I am a patient if Dr. Zajac. In the beginning I did not see him, only the P.A. but ladt 2 visits it has been him I see. In my opinion he is a caring Doctor. I love how he us keen on supplements and vitamins to help you get through the months of taking long term antibiotics. He is personable and kind. I've been a patient of Dr Zajack for a year and a half and have yet to meet him. Have to find a new doctor.

Don't go to this doctor. A question I'm putting out there to those of you that regularly go to doctors appointments.  I had a very unpleasant day and experience with a doctor that I have been going to for four years now. I am very rarely late and usually 5 to 10 minutes early. The length of time waiting in his office to even get in a waiting room has gone to a half hour to an hour and a half. I saw two people that arrived after me go in before me. When I approached the receptionist with my question about the wait time, I was treated with hostility and told it was up to the doctor whom he wanted to see first. I want you to all know that i never raised my voice or caused a scene, just want to be acknowledged. I sat back down, and 10 minutes later my name was called and then put me in the room, where the  assistant hastily did vitals in most unfriendly manner, not even looking at me. The doctor came in acting even more distant than his usual manner ( he's not friendly anyway), asked me about how I had been feeling which I responded with about my bout with bronchitis last month, and now an apparent sinus infection. I told him that I had been trying to book an appointment with him earlier, or get a call from his nurse, but there had not been a response from his office. No apologies on his behalf, just ...I'll look into it. Then he told me me casually the results of my blood test, indicating that my cholesterol level was still very high, asked me if I was still taking the medication he prescribed me at night, which I responded I had been using. Point blank asked me how many mgs I was taking, which I responded that I was unsure what the exact amount was, but he should have it in his notes. He then took a personal call on his cell phone in the room. From there he said he was going to give me a list of referrals for a new physician that ' will not keep you waiting'....and left the room. I just sat there completely stunned, trying to wrap my head around the whole situation of what occurred. I went to the desk to check out..still in a daze about what had just happened, the girl finishing her notes, not really looking at me, I told her I did have questions about my continuation of my prescriptions for the month out (which are pertinent to my health) as I look for a new physician. ...and I was told...with out her even looking up at me, you have a month..  I have NEVER been treated so badly by a physician,  let alone dropped by one. Most of my rambling here is to get it out, get advise and also use in my complaints, which I will address soon towards this physician.  I have looked into reviews about him, he has more negative than positive. If I could give zero stars I would. His referral staffer Debra never returns calls even though they say they will and blatantly lies to you over the phone. She has no customer service skills would not recommend this office to anyone. read more

I just read the only review currently on this site for Dr. Zajac. It gave him one star and was very negative. I obviously cannot speak to the narrative that person chose to provide, but I can relay my experiences with Dr. Zajac. I have been a patient of his for the last 6 years. He has always taken time with me and has never been rude or arrogant whatsoever. He listens to my concerns, opinions and expresses compassion and concern appropriately. The other review indicates they waited a long time to see the doctor; I have also noted that sometimes there is a delay but it is uncommon. I was critically ill in the hospital, and I have no doubt that his expertise and knowledge saved my life. I would suggest if you are looking for a physician in his speciality that you should consider him. read more

Dr.Zajac.Has been an awesome doctor.When all the other doctors said I would die. Dr.Zajac. said no she will not. He got me set up with the right meds. And I consider him like family as he visited me in the hospital regularly as I was in a coma. I still see him 2 times a year for follow-ups read more

He works on Pacific Coast Time. On my first appointment, I decided to leave after waiting for 45 minutes past my appointed time because the doctor was with prior patients. On my second appointment I almost left after 60 minutes of waiting before I was graced with his presence. His first question was to ask me what I had to do at 4:00 pm, because I had asked the office staff how much longer was I going to need to wait because I had another appointment at that time and could not stay. I guess he wanted to know so that he could have some bearing or judgment on who's time was more important to justify his delay. I offered to make another appointment. I even called ahead before this second appointment to see if their office was running on-time and was told they were. NOT TRUE! Then he ignored my concerns and symptoms and suggested I come back in a month. TRULY OVER BOOKED AND DOES NOT NEED ANYMORE PATIENTS. read more

