The baby oil provided no relief. The untreated itching got so bad over the next eleven days that I canceled my Christmas visit to see my parents. I saw Dr. Soltany on December 29, 2023. He immediately looked in my ear canal and removed some dead skin from my left ear canal. He prescribed the right medication for both my ear canals and thoroughly answered my question about next steps. My visit with Dr. Soltany definitely was worth the wait.

It felt like something in my septum was squishy and out of place after the accident. I was having trouble breathing and sleeping. I thought an ENT could look at it and find a solution. Gupta barely looked at my nose. He asked to look at my covered forehead wound, but I said I was not comfortable taking off my bandaid. The hospital that stitched me said I should keep it covered for 2 months. He seemed offended that I wouldn't let him. Then he left the room for awhile. Eventually he came back into the room with a long tube thing. He said it had a camera to look in my nose. The weird thing is he didn't even put it down my nose or anything. He just looked into it from the edge of my nose. He had already done that. Then he said there was no swelling and nothing wrong with it, while also saying to give it time. How would time help if there's nothing wrong with it? He basically said I was being silly and ignored my symptoms. I already had a second opinion lined up for a couple days later. That doctor said there was swelling and that there was a pocket of blood on one side that was closing off that nostril. She drained the blood and I could immediately breathe normal. So clearly Gupta just doesn't know what he is doing. To make matters worse. I then get a bill saying he charged my insurance $900 dollars for "surgery" which I learn was him pretending to use the endoscopy tube so he can charge more money. I messaged and called his office about this, but they ignored me. Don't bother going here.

Everything I have I owe to this face. I went to an urgent care center where they patched up the visible damage and took x-rays. Then they called and asked me to get a CT scan. When the CT scan results came back, they called me very concerned and insisted that I see an ENT immediately. They even made the appointment. When I arrived, the doctor reviewed the CT scan. I had it on a CD. He explained that he could see why they were concerned but assured me that the injuries were severe but did not pose a threat. He showed me the CT scan on the computer. I didn't know what the heck I was looking at, but he explained it. He said that the interior damage to my face would heal over time. There was one issue of the numbness. He said that he could do a surgery but it was not guaranteed that it would health the nerve, depending on the extent of the damage. So we scheduled surgery. It was across the street in the hospital. He came in while I was being prepped. Then after the surgery he explained how it went to Precious. Then I had a follow up visit followed by another follow up visit a month later. It's been about a year now. Most of the numbness is gone. There is only a very small portion of my face that is numb. I'm just as handsome as I was before which truth be told is a very low bar. Throughout the process the doctor explained the injuries, he showed me the CT scan, during the follow ups he was a good communicator always open to questions and always explaining the process. I had the impression that this doctor is very competent and caring. I also appreciate very much how he explained everything and was always willing to answer questions.

Explained everything as it was happening and wasted no time from diagnosis to almost immediately starting the surgery. There was almost no time to get nervous about it. He explained the stinging that would come from the local anesthetic just as the needle went in. I think it was fifteen minutes from the time I walked in almost screaming in pain to walking out after a quick overview of what he did and what I should expect. Christi also gets a nod for getting me in within an hour of my call. Here I am 24 hours later good as new running around in no pain or discomfort. The area is also frequently blocked or congested, and even nasal corticosteroids, allergy shots (I'm on the 2nd level of maintenance) and antihistamines aren't fixing the issue. This has made it hard for me to continue the sport I love, scuba diving. Another issue is that when the surgery was done, he didn't put the plugs/hard gauze into my sinuses to hold my septum in place while it heals. From what I researched, and checking with another doctor, putting these in is the best practice. Now it almost feels like it reverted, and got worse. I paid him in full for the surgery, and for everything, but when I went back for a follow up and explained the issues, he kind of just said everything is fine, but... it's definitely not. I left a review on Google, and even that he didn't seem to care. So it's alarming, because if you have trouble with Dr Hwang, is he really going to help you? Or is he just going to write you off, like he did me? I'm really hoping if Dr Hwang could help me get this resolved and actually look for a real solution to these clear issues and not just blow it off. Considering he's a doctor, and this is what he does, surely there's a way to fix it. If he ever makes things right I'll remove this. The front desk attendants were helpful and very polite when assisting me for my appointment. As for Dr. Rhee, he was straight forward which some might not like but I preferred it. He used a light to look in my ears and my nose, and used a little mirror to look in my throat. I brought him a copy of a film of a sinus cat scan, and also some medical history (last endoscopy which diagnosed esophagitis and sinusitis) in 2019. He sort of shrugged his shoulders, said my issues were complex, and to see a doctor of rheumatology. Apparently this dude is more a facial plastic surgeon than an ENT doctor. He actually said some of my sinus issues could be due to implant rejection. WHAT????? He also made a comment about my youthful facial appearance. Another insinuation, I suppose.
