This company is egregious and shady, and I cannot believe that the city is contracted with them. I made an honest mistake parking my car before leaving town and had to pay almost $400 in cash. Everybody I interacted with was rude. The office itself is sketchy, there is darkened glass over the desk so that you can't see the person you are interacting with, and there are several signs stating that cameras are not allowed. I had a terrible experience recovering my vehicle from D&G Towing. While the reason for towing was my mistake, I was very upset by the process for recovering the vehicle. I have out of state plates at the moment and even though I was towed for a non-trespassing reason (listed on their sheet as something that can be paid by credit card), they insisted on cash. I could not seem to get their ATM to dispense the cash. Eventually I had to go home to find some cash. This cost me a lot of money in uber trips back and forth. They also did not accurately display what times they were open till. the location of their office is very unclear as well and I spent a few minutes waiting at their trailer which had no one in it before they came out to ask if i needed help. Furthermore, the people working seemed to have incorrectly entered information as they struggled to find my vehicle in their system, even though I told them repeatedly that it has a texas plate and it was clearly the only vehicle in the lot with texas plates. They also took my Drivers license and failed to return it to me, then when I returned with cash they asked me for my license again... My car died and my jumper cables were not working, so I called D&G for a jump. I called around 11:15pm and was out of there by 11:30pm, really appreciate how prompt they were. I would rate 0 stars if possible- I was charged 204 dollars for 35 hours . When I went to pick up my car the man behind the counter was very inappropriate to me-asking me if I was single, my age, if I would go on a date with him and if he could use my phone number (asked for it and typed it into the computer) so that he could contact me personally. When I called to inquire about their hours the first man I spoke with told me they were open until 11p. I tracked my car and watched it move to multiple lots. When I called a second time to figure out why it was being moved the woman asked me what time I worked until, when I told her 7p, she told me they closed at 7pm. When I told her someone else told me 11pm she back tracked and said I could try to come and pick up my car but no promises. They want the storage fee of 35 dollars. Towed my car for being in a snow emergency spot (despite no signage indicating it so), and it took me several days to even locate my vehicle or the company that had it because they entered my license plate incorrectly and felt like it was fair to charge me for 3 full days of holding it anyway. Not as if they were going to budge based on the environment you find yourself in at this place. A lot attendant that spoke 0 words of english wasn't able to help me find much before I got to the office behind a sketchy tinted window, literally could not see who I was talking to or anything, let alone make out what they were saying, nor were they helpful or friendly. Terrible company, terrible employees. General Manager is a jerk. Manager is clueless. They ripped off half of my splash shield while towing my car 1 mile... I had to call twice and show up in person twice to get them to even look at it. "Mechanic" was clueless and had no idea what to look for. Had to explain the issue multiple times. They claimed, "it wasn't ripped off, the clips fell off causing it to hang." There are no clips for the splash shield to begin with, it is screwed into the bottom of the car...... They refused to take responsibility even though I had photos of before vs. after towing. The made their "fixes" to the car without my permission which consisted of them CUTTING OFF the damaged portion of the splash shield and add zip ties to the remaining pieces... General Manager sat in his tow truck the whole time on his phone, did not look at my car once, but somehow, he claimed there was damage since the "missing piece of the splash shield was nowhere to be found so that means we didn't damage anything. The car is drivable and it's not our responsibility to look under cars during towing to make sure we aren't damaging anything." Don't call them if you need towing :) 0/10 don't recommend. They just want their $200 for you to get your car out of the lot and could careless about the condition of your car when you get it back. read more

Turns out I had to release the car first at the police station which they didn't tell me until I arrived. They also lied and told me it was $170, cash only, only to then say it was $205 when I arrived. Horrifying. I saw my car on their tow truck during street cleaning. I asked the driver if they could drop it for a fee, and he refused. I went to pick it up from the office, and the person I spoke with was extremely rude. When I asked for my license and credit card back, he initially refused. His manager came over and instructed him to give me my items. I signed their invoice, but I told them that I should not have to pay the storage fee, as I had offered to pay a drop fee and was refused. I wrote on the invoice that I disputed the storage fee and didn't sign the credit card receipt. As I was leaving, the managers instructed a tow driver to block the path of my car. I drove around the tow truck, but the manager closed the gate and locked me in the lot. They refused to let me go without signing the receipt. I told them I am disputing the charge and refusing to sign, but he has already been paid and cannot detain me. I had to call the police, who told the manager I was allowed to refuse to sign and let me drive out of the tow lot. Still, the managers refused to let me leave. I signed another invoice and the receipt indicating that I disputed the charge. I also offered to pay without the storage fee, and I wouldn't dispute it, but the manager refused. Still, the manager continued to argue with the police officer blocking my way out of the alley. Eventually, the manager stated he would cancel the charge and take my keys until I walked to an ATM and handed him cash. I did not feel safe getting out of my car at that point. I agreed to sign the receipt under duress. Even after I signed, the manager yelled stating he was getting "fucked." A completely unbalanced and unprofessional response to a customer saying they would dispute the charge. Also, it is entirely illegal to lock me in the lot when I have already paid! read more

