This company towed my car and asked $127 in cash. The guy was so rude. Why did he accept ONLY CASH? Was it because he was trying to avoid paying tax for this illegal business? If nobody can bring down the heat of this company, I believe IRS will do because they are not happy when they cannot collect their money. I just saw their worker the other day (May 2, 2026 at 4:37pm) towing a car with their leg out the window. A very unsafe way to drive even at a stoplight (mind you he kept his leg out on the window even after the light turned green). Parked at a dunk's and was in & out of a different business literally within 3 minutes. complete scumbag driver was waiting and watching and literally had me hooked up to go and then shook me down for "$66 or it'll be &169 if i tow you". Cash only. Asked for a receipt and was ignored. You know when your gut just tells you you're dealing with a reeeeally bad person? That was this guy. I politely asked a few questions to make sure this was all legit and it pissed him off immediately and he continued hooking up my car until i had to plead with him as i had to get to work. I'm only giving one star because it is required. This business is incredibly unprofessional, aggressive, and predatory. You can own and work at a tow company and still operate with integrity, but that's not what happens at Frank's. Like all other reviews, I left my car for such a short period of time that I didn't have my wallet or gloves with me. After walking over to the tow company, in freezing weather, I was forced to pay a gas surcharge even though I was within walking distance of the lot AND a storage fee even though they did not have my car for not even 20 minutes and certainly did not store it. In addition, the woman working the place would not communicate with me directly and had a shirt that read "If you don't like me you CAN F*&^ OFF" (only it was fully written out). Mind you, this is the person representing the business to the customer! It is not just a matter of being upset that my car was towed but the UNPROFESSIONAL manner in which I was treated and I know so many others have been as well. read more

Very rude drivers. Two incidences one in Aplayin and one in Brighton. in Allston, the truck passed me with a car in tow on Comm Ave across to Harvard Avenue. I had to swerve into the parking lane to avoid the truck. Then the driver boxed me in and started arguing with me holding me and traffic up. Second incident in Brighton driver just blew through a red light flipped me off when I beeped my horn and beeped back, an incredibly rude and unprofessional business. read more

My car was towed on Friday, 10/29/2023, due to a misunderstanding, which, while frustrating, I understand. The reason for my 1-star review is their employee Joan, who exhibited rude and unprofessional behavior. Here's a breakdown of the timeline: 1. At 11:48 AM, I called to inquire about the towing details, but Joan claimed she couldn't hear me. I was walking on the street at the time, so I decided to call back shortly. 2. At 11:51 AM, I made a second call to get towing details, and Joan mentioned that there were signs on the car from some parking authority. I told her I'd come in and we would resolve the matter. 3. At 11:53 AM, I called once more to clarify which parking authority so I could call them before coming in, but Joan rudely insisted she had already informed me and accused me of calling twice unnecessarily. She threatened to report me to the police for harassment. Fearing further issues, I preemptively called the police to let them know about the situation, and they advised me to call them if I felt intimidated when I arrived at the towing company. 4. I arrived at Frank's towing at 1:30 PM and saw my car in the corner of the lot with a piece of paper on it. I started walking towards it however before I could get close, Joan called me over insisting I need to pay first. I tried asking if I could read the paper on the car first but she already closed the door. I walked to the window and asked to look at the sign on the car before paying. She said I need to pay first and they only take cash. When I asked again if I can look at the sign on the car before paying she said no and threatened to call the police. I told her I already called the police and they said they would send a squad car if I felt intimidated which I obviously did seeing as my car was being help hostage and she wasn't letting me find out why until I pay. To this she slammed the door closed in my face and I saw her get on the phone through the window. I don't know who she was calling. I walked over to my car and read the note on the dash noting I was parked in a reserved spot, went to the ATM, pulled out and handed her cash, checked my car for damages (didn't find any), and drove out. At every step along the way Joan made things difficult. I don't know what she thinks her job role is. In case she reads this I would say her job role should be facilitating people in getting their car back. Not being rude, argumentative, unhelpful, and repeatedly threatening to call the police. When I called the night before, I spoke to a man (don't remember his name) who was courteous and showed common decency so it's clearly not an impossible ask. If I was reading this, I might think there are some exaggerations or I'm trying to make myself look right but frankly I'm leaving out the minor things like her dismissive tone of voice and hanging up on me in the middle of calls. I've never had a worse business-client experience. I hope she is fired and I don't say this lightly. Edit: Usually towing companies partner with buildings so a message to building owners. If a company is willing to employ unprofessional people you don't want to do business with them. As in my case, I pay for a spot in the lot I was towed from, it just happened to be reserved for another purpose. This experience has completely soured me on the prospect of continuing my parking lease. What could have been an inconvenience was made far worse by dealing with Joan from Frank's towing. Literally the worst experience ever. I was not even parked illegally, and the sign which was on the OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET was washed out to the point that it was unreadable even when I took a photo with flash for proof. When my friends and I pulled up, a guy started flashing his torch in our faces while shouting for us to get out of the parking lot. He was clearly on the most pathetic power trip of his life. Later, a nice young lady came out to tell us how much it was, and everything was fine.... until we found out that we had to pay in cash. We were not told of this in advance at all, either. This is my third time being towed in Boston and some places are a bit better than others even though ranking the people who tow your car is like ranking your favorite bully in grade school that used to steal your lunch money. A few things to know about this place.... They take cash only and didn't give me a receipt (probably skimping out on some taxes). The place is hard to find if you do get towed. So if you are coming onto Brighton Ave from Comm ave, you will make a right into the lot that seems like it belongs to Auto Zone. You walk into some sketchy door labeled Mikes Auto Repair and then into a sketchy office to pay a ridiculous amount ($140) for your tow. read more

