Dr Coppin was wonderful. Listened to my concerns. Takes the time to process lots of data and understand next steps.

I really appreciate her honesty and availability over the years. She does not push pills and she always seems to keep up with the latest medical information and keeping my medical history correct. She is able to keep my appointments timely and I don't feel rushed. I am so glad to have her as my primary care provider because I truly trust her treatment of my medical needs.

Never encountered that before. To top it off I am supposed to go to a specialist once a year her people say to go to the appointment and the specialist will do the referral, last time I did that they said they don't work for my PCP, it's her job to do the referral. Instead of $55, I had to pay $175 for a simple visit. My wife and I both don't like the way she talks down to us. She ignores my suggestions and acts like she know everything. I even had to tell her one of my medications was on the list for bad side effects. I liked it better when she had a PA working for her.

Dr. Comfort has been my primary care physician for the last five years. I love being part of his…read morepractice because everyone is kind, caring, and professional. He has minimal staff turnover, which speaks volumes about the office environment. His practice uses retainer medicine, which means I pay a quarterly fee and I get a wealth of benefits, including a comprehensive physical with advanced tests my insurance wouldn't normally cover. He also accepts my insurance for almost everything, so my copays are reasonable. Because he's in solo practice and doesn't use PAs or NPs, I know I'll always get to see my doctor who knows me well. I appreciate the after hours access, smaller patient load, ease of getting appointments, and great coordination of care being with a retainer doc allows. If you're someone with chronic health issues or like having consistent, easy access to a caring doctor, I think you'll like being Dr. Comfort's patient.

BEWARE of North San Antonio Healthcare Associates…read more I chose to establish care with PA Churchwell after she was suggested by another group. Clifford Alprin is her supervising MD. I needed referrals, bloodwork, and a consultation for some severe neurological and cardiac issues I had been experiencing. My establishing care appointment with PA Churchwell went well, she was kind and seemed competent. After that appointment I never heard from her again. PA Churchwell refused to successfully follow up on my lab work for over a month, she failed to assign me to her supervising MD for followthrough, the office was unresponsive to the imaging facility they sent me to (so I was unable to get my MRI) and once they realized I had fallen through the cracks, they promptly made me an appointment with Dr. Alprin. My personal experience with Dr. Alprin has been astonishingly underwhelming. He was unable to answer any questions about my lab work, my concerns, and lacked ANY updated medical information on methylation, genetic testing, possible solutions. HE asked ME to provide him with peer reviewed studies or articles about methylation pathways, genetic mutations, etc. I am VERY shocked this man is allowed to be the "top doctor" in this practice and now that I've met him, I simply should have never expected any better from anyone working under him. His satisfaction in his own ignorance is highly concerning. He could've referred me to someone with the answers, offered to research solutions... he could've done a lot of things differently, but instead- Dr. Alprin continually spoke over me, denied my concerns, and flat out "fired me" from the practice. All because he did not know an answer to a single question I had about MY health. I had begun seeking out alternative care, due to the lack of followthrough. I was hopeful maybe I had slipped through the cracks and could still receive any level of care, but sadly I was mistaken If you are needing competent, comprehensive medical care- don't come here. I have nothing good to say about the practice, except that the office ladies and medical assistants are very nice. However, I don't need nice office ladies, I need competent medical care.
