When I lived in Wheaton, which was a lot closer to downtown Silver Spring, I still always wrote/typed Wheaton, MD 20902. I had a dentist when I live in Wheaton that was less than a mile away, and she was good, and it's a hassle finding a new dentist. I moved to Russett in 2020, and I kept going all the way back to Wheaton for my dentist through 2023. My girlfriend recommended her dentist Colesville Dentistry, and she was right! I first arrived here in May 2024, then November 2024, & most recently May 2025. Wow, this dentist is top notch, blows the Wheaton dentist I had out of the water. The staff is friendly, efficiently gets you in. Dr. Chai, other dentists, & technicians have been friendly doing a great job with the cleanings as well as advise on better dental habits. Also, this is a state of the art dental office. When you are lying on the dental chair, there is a TV screen above you with high definition nature scenes which is peaceful when the dentist isn't exactly the most pleasant experience even with Colesville Dentistry being the best case scenario goes as far as the dentist goes. They have great technology with computer modeling of my teeth & more, which the prior dentist I had fell short. Although it's still not super close to my home, still easier than going to Wheaton and worth the drive. Overall, I highly recommend Colesville Dentistry.

No gimmicks. No sales pitch. Everything was reasonably priced. After my 1st visit, I just knew I made the right decision in switching to Colesville Dentistry. I had gone in to take care of another tooth, thinking nothing could be done to the front tooth. Because other dentist just wanted to pull the tooth, and charge a fortune to do so. They put in a temporary crown, followed 2 weeks later with a permanent crown. Now I can smile. The team that did most of the work, was like a Indy pit crew. I recommend them to anyone.

We had just moved to the area, they had plenty of appts available so I went ahead and booked.. I thought it would be a basic and standard visit. What could possibly go wrong? I have been a registered nurse for almost two decades, know exactly how patients should be treated, and what professional and respectful communication looks like between a healthcare provider and a patient. I arrived to my appt, and the office manager proceeded to scold me for being 5 minutes late, and was abrasive in her communication. She stated she couldn't find me in the system. I spelled out my name for her, she found me, then she proceeded to blame me for poor penmanship. I did not engage with her any further. When I was taken back to a room, i was examined and diagnosed with some cavities. Dr. Tong stated he could fit me into his schedule, and agreed to fill them. At the end of our appt, I gave him feedback on the manager's poor behavior. I shared exactly what she'd said to me, along with her rude and abrasive attitude and tone. I asked him to address her behavior. I stated I did not feel comfortable returning if it was not addressed.. He agreed to address it. Based on his response, I scheduled an appt to have my cavities filled. He also referred me to an orthodontist for Invisalign. I had my cavities filled, and the visit was unremarkable. This past week I called to schedule an appt with Dr. Tong per my orthodontist. I spoke to the office manager, scheduled an appt, and asked if she needed anything further from me for my upcoming appt (x-rays from the orthodontist, etc). She seemed confused and annoyed and did not answer my question. I asked the same question again, and explained my inquiry in detail. She cut me off, and stated Dr. Tong would call me back. He called me back, and stated I should seek care from another dentist that could meet my veneer needs. That is all he said. Today I received a letter that states, "Effective today I will no longer be your dentist due to your poor communication and dissatisfaction with my staff." The level of pettiness and unprofessionalism it takes to write a letter like that on your professional letterhead, and take the effort to mail it to a patient is nothing short of astounding. Whether it's the office manager that wrote it, or Dr. Tong himself, does not matter. What matters is that it was deemed appropriate communication to send to a patient, and was sent after our relationship had already ended. Any practitioner that allows his office staff to behave so rudely and unprofessionally toward patients with impunity, is not a business I want to support. Also, taking feedback from patients in healthcare is the norm. Patients should always feel empowered to share feedback, and the provider listening to and addressing concerns only improves the practice. I have since visited another dentist who sent a patient survey immediately after my visit, asking for my feedback. Her front desk staff is warm and engaging, and I feel grateful to have changed dentists.

However, a recent incident showed us that when they make a mistake, they are happy to make us pay for it. We purchased a dental insurance policy for 2024 to cover anticipated costs. My husband's care was in three phases, and first two went smoothly earlier in 2024. On October 31, 2024, he had an impression taken for an occlusal guard. However, the dentist didn't send the impression to the manufacturer or file the claim in November or December while we still had dental coverage. Nor did they communicate with us about any of this until my husband finally called them. The delay led to a second impression being required in January, 2025, and my husband coming out with a bill for $1130.70 instead of the $195.30 that should have been the total charge if the claim had been filed while we had insurance in 2024. Their lack of communication was disappointing. My husband and I have spoken to three persons of authority there, including the billing and office managers, and their unwillingness to take responsibility for their negligence is unacceptable.

After being with the practice for almost 12 years and referring so many new patients to this practice the office staff and management has always treated with lots of racial discrimination, unfairly, and with un-acceptable disrespect. They have always been putting their undocumented rules and policies before a patients health. Today I went in for my daughter's annual checkup in my unstable health conditions. Instead of expressing sympathy and consideration they backlashed me with their policy. They talked to me so rudely in front of my 9 year old. Office manager took employee's side and didn't believe a single word I said. I even told her to talk to my daughter who was my only eyewitness of the incident. This situation could have been avoided if they would have just shown some sympathy towards my health and circumstances. But instead they decided to show misuse and misconduct of their authority and power. I don't recommend this practice now or in future.
