After his initial consultation and evaluation, he then goes over solutions. Recently, I had belonged to a Medical Group where the doctor would immediately come in and go to the computer, spending less that 2 1/2 minutes of personal time with me as the patient. This became a regular routine, where after all the computer input had been done, then the exam would take place, usually in a rapid manner. The opposite is true of Dr. Furness. I would say his strength is he obviously does his homework before even coming through the door. He knows why you are there and is already prepared to offer options depending on the ailment. He is easily accessible through his office and/or online and is prompt to respond. The most important aspect and quality of Dr. Furness is that he treats his patient as an intelligent adult and listens to options or ideas that the patient has to offer. He is not a doctor who lives off his ego, rather he lives to fulfill his chosen path of healing.

Do you think I would learn to schedule the first appointment in the morning!? My appointment was at 9:30 i waited 45 minutes in the lobby to go to the back room for a seven minute visit. I had to pick a Sutter Health primary care doctor and honestly, it was her friendly face in her photo and she was accepting new patients. From day one, I knew I had made the right choice. At every appointment that I have with her, she doesn't rush, she lets me talk as much as I need to. She knows who I am and sometimes we might talk about something fun we did over the weekend. If she opens up to take new patients ever, this is who you want making medical decisions with you. From check in to check out, the staff are always super nice and focus solely on you. He only wanted to give me cortisone injections, which cost $500.00 an injection. Dr. Keller stated, "I am a neurosurgeon, I'm smarter than Dr. X, and I should know you're in real pain and need medication to control your pain." He ordered strong pain medications, and yes, for the first time I was completely out of pain. I was very concerned about the combination of prescriptions and discussed them with my doctors as well as my pharmacist asking them, "Are these combinations of medications were safe to take?" They all confirmed they were safe. I was judicial about taking them and only if I was in horrific pain. Long story short, Thomas Keller is in jail waiting to be sentenced for the death of 3 patients and over-prescribing opioids.
