A wonderful towing company, Robert's Towing provided me a much-needed service when they pulled some moocher who was illegally using my off-street parking spot while I was vacationing during the summer season. The driver was a tad gruff, but got the job done quickly and efficiently, which I have to respect and admire. It seems like towing companies get a lot of unnecessary flak from people who always think they're in the right, regardless of the situation. I'm from out-of-state, and have never had a problem with any towing company, much less Robert's - I simply take caution to avoid fire hydrants or seemingly illegitimate parking spaces. This tow truck company is awful do not interact without legal representation. Jeff who works there is a very rude and unprofessional man who instigated with his childish banter. I paid in advanced for my spot, same spot as the day prior and paid to extend. I got a message that they were going to tow my vehicle. I ran 12 minutes and asked when i was 4 minutes away if my vehicle was safe and i got a text that said yes and to hurry. I got there and this guy said he didnt care and that was between me and them not him. I asked if he was taking it since it wasnt hooked up and i made it. He said not if i paid him $66 in cash. I apologized said i didnt have cash. He told me to grow up and this was the real world and boston. Then said "what are you waiting for lady ill give you 10 minutes to find an atm" i said i didnt know where an atm was im a veteran not from the area and dont know where there was an atm. He asked me why i was still standing there and to "go figure it the fuck out" i asked him not to talk to me like that and that i really was lost. He told me if i kept talking shit he would take it and id have to pay $173. I said can i please pay over the phone he said no i said can i have the owners information he said no. I said sir i am a disabled veteran i am not aimlessly walking in an unknown area do you know of an ATM around. He told me that he was a veteran too started yelling at me took out his wallet to prove he is a veteran the whole thing was emotionally overwhelming. I paid for the spot. Hes being very mean a male bystander walks by and tells me to get in the car because they cant tow if youre in it. He tells me if i do that he will call the police. I said sir tow the car and ill meet you over there. He asks if im serious. I said yes i want to speak with your boss. While waiting for an uber he drove by me with it towed like a child. I get to the place and hes there talking to the lady in the little crackshack and making fun of me after he parked it against the wall so i couldnt get in. I go up to the window and ask for the business owners information and state i am looking for an atm. She tells me she will not give it to me and she will give him my information and he will contact me. I tell her i am looking for an atm she tells me to go find one. I have no idea where i am i said i have a disability she laughed and said "you dont have a fucking disability" i said "i actually have a traumatic brain injury and a 90% disability rating and what you just did is illegal and not in accordance or compliance with the american disability act i would like to speak to the owner pleasd. She told me to call the police if i had a problem. I said i would. She told me to get off the property and call them so i did. The place was 1.5 miles from where i was parked in a spot i paid for. The police came and i requested their presence so i wouldnt be harassed and the cop said there was an atm right there next to the shack. Why she didnt tell me that is really frustrating. I couldve paid and been out of there but they wanted tk make fun and harass me and say i am not disabled when i am. The cops gave me the number to start the legal due process through the massgov transit route and stated that the whole thing was recorded on their body cams. I asked if they would monitor the interaction of me paying because i was so uncomfortable and they agreed. I went to the window to pay and she said $173 she said she needed my y license. I handed her my license and asked if i could please have a receipt with the charges broken down because the price board next to the window did not match my charge. I got my receipt. It said $173-fuel charge". I said im really sorry but i cant get out they parked it against the wall. The cop asked them to let me out. Im not climbing over the seat. I got in my car and drove home. This is a shady tow truck company hence the multiple names, several complaints, poor lot maintenance, poor complaint process, and poorly trained employees. Have a witness when interacting. Franks towing is so bad I wish I could give it a zero but I can't so I give you a one. The tow driver himself is a horrible person. As he was pulling out with are truck (that we parked for two minutes) we asked him to stop, he slapped his door and told us to go to his disgraceful company. We proceeded to walk 30 minutes. I just saw their worker the other day (May 2, 2026 at 4:37pm) towing a car with their leg out the window. A very unsafe way to drive even at a stoplight (mind you he kept his leg out on the window even after the light turned green). Was delivering medical equipment for work and during the 20min installation they towed my van, no warning or call. Towed my son's car today for a spot that he bought and paid for through a company that leases parking spots daily . In error he took his girlfriend's car to work instead