This place stinks. I parked at the Speedway gas station at 100 Brighton Ave for half an hour. My mistake. When I saw my car missing, I asked the gas attendant if my car was towed and she said no one said anything to her. She got the manager who also knew nothing about it. He gave me the number of Frank's Towing. I called Frank's and asked if they towed the car. His response, "That I did." I said no one mentioned anything to the gas station attendant and he explained, "We don't have to tell them. We have a contract". I asked where they were located and he said, "At 55 Brighton Ave. Bring $143 cash and an ID." What scumbag mercenaries. After I got there, I called them and said we were there. He said the guy would be there soon. I waited 25 minutes with my stepsons for "the guy" to show up. When I called after waiting 10 minutes and told the owner I was still waiting outside with my kids, he said the guy would be right there. He had to stop to tow another car. What a prince. He showed up with a white SUV in tow. I said, "Are we all set?" and gave him the $143 and my drivers license. I guess some people don't mind making a living off the misery of others. Such dirtbags. 10 minutes of work for $143? I couldn't sleep with myself at night if I was such a dirt ball. They are the same company as Mike's Auto Repair, also located at 55 Brighton Ave. Mike's average review is two stars. I guess if I was supposed to be fixing cars but I was terrible at it, I might get into towing as well. If you're not smart enough to make a living with your mind, and not motivated enough to do something useful like construction or being a trucker, and if you're supposed to be fixing cars but you can't, you drive a tow truck for Frank's. read more

Very predatory towing company. I'm nervous posting this because this company seem to be the type who retaliate but it's my attempt to warn others. Was gone for 3 minutes and as they were hooking my car I kindly asked if they could please forgive my mistake. In full honesty, I went to CVS and was going to go to Dunkin' to purchase my usual but apparently that doesn't matter. I know this is how they make their money but they immediately began to verbally intimidate me by extorting $60 ransom money for my car. As I was standing there, 'me being a 5'2 woman against two men (father and son) who are at least 6'0 belligerently yelling at me demanding money and telling me to say the following "now you're gonna tell me you WANT to give me this money. Not that you have to but because you want to. Say it", I was scared for my life. Things escalated as they threatened me for money so I felt I had no choice to pay them. Luckily I had cash. However, never use this company as they are violent scum who make people fear for their life. UPDATE: I will be taking action by first filing complaints. From what I've noticed from previous reviews, many have filed but no action has been taken. This was one of the worst towing companies I have ever seen. The people working there were nice but besides that my experience was horrible. I parked in a lot for less than 5 minutes to run to the store across the street. The dunkin parking lot was closed and I did not see the sign that said only for costumers. However, the dunkin was closed so the tow company had to be circling nearby waiting for people to park there. When I got to my car (my dogs were in the car) the man had the tow machine strapped to the back of my car and said he was going to call animal control if I didn't come in the next few minutes. I asked if he could let me pay the ticket online so I didn't have to have my car towed but he said there was no online footprint and i had to pay in cash at the tow shop. It was raining outside so I then had to walk 20 minutes to the tow shop and then the ATM took 15 minutes to work because the balance wasn't allowing me to withdraw enough for the ticket. They charged me $148 for the towing fee and $10 to withdraw money from the ATM. They only accepted cash and there's no online footprint. I wouldn't be surprised if this place was illegally run and evading taxes to their payments only being in cash and non deductible. I am utterly disappointed in this entire experience. read more

