Another hour wait !! nothing against the doctor, but this is the third time in a row. I've been there and waited over an hour to see the doctor.!!! Do you think I would learn to schedule the first appointment in the morning!? My appointment was at 9:30 i waited 45 minutes in the lobby to go to the back room for a seven minute visit. Worst part is the girl that checked me in grabbed a file at 10 am and put it on the counter and said oops. I'm not 100% sure that was mine but I'm thinking it was because five minutes later the lady called me back they told me the doctor was running 20 minutes behind, but he was running 50 minutes behind. read more

My husband was five minutes late for an appointment and they told him he could not see the doctor that day. Ok fair but he is a medical professional himself, was sick for three weeks (already been to urgent care who said he needed to follow up with his PCP for anything further). So he gets online and schedules another appointment later that day, now the office calls him and says the doctor is too mad at him to see him later that day and he has to be seen the following week. Currently his blood pressure is very low because of recent weight loss, at least we can manage all this because of our own medical knowledge. He still has head congestion and can't hear well. I had a problem with this doctor previously because of a mix up at the pharmacy that was his and the pharmacies fault, and wrote a negative review here. Now my husband is apparently being held responsible for my issues with him. Are there any good doctors left, because he actual is a good doctor, very knowledgable and has really helped him. read more

Went to him several times and thought he was a nice enough doc. However, since I didn't have any major complaints or conditions his office sent me a letter that he couldn't help with my condition which was totally inaccurate since there was no condition! I guess he wanted to make more money and cared less about healthy people. read more

DR. James Trapnell md, I am telling you now that you are not going to rule my life ,and you are only a doctor on call in case some one need meds. I dont know you ,but you told me that i dont need to have my med;s you gave me 46 pills and i need 44 more, this is clonazepam 2 mg 3 times a day, if i dont get 90 count i can have a stroke or a panic attach or a seizure, if i dont get my med.s i wont be respongable for my action. I spent long time in viet nam and i need ( MY MEDS ) . I will get a hold off my attorney ( General judge Advocate) in the Marine Corps. You are going to order me 44 more pills ,I wont you to call that in to Walgreen at Marlow @ Piner Santa rosa. You are not going to take over my life ,its my body not yours. I have been to many, many, many doctors as I have been chronically ill all my life & I dont really like going to them. IMHO most are good, average or mediocre, some truely awefull (or even dangerous!) & a few are very good or even top notch.Trapnell falls into that last catagorie. He listens & is kind, helpfull, soft spoken, calm, funny, very knowledgeable, has a great bedside manner & usually refers me to a specialist if I need it instead of trying to do it all himself, which is a good thing. I know someday I'll have to find another PCP & that saddens me a little as I will really miss the quality of care I recieve from him. I dont like having to see him, but I do like his great personality & I know I can trust him. The staff has always treated me okay; they dont stand out as being fantastically friendly (except for Fred, may he RIP) or overly bad, as other reviewers suggested. I have been seeing him 4 or 5 years now throughout all their various moves. He is 1 of the few doctors that I would highly recommend. He's my fav PCP of all time! read more

While I love Dr. Trapnell and his nurse Fred, the office staff make this place almost intolerable. They are rude and clearly don't put patients first. It's difficult to make appointments on the phone and getting records can be a pain. The front office lady was very rude on a recent visit when the Dr. was away. I heard her mocking my concerns to other staff. After 2 inconvenient moves in as many years, I am seriously considering looking for a new doctor. I love Dr Trapnell. He is great. unfortunately his staff completely ruins that for me! I've been a patient of Dr. Trapnell's for about two years now. He has helped me get over a few ailments. He has been a decent doctor. But I have had better Doctors in my life, but then again I have also had worse. There are a few things that he did not help me clear up, and for those reasons in particular I am taking away a few stars from his rating. The main thing I am disappointed with is that I had versacolor all over my body. And he really had no solid recommendations for how I could get rid of it. I ended up using an over the counter anti fungal cream and it completely went away in about 2 weeks. I had versacolor for about 2-3 yrs. I had asked many medical professionals about this problem, and none of them had given me a good solid answer for how to get rid of it. So the fact that I cured it with such a common over the counter product without any recommendation from a medical professional was extremely frustrating to me!! Now it seems I may need to find a new doctor. Because my last visit was $150. Usually my visits were only $10 or $15. I'm thinking my insurance no longer covers me to go here... read more

I would highly recommend Dr. Trapnell as a primary care physician for anyone. Very funny, personable, intelligent doctor. I have absolutely no complaints, I wish more physicians were like him! read more

My opinion of Dr Trapnell is very high, his attention is on point and he never makes you feel rushed, however, the staff is lacking. If you have any rescheduling needs please be aware that you will need to fight to reschedule, callbacks are non existent and if you travel, please beware...this office is NOT for you. As a preventative measure, please use a "10 foot pole" to avoid scheduling regret. If you feel the you have come down with a case of scheduling regret , please take two new physician applications and don't call them in the morning. read more

I like the doctor very much but they changed how they handle phone calls and I just can't stand it! You can't leave a message anymore and their recorded message says to just keep calling over and over until someone finally answers! One time I called 14 times before I finally got through. There is absolutely no excuse for that with the technology we have today. Very frustrating, to the point where I am going to find another primary. Very sad. read more