I would give this 0 stars if I could. They are scamming people of their money. First, they say it's $170 but the receipt comes out to $169.51. They don't even have change to offer and they only give you change if you ask for it. It's also cash only. When I asked for change, they weren't even exact. Untrustworthy. They force you to go to a different office if you even ask for your correct change. This place is horrible and rude. When I was demanding my change, the worker started yelling at me to go to the difference office. We requested a tow because we hit a pothole and blew out 2 tires. Our request through AAA was timed at 7:29 p.m. About an hour or so later I heard from a driver (Eldred) from D&G. He said the tow truck would arrive in about 45 minutes. Without going through every time I called AAA to check and eventually request a different tow company, the tow truck arrived after midnight. The driver (Eldred) was really surly and refused to take my husband and me in the cab saying there was no room which was a blatant lie - there was plenty of room. Then he said he couldn't take the car because we live in a condo complex and he wouldn't know where to drop the car. We said take one of us to show him where we live and the other would get an Uber. He refused. The supervisor at AAA was appalled. While I was talking to her, the tow truck driver drove away without another word. The supervisor got us a Lyft and had the car towed to a Town Fair Tire of our choosing. If I could give D&G a zero star I would but the system doesn't allow it. Oh, I forgot to mention that it was pouring rain and very cold that night. We got home at 12:55 a.m, more than 5 hours after we asked for a tow. Worst tow truck company ever! read more

On Thursday 8-4 at 11:34 pm i parked at Walgreens central Sq in East Boston. Confirmed by transcript of the security footage from the store. 6 minutes later which in my opinion means the tow truck driver saw me park and enter the store to shop. My car was towed for no other reason but to steal 257.50$. Not only did they steal my car it was held for random. Adding insult to injury after they unlawful took my car. They conveniently only allow 200$ at a time at their atm machine. So they steal your car and have to pay 2 transaction fees on top of it to get it back. The kicker is my bank hit me twice too. So in Total 263.50. Even when i showed proof i was shopping in the store i was told too bad take it up with Walgreens. I came out to my car being towed near my apartment, asked if they're was any chance they could release my car because I was there, the driver said no, but that he would drive me to the building to pick it up. I asked for 5 minutes to get my wallet and keys, when I came back out he was gone. okay so I was parked in a visitor parking spot last night. the sign read 4 hour visitor parking. was parked for around 20 minutes nothing happened. Me and my friends made a trip to burger king in my truck. We get back and park in the same spot about 30 minutes later to drop one of my friends off at his place. we are parked again for about 30 minutes just talking to him. Me and my two friends say goodbye to the other friend and walk back to my truck. Except now, my truck is no where to be seen. We look around, then call 911. Now we are all panicked because my truck is gone. The dispatch patches us through to the Boston towing line, they then give us the number of D&G. We call D&G and they claimed we were parked in a non visitor spot. We walk about 23 minutes down the road in the cold and finally find my truck in the tow lot. Now when we get there we see a family outside talking to the guy at the window. I guess something similar happened to them. Both Me, my Friends, and the family had parked in fidelis apartments. There is a sign on jette ct that says 4 hour parking. And that same jette ct stretches around a left turn then goes back to the other streets in that complex. There is not a single sign that says residency parking from the side we came on and there was zero way for us to tell other than the sign we read that stated 4 hour visitor parking. Now the guy in the window at D&G claimed we needed a parking sticker, but that just isn't the truth, and even if it is there was no way for me to know that. What makes this whole thing crazier is that when we got there the father from that family said that they tried to put their kids in the car because it was very cold, keep in mind they had little children, and the guy from the window told them he can't. They then called the police there, but there wasn't much they could do to help either. The officers also said there have been many complaints about this company and that this company even towed a detective's cruiser about a week ago. Overall this company is running a scam. When I came back down five minutes later he was gone with my car. When I picked it up, it cost 170$ for about an hour of holding. I also noticed that they yelled at the old man I was waiting with because he asked how much longer he'd be waiting. Then, they told him they don't take cars, and forced him to walk across the street to an ATM for 200$ cash. However, I was allowed to pay with card just fine a minute after he left. Now I have been waiting over thirty minutes next to my car because they blocked it in. I can't imagine how anyone deals with this when they have to get to work on time. just wanted u to know that my sons vehicle has been in the body shop since you towed his vehicle. not only did you do visible damage, you did internal damage. he drove back to the dealership after picking up the vehicle from you. put the car on the lift where they found all sorts of visible damage. the ford master tech took it for a ride and told him NOT to drive the car. he now had play in the steering rack and tranny issues. we had to have the vehicle towed to our house for the insurance company to come out. the vehicle is now at the body shop and is waiting on the adjuster to come back to approve the vehicle going to ford for mechanical issue evaluation. when a person asks you how did you tow their vehicle, i suggest not telling them "we know how to tow". obviously by my sons vehicle and your 1.9 star rating on yelp this is not the case. you should not be towing a tank never mind someone's personal vehicle. unprofessional is not a strong enough word to describe this. i have been in the car business for over 22 yrs and i have seen a lot of messed up things. this is by far the topper. instead of apologizing to all the yelpers online, maybe you should do something about the issues. your apologies mean absolutely nothing. people are putting out money to fix vehicles that you allow to be damaged. and yes you allow it. if you didnt it still wouldnt be happening. i have talked to many tow companies since my sons vehicle and your company is VERY well known for this. bad reputation throughout the town industry. maybe you should try to rectify these issues instead of the meaningless words of im sorry to hear...blah blah bs. just an update on my vehicle towed by these hacks, the adjusted has been called back out do to tranny issues. this vehicle has been well maintained since we have owned it. then in one bad unprofessional move its ruined smh. ill post again once i know more! read more