The worst people I have ever seen in United States. We just picked up the food for less than five minutes. When we came back, he saw us and towed our car very quickly. We are new in Allston. We noticed that we might park in the wrong place. We tried to talk to him, asked him where could we pick up the car, how could we pay, could we pay and get the car tonight. Because my boyfriend's computer was in the car and he needs to finish homework tonight. While this most rude guy, most bad guy, just ignored him, didn't say anything (including where can we pay and get the car). He just drove over my boyfriend. My boyfriend firstly stood in the right side of his car and tried to talk with him. The rude guy ignored and drove directly, almost hit my boyfriend. Because he was a little worried that he could not get the computer tonight. He tried to continue talking to the bad guy. The bad guy just drove directly from the parking place across the street. Almost drove over him several times. We didn't try to avoid the payment. We can pay immediately and just want to get the car and computer back. Who cared the fucking 130 dollars. We are very rich. While this most bad guy just put other people's life in danger. I read all the reviews in Yelp here. Except for people who called him for help, All the other people complained about his rudeness and his bad behavior. I think what he did was almost illegal. You can do the job, but why didn't respect other people's safety and lives, why? Does all other towing company acted like this one? Does ABC towing company teach you to work, to act like this? *update. Got my RENTAL towed today and they gave every excuse in the book that was incorrect. I was stranded with my 3 year old because my car seat was in the car. They also towed my boyfriends car and destroyed his alignment so they will be getting an invoice for the damages and sued. I have never hated anyone more than these people. The woman who answers the phone is the worst person on the planet and I truly wish terrible things on her and all of them. The people who work here and this company in general are completely heartless, greedy, and awful people. This business is a fraud. I don't know why MA doesn't have the same law as CA that towing companies can't perch out waiting to tow your car. I drive a fiat 500 pop in green which is a very hard to miss car. I park in the visitors spot at my boyfriends apartment WITH MY PASS ON MY WINDSHIELD. A sign is posted that says only 4 overnights a month, which i abide by after having my car towed the first time. Some nights my car gets moved to the street at around 1 am when my boyfriend gets home because I have a two year old and getting from the car into the apartment during the winter is a big no. Never has it been an issue until TODAY. After I was told that the towing company literally does "rounds" of the parking lot nightly looking for cars (I know they purposely look for my car), that moving it past 1 am constitutes as "over night" because it's after 12 am. No where is that posted on the signs for the visitor parking space. So today I woke up to my car gone because I was "overnight" 5 times this month (keep in mind the max is 4, so even if that was true, you're going to TOW over ONE NIGHT.) But it has not been 5 nights as I know specifically one night they have marked 4/3 I left the complex that evening because i had to be in NH early the next day. They only accept exact change CASH, so they can further screw people. I will be notifying property management, filing a report with both the BBD and the Boston police department. This is 100% illegal activity and I would love for the IRS to do a nice audit on their business to see how much they are laundering from their cash only, no paper trail system. read more

BEWARE, These guys lurk all over the area. One of their spots in on Linden street next to the Hess Gas station. I see them often waiting with their lights turned off, waiting to pounce on their next prey. I used to frequent that Hess for gas, but I now avoid them when possible. On one particular occasion I had parked on the side of Hess and gone inside to purchase snacks and a 2 liter soda. From there I went to pick up a take out order of hot dogs directly next door. I was gone for 3 minutes (literally) and my car was towed. I ran outside after the tow truck with my car, and the driver made eye contact with me trying to hail him, but instead of stopping, he sped up to get away down the one way street and screeched around the corner with my car in tow (I am not sure this is how you would want your car treated if you need a tow) When I got to the tow station I tried showing him my receipt and time on the receipt. He did not believe me and proceeded to tell me that even though I had purchased something I had been gone for 3 minutes. After he stonewalled the conversation for 20 minutes I gave in a paid the 150 dollars for the 1/5 mile tow. read more

