The food exceeded expectations. The Cobb salad was especially good - fresh, well-balanced, and thoughtfully put together, with healthy ingredients and no bacon, which I appreciated. The shrimp tacos were excellent, topped with a slightly sweet/spicy, mysterious sauce that worked really well. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!!!

We had lunch here for the first time today. They have street parking or parking in the back. There…read moreis a bar area, general sitting area or a few tables under a cover porch for nice days. The staff were all very polite and friendly. We were seated quickly with drink orders taken. It took a few minutes to get the drinks, but thats OK. A larger table was seated before us so its all good. We placed our food order of the Loaded Fries for an appetizer, 2 Killer Club sandwichs(pesto on the side)with fries, Secret Philly with onion rings and the Blackened Fish Tacos with the chips salsa and queso. The Loaded Fries were delicious! Plenty of bacon and queso on them. The Philly was delicious, onion rings hot and crispy. The kids loved their Club sandwiches. They were HUGE and the kids could have easily split one. The Blackened Fish Tacos were the only negative on our trip. They were pale colored, hardly warm, and the slaw was soggy. Honestly they were aweful! My husband tried a bite and said it tasted like it was from yesterdays trash. I have seen tons of good reviews on them so I'm not sure if they have been changed or I got them on a bad day or what. I hate sending food back, so I just ate them. I tried throwing pesto from the clubs, salsa or queso on bites trying to make them better, but nothing really helped. Overall we will definitely be back again, just not ordering the tacos!

I ate there tonight (2.26.2024) It's a spot we go to a lot since it is so close to use. But I…read moreactually use the delivery service more than I go there when I am at the house alone. Someone down below said sometimes it gets five stars from there and sometimes, not so much. That is reflected in the overall rating, it seems. I gave it four stars overall because when they're on, it's a great place to eat. I am not an overall fan of pizza, but I love the pepperoni pizza from here. Most of the time I get a fried chicken sandwich with homestyle fries (they have to be homestyle) and it is excellent. Tonight was busier than expected for a Monday, but I do worry about them keeping this store open. They once had others in Gaston and Pelion, but the one in Swansea is the last one currently open. There's not a lot of ride by traffic at its location unless you see the sign and turn off of 321 to check it out. We started with the fried pickles, a favorite appetizer that we get there. Tonight, they were overfried and hard to eat. I got a Chef Salad and it was good as always. It was very fresh and crisp and the ranch dressing, which I believe is homem made, was excellent as always. It was very affordable and the serving was huge, more than I could eat, with a huge helping of ham and turkey. I took a photo of it, but it's blurry. The picture, not the actual salad.

Food was made fresh .. and piping hot. Our order was Togo so we sat in the car and went to work ... PIZZA is my favorite so I'm very critical ... but to my pleasure this was delicious .. My only concern was on the cheese half there could have been more sausage and next time I'll ask for extra cheese.. If you are ever in the Swansea area stop in... Also shout out to the staff very friendly and spoke to us even when just leaving to make delivery's

Great experience with a couple of lovely friends at this Amish Menonite restaurant that serves…read moresouthern comfort from another world They change the menu daily and today they didn't have the fried pork chops the baked pork was good too, tender and fully cooked, service was quick and with a smile. The two sides were flavorful and the Mac and cheese had real cheese not like the one that comes in a box My sweet tea came with refills like it is customary in the South, for dessert had the shoo-fly pie which was unlike anything I ever had and good to the last bite I will take my outoftowners next time even if it is in the middle of nowhere in a block that is being revitalized by the Mayor, inside is a modest place and don't expect a Michelin star, just plain and simple homemade cooking

He was just trying to keep us away from the good stuff! For starters, walking in was nice and comfortable and came with a friendly greeting. It was 2 o'clock on a Thursday and there was a bit of business, but not too much to keep us from a visit and going to our seat in just a minute. My wife and I had different items so that we could taste more things. I don't believe that there was any negative conversation about a single bite. It was easy to get excited about the flavor of everything that we had. Pure comfort food at its best. If you made it this far in the review and don't go find out how wonderful this is. Sorry but, you're missing out!
