Great Food and Amazing Customer Service. I have utilized their catering service several times and I'm never disappointed.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken (4/5): Decent fried chicken. I didn't expect it to be a boneless breast. Dark meat would've given it more flavor. The potatoes were flavorful and creamy. The collard greens were too acidic for me. Cornmeal Fried N.C. Catfish (3/5): The catfish wasn't anything special but the grits were very good. Lots of flavor and good texture. The collard greens were too acidic for me. Fried Adluh Yellow Grit Cakes (3/5): Would've been a lot better if it was fried more and had a crispier exterior. The herb goat cheese was good, but there was a little too much of it. Loved the roasted garlic (great for spreading on the complimentary bread!) Buttermilk Fried Shrimp (2/5): Only came with 4 shrimp. The shrimp itself wasn't very meaty and it also wasn't fried long enough. What an amazing concept. I can say that the food quality is pretty awesome especially considering the buffet style restaurant. I've been twice now and both times the food was awesome and they don't pull back on anything here. The only issue is they do have some weird hours but for what you get and how they do things it's totally worth a trip during lunch. I highly recommend hitting this spot if you're a fan of BBQ and have ever felt like you didn't here get enough of your favorite BBQ dishes.

Easy to locate with gps though. I went with the buffet and could have probably went back five times. Everything was good. The pulled pork was amazing and they had "real" baked Mac and cheese. None of that fake stove top stuff. I didn't get a pic of my second plate but I also got dessert and second serving of fried okra and pulled pork. For the price of the buffet you get your bang for your buck with a whole lot of flavor with it.

This place was an absolute must try after seeing it pop up in my feeds. I checked the website and…read moreit showed they were closing in an hour. I called and tried to place a Togo order and they do not allow for that. They did say though that they keep serving customers even if it's past closing. So took the drive to the other side of Columbia and it was very much worthwhile. They sell out of things and so if things are cross off the menu, then you should have went earlier. I missed out on the smoked links. It was pretty quiet for a Sunday afternoon and there were not that other many people in the dining area. Hopefully, that's just because it's a Sunday in South Carolina. The burnt ends, wings, wings, collards, beans, corn bread and rich with hash we're all stand outs. The staff was very friendly and helped make this place a gem that I'll highly recommend.

I feel like barbecue spots might follow a similar playbook regarding meats, smoke, sides, and…read moresauce, but they certainly are not created equal. When I was visiting my sister in Columbia, South Carolina, she told me about City Limits Barbecue and since there was only one day on our calendar that they would be open, our schedule was set. We got there pretty early after they had opened, but there's still was a line out the door. A little bit into our wait in line the owner/chef came out to talk us through the menu, his process, and recommendations. This was such a cool touch. I loved hearing about everything that he put into the product and the passion he has for his cooking. As you can imagine... The food was SPECTACULAR. Look, the brisket was absolutely top-notch and this beef rib was possibly the most tender chunk of meat I have ever had. We also got a half pound of their chopped whole hog option with crispy skins, and while it was delicious and flavorful, it didn't have the smoke or barbecue flavor without sauce that I was looking for. Of course, we had to go with practically an appetizer sampler of the sides and if I would've been able to put the food away, I would have just ordered one of everything. The collard greens were really good and not overly bitter, this sweet jalapeño coleslaw was maybe one of my favorite coleslaw recipes I've ever had, but the star of the show in my opinion were the sweet beans which was what most people would call baked beans. The amount of time, effort, and attention to every flavor in these beans was 10/10. Talk about bringing a humble ingredient to life. The cornbread was as amazing as you would imagine and the carrot cake was delicious. If you're looking for something unique with their barbecue, opt for the brisket sandwich with chili con queso or the Texicano. I was being a purist snob and just wanted the beef rib, but I stole a bite of my sister's sandwich and holy cow... Starve yourself the day before you visit, arrive early, and prepare to have a religious experience.