So my car died in the Super 88 parking lot last night and Geico went out to tow it to my mechanic. All was fine until Frank's stepped in... They towed my car out from under my Geico tow officer!!! I had to report them to the Police, the State Transportation bureau, and Geico had to re-tow my car from their lot. The guy working in the office at Mike's Auto Service (on the same property) was really nice, but the guys from Frank's are bullshit. They hung up on me TWICE when I called in about my car!! Frank's sucks. They definitely towed my car out of spite and got in a fight with my Geico tow agent. I heard the whole thing over the phone. They are NOT nice people and will cheat you out of any penny they can get. STAY AWAY, and hope you are NEVER towed by this company. read more

- Parked at gas station - Ran over to hot dog place next door - Came out 10 min later - Car gone - Asked gas station attendant if they saw who towed it -- without hesitation they said it's ABC three minutes walk away. - Went over there and towing guy immediately starts yelling at me for breaking the law and trespassing because I walked into the lot when the gate was open and no sign saying "do not enter." - Then he demanded $127 CASH (it took him less than 5 minutes to tow me and the car had been on the lot less than 10 minutes). - So I go back to the gas station and ask them how many times a day this guy does this -- attendant tells me that he is constantly patrolling the area and gets at least 2-3 cars a day. No wonder he started yelling at me right away -- he probably gets a lot of angry folks having their cars TOWED AFTER 5 MINUTES IN A SPOT. I literally followed the tow truck into a parking lot between CVS and Dunkin and parked my car while the tow truck also parked.  I ran inside CVS for two minutes, came back outside and the tow truck operator already had my car chained to his truck. Not only did he deliberately park his car in front of a private parking sign, thereby PREVENTING people from knowing that the the spot was private parking but he definitely waited for me to go inside before attempting to take my car to god knows where. I had to pay cash for him to let me have my car back. The most disgusting part was that after I paid, he said I could go back to shopping at CVS and that now I didn't actually have to move my car. Two days later my car gets towed again, and mind you during both these occasions my car was not illegally parked. These people scheme you. This time a napoleonic man came to get my car. He literally shouted at me. Sweared at me, and even threatened me. He then charged 120. Somehow the prices changed for towing. I was charged 170 on a weekday and 120 on a weekend?! That's absolute ridiculousness. This place has absolutely no customer service. The women who answered the phone literally hung up on me and put me on hold for over 10 minutes. Not only did they steal $200 in cash from my uncle's car, but when confronted and asked about it they spun it back and called us liars....they will dig around in your car and help themselves to your valuables! My car was towed by this company. I have several complaints about the experience: 1. When you call, they give you an address which ends up being a parking lot with no door and no entrance. There is literally nobody there and you have to call again at which point they tell you someone will be there soon. While waiting I met a couple who had been waiting for over 30 minutes for someone to show up. 2. Once the person does show up, he is rude, impolite, and aggressive. Again there is nothing that looks legitimate about this business, the guy shows up in a truck and there's no way of knowing you're actually dealing with a company other than the fact that this guy has a receipt book with the company name and address. This guy called the girl a "broad" which I found quite offensive even though i didn't know her. 3. He told me it was cash only which no one had mentioned to me before (should have been mentioned by the first guy on the phone). Then he told me it was exact change only. Then when i said i had to go get change he said he would leave and I should call for him once i'm back. I was too worried about waiting another 30 minutes and it was late in the evening so I ended up giving him extra money. I knew he had change because he had just taken money from someone else, but he just took my money and didn't give me anything back. There is nothing legitimate about this business. There is no one there once you arrive. The person who works there harasses you after showing up late. And finally they scam you with the exact change policy. read more

Yes, I admit, I was parked illegally, not going to dispute it - but, you are so desperate for $50, that you raise my car off the ground, and wait for me to get back, just so you get your money? They towed our car without our concern. and no one or the land owner authorized them to come and tow, they have violated the law. and when we asked to pay in credit the man refused to accept our visa which is against (vehicle code 22658 section (i)).
