I've been going to see Dr. Cruz for the better part of fourteen years and I've always been…read moreimpressed with the level of care and service he and Ms. Fernandez provide. Ms. Fernandez, NP, is great to work with as well, and I really enjoy exchanging ideas with her as to how to better manage my diabetes. I really like that both Dr. Cruz and Ms. Fernandez rotate the appointments so I see them every other time I am at the office. Sort of a "fresh" set of eyes when I have an appointment. This gives me a chance to discuss my latest lab results, how I have felt since the last appointment, and any other issues I feel are pertinent to my ongoing diabetic care. At one point Dr. Cruz was in practice with another doctor in the same office, and it was chaotic at times. It has been a couple of years since they have parted ways and I like the environment much better now. Now I can go to an appointment and expect to be in and out within an hour, more or less. The staff has always been helpful, and when I need any supplies because I have run out, or I am waiting to get refilled by my mail order pharmacy, they always give me enough supplies, i.e. insulin pens, strips, etc. to hold me over. Great service. Overall, I am very pleased with the practice and level of care.

While the doctor is great and all, Dawn ( apparently the director) has horrible bedside manner,…read moregives attitude and has zero patients for patients. She raised her voice at me over the phone after I sent a message about a transfusion being cancelled for the third time. While I understand maybe your office has no control over the situation you should train your staff To be kind and informative and helpful. Not rude, mean and down right dismissive. Will not be coming back to this doctor just because of Dawn. if I could five negative stars I would.

Let me preface this review by stating that my experience with my doctor and nurses has been nothing…read morebut positive. 3 stars for that. The front desk staff, on the other hand, have been consistently rude, as if speaking with any of the patients is a huge inconvenience to their daily activities. I DREAD office visits and calling to make appointments/have prescriptions refilled. An example: after being on hold for 15 minutes, I was given no other option than to leave a voicemail for a nurse to have my question answered. (I was calling to check whether she had received my previous voicemail.) The "not recommended" reviews are undoubtedly overly emotional, but they are accurate regarding the remarks about front desk staff. Healthcare is becoming more and more of a business (it is evident this office is organized for profit) and being such, as a customer (patient!), it would be nice to be treated with a minimal level of courteousness and respect.

This clinic has moved over to the "WellMed" system and has gone down the toilet both in basic…read morecustomer service and the quality of patient care. Getting anything done here is a nightmare. Even for a basic office visit you may be waiting 2 hours after your appointment time to be seen by a provider. Test result follow-ups are very slow, even after they show up on the patient portal. Providers are also slow to write orders when test results are alarming to the patient. Dr. Coutinho used to be great but if you go here now odds are you will just see one of his PAs rather than the Dr. himself. I have nothing against PAs but the care here is simply not up to standard.

Dr. Rios is mine and my husband's primary care physician in San Antonio. She is a wonderful,…read morecaring, thorough and excellent doctor. We have both appreciated the time she takes with us, her thoughtful questions to better understand our concerns, and her professionalism. Although she is young, she demonstrated the knowledge and experience that we look for in a doctor. I recommend her highly if anyone has moved to the San Antonio area and is looking for a very good doctor.

My…read moreelderly mother who was just released from the hospital for a life-threatening condition was referred to this practice for URGENT treatment. She was refused service for arriving TWO minutes past "cut-off" time, despite having attempted to call and notify the office multiple times that she would be late due to unexpected construction/traffic (she was only able to leave a message, which they ignored). The receptionist and head nurse were rude and even laughed at my mother's situation. The other two receptionists were blithely talking on what appeared to be personal calls. There was only one family in the waiting room. DO NOT see this practice if you are looking for a professional, caring medical staff. My mother has lived in San Antonio for 31 years and has never experienced this kind of a horrific experience. I am praying that she gets the medical help she needs, since now she can't find anybody who will see her before the New Year. What a travesty and a disgrace. Beware.

I had been suffering with a shoulder injury after a cycling accident. After four weeks, I decided…read moreto see Dr Sledge based on a recommendation from a friend. What impressed me the most was that Dr. Sledge used surgery as a last result. After the MRI showed a tear in the rotator cuff, surgery was the only logical option. During the surgery, Dr. Sledge included the anesthesiologist and Physician's Asst, Ms. Book. They have been working together as a team for years and worked very well together. The incision was so small, you couldn't find the scar after 5 weeks. Wow! PS. When they recommend the shoulder block, take it. Best decision. After surgery, recovery wasn't fun but they warned me about it. Just be patient and the pain will decrease each week. Ms Book, the PA, has done a great job after the surgery helping me to understand how to get my shoulder back to normal. What most impressed me was that she has been in the field for 17 years and knows her stuff. She gave very detailed explanations and advice. It has been nine weeks since the surgery and I am almost back to normal. At 12 weeks, I should be good to go. If I ever need shoulder work again, I will see Dr Sledge without hesitation.

The PT works and now I can swim again, which I have not been able to do for years. He listens well, is very honest, gives you options for treatment and consequences if you chose to not have surgery.

Their goal was to "service" as many patients per doctor per day, which would thereby increase revenue. Towards the end of my time with Dr Atlas at the big firm, we would have about 10 minutes together before he was called to see the next patient. When Dr Atlas departed the medical group to become a concierge doctor and provide in-depth personal care for his patients, I gladly followed him to his new practice. I have semi-annual checkups with Dr Atlas and my visits are between 30 to 60 minutes each, or whatever is required. I travel extensively, and am able to contact him for assistance 24/7 for any issue. He is always available to provide advice or call in an appropriate prescription wherever I may be traveling. His nursing and office staff are awesome to deal with. Yes, there is an annual fee for the concierge service. The one-on-one personal physician concern and attention is well worth it to this patient.

I have no idea why he is listed in my insurance network but I already complained to the insurance company to have him removed. Excuse me for not being exclusive enough and thanks for nothing.