of his. I rent a numbered parking spot and someone parked in it so I unfortunately had to call this company... if you can even call them that. By the time they showed up 3 hours later the guy who parked in my spot had just left right before. Horrible service and they told me someone would be over within an hour when I asked for an estimate. I double-parked for literally two minutes, came out and this incredibly rude and obnoxious tow truck driver had locked my wheel which I'm sure he had been sneaking round the corner for this. I told him to unhook it, he said, "$54, CASH". Then he told me there's ATM right next door. I told him, "Fine, Wait Here." When I came back, he took my car anyways. A woman who worked in that building came out and when she saw what happened to me, she told, "It happens all the time; this towing company is a scam, it shouldn't even be legal to hold up people's car and demand ransom in cash." So then, I had no choice but to go to their lot. The woman at the counter was EQUALLY RUDE. Now, the price went up to $148, CASH. After I paid, the receipt says $147.64. I said, "Where's the change?" She said, "No Change; Sue Me." Yelp should allow reviews to give NEGATIVE STARS, because Roberts Towing needs to go negative. It needs to be shut down. If I could give it negative stars I would. Had a parking pass displayed in the vehicle, came out of work at Fenway and found my car gone. Had to pay $165 to get the car out had to wait another 45mins for the a**hole of the tow truck driver to come back to move the car infront of ours. Mind you this was after a Red Sox game. We are pushing now 11:30. The car was towed at 9:50 and it took an hour and a half for the driver to come back from "Fenway" with another car to move the one out of our way. Exchanged words with the idiot driver was told I was a fat a** F off, alll from the driver. You know what - I well deserved my ticket and my tow. I made a mistake and I know the consequences for it and the cost of it. So I'm not giving this place a bad review because they towed my car and I'm mad about it. I'm giving this place a bad review because they short-changed me. The cost of the tow and storage was $143. I paid in 20s and the total amount of $160. The change should have been $17. Instead I received $7. I merely pointed out that the change was incorrect, pointed to the receipt, yet the lady at the counter very rudely and loudly told me I was wrong. I'm not wrong - the change was counted the moment it hit my hand. I mean, I work as a goddamn accountant, I know how to count money. After pleading my case again - the lady wrote down my name and number and told me that if she is over by $10 at the end of the night, they will call me and I can collect my $10 the next day. I think she's hoping I'd just go away. If my rightfully owed funds are returned, I will change my review to 5 stars. A bit of honesty goes a long way. Because over $10, I'm not going to small claims court. Hell, I'm not even sure if it's worth my time to drive down and even collect it. I just want the call. I realize that being in the towing profession is not easy. You have to deal with angry people all day, and all you should be doing is enforcing the law. And these angry people will call you vultures and thieves. So I get that you need a hardened exterior to work in the industry. But this is different, and I wonder how many times a day this crap gets pulled? Maybe there's a reason Roberts Towing's terrible reputation is well deserved - beyond the standards of the industry as a whole. Update: no response from Robert's. Illegally towed my car from my private parking space in the private lot of my apartment building. Been parking in my leased spot for a year without issue, until today. The police told me the tow was authorized by a company called "Great Bay Associates," who are not my property management company and had no right to authorize a tow off my property. Edit: I wrote this review but after reading other reviews the only important message I have is, do the world a favor and fire your shite drivers or shut down the business. I'm sure you're a great fella Robert I'm not a customer - I don't hire them. I was towed by this company during an allergic reaction that I was having because I parked at cvs while I was going to cvs. Just to emphasize that connection - I was going to cvs because I was having an allergic reaction. The parking lot is for cvs and the other businesses there and I was outside looking for the ATM when they towed me. I asked what was up why are you towing me I thought CVS is open and they said yeah they are but you're not inside. Yeah I can't snap my fingers and teleport inside from my car, and also can't buy medicine without any money. We share some back and forth about how the atm is inside and the signs say you must be inside and blah blah blah how tf was I supposed to know the atm is inside. I asked if I could get my epi-pen out of my car before he left because..I WAS HAVING AN ALLERGIC REACTION. Back and forth he says, no call the number, a couple times. Needless to say I went to the hospital later on, y'all will surely get what's coming to you someday. Hopefully a lawsuit. I woke up at 3am with the sounds of my car alarm going off. Just bought the car. I put my car was in the building parking lot. The building has no assigned parking. Lease says to park in the parking lot behind the building. My neighbors got home at 3am under the influence. Saw the car in what they perceive