My son, who's been through two spinal fusion surgeries, had an incision and drainage (I&D) surgery (due to a possible infection in his incision from spinal fusion surgery) on June 29. The surgeon who did the I&D wanted my son to follow up with Dr. Zajac within the next week after that. I called three times to try to set an appointment, and each time, his office staff had no idea what I was talking about even though my son's surgeon's office had already communicated with Zajac's office. Because my son's 24, 48, and 72-hour cultures all came back negative, and because he eventually had a follow-up with his surgeon and things looked pretty good, I didn't sweat the fact that we never heard back from Zajac's office. I'd been told by another doctor's office in San Antonio that Zajac's office was incompetent; the fact that it took his staff a MONTH to call us back - a month after my son's surgery - proved that comment about incompetence to be very accurate. I laughed when they called with the August 9 appointment (since his surgeon had wanted the appointment to take place the week of July 1), but I said, "Okay. We'll book it." I booked the appointment because my son still had another set of labs to be drawn (after he had been on antibiotics for about 20 days), and I thought if his surgeon still wanted him to see Zajac, we'd take him there. So, it's August 9. My son's lab work looks great, but when we had his checkup with his surgeon today at 9:30 a.m., his surgeon said that to be on the safe side, he still wanted us to keep our appointment with Zajac. So, we hung around San Antonio (we live in Round Rock) for the 1:45 p.m. appointment. We got there around 1:35. We filled out the paperwork. There were about five people already there ahead of us. It took five minutes to fill out the paperwork. Then we sat and waited. We watched as each of the other five patients went back. A lot of time passed between each patient. After an hour, we still hadn't been taken back to an examination room. Finally, we were taken back to an examination room where we waited for another 45 minutes or more. At one point, I went to the desk to see what the holdup was. At this time, I overheard a caregiver, who had brought in an elderly patient, ask one of the office staff members, "Is there a better time to bring him so he doesn't have to wait so long to be seen?" The office staff member very politely replied, "Well, there are times when there really are a lot of appointments that are scheduled. Around 11 in the mornings might be better." There it is! ",,,there are time when there really are a lot of appointments that are scheduled." I don't think they just double or triple schedule, I think at a minimum, they quadruple schedule appointment times. That is completely unacceptable when there's only one doctor seeing patients. This same office worker helped me when I asked, "How much longer do you think it's going to be?" I will say that she was very kind and apologetic, but she alone can't raise the "star rating" on this review from a one to even a two because everything else was so poorly executed. She came into the room to do some intake because Zajac was with another patient. She said that my son would be the next patient to be seen. I'd heard Zajac in the hallway throughout our hour-and-45-minute+ wait time. He sounded pleasant with patients. When he finally came into the room, I asked him if it was normal for this kind of wait time and told him that my son's appointment was scheduled at 1:45. It was currently past 3:30. His reply was, "You could look elsewhere if you like." I simply replied, "We will." But that will be for our next appointment. I wasn't going to let my son sit there waiting for a total wait time of two hours and not be seen by the doctor. Not only was he rude and arrogant, but he was also incompetent. He said that he wanted to put my son on an antibiotic for three-to-six months because sometimes there is something in there that doesn't show up on the 24, 48, or 72-hour culture that could show up two weeks later. We had already told him that my son's surgery was SIX weeks ago. He went on to say how it was still important that my son be on this antibiotic as a precaution. When my son, who is 18, pointed out - for a second time - that the surgery had taken place six weeks ago, that he had been on an antibiotic up until July 20 (and, I should add, it was Zajac's - presumably Zajac - that my son's surgeon consulted with in order to determine those antibiotics that he was on until July 20), and furthermore pointed out that he hadn't had a fever and was feeling great, suddenly Zajac changed his mind and said an antibiotic wasn't necessary. He let an 18-year-old patient change his mind?!?! I don't mind waiting hours for a GREAT doctor; but when an office quadruples (at a minimum) appointments and then the doctor is rude, I'll never go back again. Stay away from this office. read more

Dr Zajac is very knowledgeable and has done more than any other dr taking care of my mom. He has high expectations of the care staff, and he been exceedingly respectful and accessible for my mom's care. read more
