I ate there tonight (2.26.2024) It's a spot we go to a lot since it is so close to use. But I actually use the delivery service more than I go there when I am at the house alone. Someone down below said sometimes it gets five stars from there and sometimes, not so much. That is reflected in the overall rating, it seems. I gave it four stars overall because when they're on, it's a great place to eat. I am not an overall fan of pizza, but I love the pepperoni pizza from here. Most of the time I get a fried chicken sandwich with homestyle fries (they have to be homestyle) and it is excellent. Tonight was busier than expected for a Monday, but I do worry about them keeping this store open. They once had others in Gaston and Pelion, but the one in Swansea is the last one currently open. There's not a lot of ride by traffic at its location unless you see the sign and turn off of 321 to check it out. We started with the fried pickles, a favorite appetizer that we get there. Tonight, they were overfried and hard to eat. I got a Chef Salad and it was good as always. It was very fresh and crisp and the ranch dressing, which I believe is homem made, was excellent as always. The food was fantastic! Their pizza is great, but don't sleep on the burgers. We really liked the pizza dough- not too thin, not too doughy. The sauce was great- not super sweet. We also split a bourbon bbq burger and wow, definitely recommend! Burger was cooked perfectly, bourbon bbq sauce was tangy, and the addition of the peppers with the onions was a step up. All on a soft homemade bun too. Very impressed. Service was quick and everything was very reasonably priced. The food is just ok it's a small town if you are hungry you can call and place a order and hopefully get the food while it's warm at best if you get it delivered. The problem I have is that it takes a very long time to get it delivered yes they charge a fee and a tip but it should take 15 minutes max for food delivery they need DoorDash all they have to do is charge customers the 30% more menu price that DoorDash charges and then you have 10 dashers delivering hot food making the store much more profitable it's simple if they have 2 pizzas with papa sticks for 22.99 charge 29.99 customers will pay a premium for DoorDash we do it with every other restaurant. Just yesterday I ordered 61.00 worth of food and after a hour I was called and told it's going to be 30 more minutes before my food is delivered and that my food is ready sitting under heat lamps waiting on the only driver they have available and was told I can come pick up the food myself who wants to be told this after spending 61.00 on dinner read more

Always great service! Pizza is great, burgers ok. We go to Pap's for good pizza. We live in the town but great food is a must so we will travel to Columbia when hungry. We go to Pap's cause its good. I like the pizza, they hand toss it. Never had anything else but my hubby loves their grill chicken and hand cut fries. Hometown pride is evident as many of our neighbors have parties here. This place was such a surprise to us! We had been here years ago, but hadn't been back in a long time. On Christmas Eve we were looking for a place to eat and we happened back upon this pizza place. It doesn't seem like it will be fantastic, just seems like a sort of "House of pizza" type place. But we were 100% wrong about that! There is plenty of seating space, and a good amount to choose from on the menu. We personally got a small pep pizza, wings, and a chicken and alfredo calzone; all of which were excellent! The waitress was very nice, and our food was freshly cooked and much less greasy than you would get at your typical family owned pizza joint. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat! I order a salad with croutons, moz cheese, extra tomatoes & extra honey mustard. It always came with an onion ring on top. The honey mustard was home made & the croutons were the tiny ones you often find on salad bars. Plain lettuce was used. I went here two nights ago and ordered my usual. It was a mix of lettuce that was not the least bit crispy, the huge flavorless croutons, the onion was cut up & throughout the salad & it was the worst honey mustard dressing. Terrible service! It took over an hour to get a salad and wings!!!! Then when I did ask for my food the manager snapped at me. Another customer was there and told her not to get an attitude because she had been waiting on her check for 30 mins. Really poor way to treat customers. It's a damn shame, Mike. You guys were doing so good, in the beginning... I have spent a bunch of money there, eating by myself, also with family and invited guests. Well, I have to say, unless something changes for the better, I afraid that I'm going to do what ALL dissatisfied customers do, I'm not gonna say a word, I'm just gonna vote with my feet... In particular, your replacement of the potato skins, (one of my favorites), with the sliced potatoes deal, is very bad. The potato slices, quite plainly are bad. What the heck were you thinking? I tried to order on-line tonight, however, obviously your on-line menu is way out of date, OR, your employees have no idea what it is. I tried to order the 12'x12', flat bread pizza, with 3 add-on items. It took me about 6 times, telling the person who answered the phone, what I wanted, reading the menu, trying to get the idea across, but she never did have any idea. Finally, she said, "OK, got it.". When I got there to pick up my pizza, I had a round, medium pizza, that cost me $12.69. I told the counter girl that was not what I ordered, she basically just gave me the take it or leave it attitude, saying, "We don't make square pizzas.". The girl who took the order did not tell me that I couldn't get the flat bread pizza, just blowing me off and ignoring what I actually wanted. Now, I paid for the pizza and took it, but I shouldn't have. I don't mind paying for good food, but $13.00 for a medium pizza? Really? Anyway, Mike, you need to do something about the service when you aren't there. I'm sorry, but, I'm thinking two strikes here. This place sucks. Anyone who says differently, are likely, backwoods rednecks, who lack distinguished palates, and eat chicken tenders, pizza, slim jims and spaghetti. We have eaten here several times. Hoping for a better outcome. Each time is just as rotten as the last. The most recent, tonight, 6/15/16, we ordered a Calzone, small cheese pizza, and Stromboli. One hour later (with 7 other guests present) our food arrived. The calzone looked like deflated dough. The Stromboli was crispy and correct, on the outside. Completely raw dough inside, and cold. So raw, it had the texture of melted mozzarella cheese, only it wasn't. We ate the meat out of the inside (starving and couldn't wait another hour), paid our bill AND then explained and showed the server. She asked to take it to the "Manager," just to show him, which she did. She came back with the receipt, apologized, and said goodbye. No comments, explanation or apologies from the "manager." Pelion IGA location.....We just went tonight to pick up to take home. Our boys had baseball so I called the order in. She told me it would be 20mins. I went 25mins later to pick it up. She told me it wasn't ready yet. So I wait. The girl takes my money Holy Cow $31 and change for a large pep pizza, 1 med supreme and cheezy bread. I continue to wait then the girl says someone bumped mine and they had to make me another one. Saaid it would only take 5mins...ok whatever. I waited a total of 50mins from the time I called to the time I left with them. Manager never said a word to me. No Im sorry for your wait....nothing. Never again will I go there. We are regular weekly customers, live not far and pizza is always easy to order and feed a crowd that are at our horse facility ... BUT final time ordering last night spend $100 on pizza to feed the crowd , all 5 pizzas were completely wrong, charged us for double extra cheese and actually left cheese off one side of the pizza, the quality and food has really declined over the course of time...We have tried to be loyal customers but at some point you have to cut your losses...When you go in to eat there , waitress are not dressed appropriately for the general public, and are always just interested in standing be hind the wall and gossiping , usually one waitress that has to try to carry the other two that aren't remotely motivated to do anything, we sat and watched customers that were seated before us never get acknowledged by a waitress until 40 minutes and asked someone three times to come help them.... they finally walked out ....Management is no help to any of the wait staff and spends most time out the back door ... Extremely extremely poor management and doesn't even speak to customers , or make sure the floor is ok, when they are busy he is out back have witnessed .... Suggestion get a management makeover and cut your P/L ..watch the food that is walking out the door not paid for, you'd me amazed how much you're losing ..This from a customer who is a professional secret shopper and has Business degree read more