to be their parking lot although none are assigned and proceeded to have my new car towed away. Robert's Towing took the car with out the consent of the building management. They just went off what these students told them. When we called at 3am the agent was insulting and discriminated against my wife. He told my wife that he was from a first world country and that she did not sound like she was. Robert, I think one of your drivers overcharged me and took the extra for himself. This Tuesday night, I parked in a lot that didn't have any sign says private, and when I returned to the parking lot, I saw one of your trucks pulling in. As soon as the driver saw me, he started towing my car! I said I'm willing to pay a drop fee. He said it's $90. I went to the atm and got a 100 and gave it to him. When I asked him for change, he was very rude, said he doesn't have any and that I had an attitude problem. I said I just couldn't hear him because his truck was running and it was raining... after I paid, I called robert's towing and the person who answered the phone said it's $50 drop fee if the truck hasn't left the property and $90 if it did. Clearly in my case, the truck didn't. He advised me to call in in the morning to talk to the manager. I've been calling for 4 days now and apparently the manager never showed up. I wish I could give negative stars because from reading everyone's review of this company, everyone who works here is rude and does not know how to be respectful if their life depended on it. not only are they SO DISRESPECTFUL and RUDE. They literally are on the hunt to tow anyone they can. The two workers who look like they are going to be seen on their death bed after eating one more Twinkie claims to have "not seen us" even though we ran to their car and tapped on their window. We had to pay $54 in cash. We never carry cash anymore due to COVID-19. My boyfriend kindly asked the employee to give him 6 minutes to run to an ATM. the man kept rushing and stating "you have 5 minutes", "you better run", "not my problem". We had to desperately ask a random stranger to help us pay and we would venmo them back. We paid the employee $60 and when we asked for change, he said he had none and just took our $60. How can you work and only receive cash but not have ANY change? Circling back to their attitude towards me, they were so disrespectful as they kept yelling at me and stating that it's not their fault and it's mine. I was respectful and spoke kindly to them the entire time but they continued to yell at me and threaten to leave with my car. I also saw the second worker RECORD ME as I was trying to be respectful and talk to the other worker. Firstly, Why are you recording me? That is so unprofessional and weird - under what circumstances did I allow you to film me without my consent or permission? This whole company is trash and I hope they see this review. I can confidently say that if I was white, then they might have been nicer to me. The location we parked at had ZERO signs of towing. We parked at 1266 commonwealth Ave, where CVS used to be. On google maps, the CVS location is still 1266 commonwealth Ave. we printed out pictures and the location on the receipt said to pick up the pictures at 1266 commonwealth Ave. how are we supposed to know it closed down and relocated? There are no signs for towing and no signs that we cannot park in this parking lot. At this point they are on the HUNT to look for random cars to tow just to get some money. In conclusion, I feel so disrespected and angered by how these people treated me and my boyfriend. If they were just more professional and nicer - I would've understood the situation. However, they placed all the blame on ME and claimed to have not seen us run to their car and tap on their window (full of BS), and their coworker recorded me without my consent and permission. Crimped my license plate upon towing and wouldn't let me leave the lot for a day because of road work. Since I was able to pick the car up that day I expressed discontent in the fact that they had said it would cost an additional fee if I were to come in the next day. Incredibly predatory company that does cash only which has to be illegal. No coordination, no customer service, nothing. Truly terrible people who cause nothing but undue stress. SCAM ALERT!!!! They are a PREDATORY towing company that does ILLEGAL towing. They towed my car FOR NO REASON when I went into CVS for 15 minutes. They made me pay $150, when the state total should be $108. The creepy ass guy at the register parked his car in front of the exit so we couldn't leave. I can't agree more that this towing company is running a predator scam, a shady business. The place I unfortunately parked briefly was completely painted over where any visible warning signs would have been covered and it was appearant the previous tow warning plate on the break wall was deliberately taken out (see photo attached), no 'reserved', or 'private property' whatsoever signs anywhere nearby. I left a my number on the window just in case, but within a short period of time the car was towed and since there was no info who towed the car,it took me a very long time to locate this company. Obviously a tow company is going to get some flack online no matter what but this is a desperate business worked by desperate people. Two miserable guys who towed my car had issues controlling their emotions, one of them yelled so loud for no reason he woke up people in the neighborhood.