I have had a problem for some time when they were at the old address it was extremely hard to get ahold of anybody mush less to leave a prescription on the answer machine and hoped it would get filled. Having the same problem at this new address impossible so now I just talk to the receipting for now it is alright until the next time. Last month I saw Dr. Trapnell so I could get an outside refferal and bloodwork. Complications with both have lead to 5 weeks of trying unsuccessfully to get through to the front desk. Nearly 30 unanswered calls, multiple unreturned messages and 3 days of leaving during my work day to walk into their office, and I'm literally in the same place as I was day 1. The few people I've spoken with have taken my phone number and told me their medical software is down but I've never received a call back. Sadly, I very much like Dr. Trapnell but my only conclusion is they're trying to weed out patients with frustration tactics. I give up! read more

I ask his team the day of the experience I had with the NP Dina Dimond, to have my former GP Dr. Trapnell to call me. That was Feb. 26th 2016. The hush that be felled the Office Staff was one of awe. All heads turned to look at this oddity being requested by a woman standing in front of them needing to speak to him about the mistreatment of Ms. Diamond. 'Oh that is not done', spoke the appointment setter. 'Doctors don't call their patients when a request is asked'.How do you like that one. Been going there for years and made a decision never to return OR recommend this office to anyone. If I'm being mistreated and not given the respect of a call to complain about your nurse practitioner- this YELP is to share the experience. And my letter to your office detailing the incidents ignored. And no-Dr. Trapnell still hasn't called.....but you were paid by my medical insurance and the difference I owed- $14.45- you sent me to a collection agency. And the $55.86 the NP charged me also was thrown that way. So folks, if you don't like how you are being treated as a human being with dignity and respect Do Not complain to this practice. I've been a patient of Dr. Trapnell's for more than 8 years. After a lifetime of physicians of questionable skill and varying levels of personality, I have finally found a physician and his practice worthy of my loyalty. Dr.Trapnell possesses the unique blend of skill, personality as well as a genuine interest in each individual patient. Although appointments are scheduled to avoid long waiting, He allows enough time for explanation of the issues and even spends additional time delving a little deeper...getting to the possible emotion behind the reason for the visit. He exhibits a sense of total confidence. I appreciate his use of caution if he is unsure of a diagnosis, but I appreciate even more his not making a mountain out of a molehill if there is no reason for a referral. There is a continuity in staff which allows the patient to be known personally, and fosters a feeling of confidence. When a phone call is necessary, the patient knows with whom they are speaking and knows they are not just a name on a file folder. It's always great to know the staff takes a personal interest in each patient as well and it comforting to see the smiling faces of Fred and Diana and other long-term staff. read more

Dr. Trapnell is that rare combination of highly intelligent, positive, and caring that we all want to find in a doctor. The icing on the cake is that he's so upbeat and friendly, as are all of his staff. I feel completely reassured when I see him. The other really lovely aspects to his appointments are that I never feel he's rushing through the appointment - always takes his time, yet I never have to wait long to see him. He's very up on the latest research, and he explains everything that he's thinking about your problem. Doesn't get any better than Dr. Trapnell and his staff! read more

This is the worst doctors office I have ever dealt with. I went in for an arm injury and could not use my right arm to fill out their paperwork. After I explained this to the women at the front desk she said I had to pay them before I filled out the paperwork then was told I can't see the doctor if I don't fill out the paperwork even though I couldn't use my arm and I had already been a patient their with no new information, which I told them. I was offered no assistance so after a rude encounter I finally got pissed and called her a witch, which she completely was being. After I left she yelled in a very condescending way "HAVE A NICE DAY!!!" I just waved and then got numerous harassing calls from the curator about my behavior. I was appalled and tried to end that call but she called back 4 times to harass me some more and it was their staff that treated me like shit! I would steer clear of this place. Trapnell is a nice guy but his staff sucks. It takes my pharmacy three or four calls just to fill prescriptions and I was sick of their ass backward service anyway. Oh and by the way the nurse practitioner was great! and I did get my arm worked out but not from them but YouTube Bob and Brad physical therapists. The irony right? In the end they sent me a letter telling me they didn't want me. Go figure their arrogance it shocking I had already dismissed them and moved on and cancelled my insurance with them. My mom is a patient of Dr Trapnell. She really likes him. He is positive and doesn't make things sound worse as she has gone through numerous cancer surgeries, radiation, and chemo over the past 4 years. It has been depressing and she has gone downhill from this skin cancer. She is 88 now and recently went into a senior boarding home, and hospice just started working with her. But she always bounces back from things. They always take care of changes or refills on her prescriptions, and his assistant, Fred, always calls to check on mom or follow up on our concerns. read more

Dr. Trapnell is one of the two best GPs I have ever seen. He is not only exceedingly thorough and competent, but has a wickedly dry sense of humor that I like, and which helped put me at ease. He's also quite good at breaking down complicated medical conditions and lab results in a way in which an ordinary guy like me can understand. read more

I very much enjoyed my experience with reception staff and Dr. Trapnell. I arrived 15 minutes early to fill out new patient paperwork and was called to come back as soon as I was done. The nursing staff was efficient and friendly and I waited less than 10 minutes for the doctor to meet me. The meeting was directed at my concerns and the doctor was attentive. Though I liked Dr Trapnell personally, his staff not so much. When my Cobra insurance expired and I was forced to go onto Partnership Health, I was told they would not take my insurance. In the Physician Directory, it clearly stated they participated in the plan for existing patients, which was I for 1 1/2 years. I did write a letter to the office manager, which no response and am not looking for a provider in my plan. read more

My appt was to be set up after i ran out of BP pills, i stated i needed to see him before that happened, to no avail, refused to refill prescription,refused to give me an appt before i ran out, and office staff just gave me the runaround.
