So not terrible, and the waiting area had a beautiful big fish tank and peaceful feel to the atmosphere. The lady who did my blood work was a pro for sure. I have very small veins, and I'm always scared I'm gonna get poked up and leave looking like a Michael Myers victim. But she did it on the first try and with very little pain. Anytime I had questions about procedures I was given detailed answers and handed a booklet with even more info as well. They are very friendly and very thorough here, and I left feeling well educated and in good hands.

Even for a basic office visit you may be waiting 2 hours after your appointment time to be seen by a provider. Test result follow-ups are very slow, even after they show up on the patient portal. Providers are also slow to write orders when test results are alarming to the patient. Dr. Coutinho used to be great but if you go here now odds are you will just see one of his PAs rather than the Dr. himself. I have nothing against PAs but the care here is simply not up to standard.

The receptionist and head nurse were rude and even laughed at my mother's situation. The other two receptionists were blithely talking on what appeared to be personal calls. There was only one family in the waiting room. DO NOT see this practice if you are looking for a professional, caring medical staff. My mother has lived in San Antonio for 31 years and has never experienced this kind of a horrific experience. Dr. Gogu's office was able to accommodate a same-afternoon appointment for me... Yes, truly a doctor appointment made/received on the same day! Dr. Gogu and his staff quickly had me diagnosed with severe anemia...and on my way to the hospital for a 2-week stay. Hi all, I have two things to cover here…read more 1) The comments about this doctor lacking care or interest are CORRECT. we were always in and out, not much convo, not much concern in general, cold doctor. 2) I've seen reviews about being billed inaccurately and this is also CORRECT. my 6m old now, was billed 250.00 for a visit which is suppose to be covered by medicaid, but was still billed. I called insurance and they informed me that his practice sent off the WRONG billing code and that it in fact should have been covered. I recommend going elsewhere. They need detail oriented staff and the doctor can improve with patients.

This gives me a chance to discuss my latest lab results, how I have felt since the last appointment, and any other issues I feel are pertinent to my ongoing diabetic care. At one point Dr. Cruz was in practice with another doctor in the same office, and it was chaotic at times. It has been a couple of years since they have parted ways and I like the environment much better now. Now I can go to an appointment and expect to be in and out within an hour, more or less. The staff has always been helpful, and when I need any supplies because I have run out, or I am waiting to get refilled by my mail order pharmacy, they always give me enough supplies, i.e. insulin pens, strips, etc. to hold me over.
