I am a parent of an adult special needs daughter. I gave this office a paper to sign so my daughter doesn't lose her medical care. I have received all 12 pages back from social security, her "school", and the lawyer (conserved paperwork) BUT in 5 days, this office/doctor has not had time to sign the single piece of paper. Now we will need to pay out of pocket for her seizure medication since they cannot bring themselves to sign this paper! It's now Friday and I won't get it until Monday IF they have time to look at it!!!! Stay away. They obviously are not in the business of helping their patients - maybe if I offered money I could get the signature???? read more

Dr Leoni and assistant are great, the front office staff however, rude. Not friendly and don't think people in the reception area can hear them talk badly about the patients. Do not recommend whatsoever. I chose Dr. Leoni because it seemed like a small local family practice. He ordered an xray for my daughter which was completed two weeks ago, and he/his office STILL hasn't reviewed the results, nor did the office call me back in a timely fashion. They are totally disorganized, he will not call with results, and I was basically told that if "he had felt it was something to review he would have done that by now." They will not email the results, nor have they been added to our online MyChart. They only send via mail, and are unable to give me a reasonable time frame on when they will be reviewed. Totally. Unacceptable. My daughter is an athlete, and if she is continuing to play on any sort of minor sprain or fracture, there will be bigger conversations to be had. read more

PSA: Dr Leoni is a quack who denies risks of Rx drugs and side effects from the drug company and FDA, and refuses to document side effects. When I ordered my records for the mass personal injury lawsuit, i expected to find my list of 200 side effects I paid to report in exam appointment, as the drug's warning leaflet / legal disclaimer instructs. I asked if antidepressants were risky or addictive and he lied to me, and said, "the risks are rare, and it's not addictive". Both are untrue. I asked the doctor 5 times for the drug warnings, (2 times in exam appointment, on 2 different dates, asking for the research results) and he handed me a google print out 1 paragraph, I still have that in my files. I agreed reluctantly to try it only because he reassured me that antidepressants are not additive or risky. The drugs warnings that came with the sample bottle were so scary, I started having heart palpitations while reading it. The actual warning leaflet was at that time 31 pages in length, but after the cymbalta lawsuit, the warnings are now increased for serotonin syndrome, and allergic reactions, and now 37 pages in length. Had i got the 1st prescription from the pharmacy, their policy is require request a face to face consult, and like up to 97% of patients, never get or see the leaflets. Most pharmacies intentionally hide the warnings, or few people would start mood mind altering drugs. I was tricked to taking gabapentin and prozac and almost died when Dr Leoni told me to switch to cymbalta. ... one of the worst of the antidepressant drugs. Little did I know that drs and pharmacies are not obligated to warn or include the drug's warning leaflets / legal disclaimers but you can bet drs in denial and pharmacies who get sued a lot will deny misleading people, the risks, and that they profit from the chaos they create. The FDA Black Box Warning Label includes the strongest warnings allowed by law and are forced on the drug company legal disclaimers, to warn the consumer, caregivers, and that includes the prescriber. The drug companies intentionally refuse to include the doctor approved 5% maximum reduction slow taper method, or any method whatsoever. As per the patterns of quacks, Dr Leoni refused to return my urgent calls to report side effects for 4 days. I was in pain and didn't know what was happening then. Dr James Leoni guessed a whopping "50% reduction, and told me if i did not taper, I was in for a would of pain". What he didn't say was the drug company advises to STOP the drug if severe side effects serotonin syndrome or allergic reaction, and other certain situations. The risks listed are NOT rare as Dr Leoni would have patients believe. I have come to learn that the risks are common and up to 78% of people have All Rx antidepressant warnings are the same, and the 1st warnings are suicide, sexual dysfunction, serotonin syndrome, depression, bipolar, anxiety, black out, change of personality, hallucinations, involuntary muscle movement and neuropathy, and 500 more warnings most drs will tell you to ignore, like Dr Leoni. The truth is we have the right to know, and a lot of testimonies of experts, injured, and deaths, before the FDA includes a warning. If your Dr tells you to ignore the drug and FDA warnings, that is a big red flag, especially if they have not reviewed the drug with the patient. Most people do not now how to review drugs or what many of the terms mean, such as carcinogenesis = causes the start of cancer cell growth. I never hire drs in denial anymore and awareness is spreading. All my doctors are aware and never deny drug risks or patient reports of side effects, but there is no help or support for those injured by psych drugs, or doctors, nurses, and pharmacies, and caregivers, in denial. Changing serotonin in the body is risky and dangerous, and not necessary or proven medically beneficial. The drug leaflets claim that up to 60% of people get a 10%+/- effectiveness compared to placebo, and fades to 1% in a few months. The drug companies do not tell you that if you take any Rx psych drug or anticonvulsant drugs more than 7 days, a slow taper is required for months or years. 2 to 6 weeks between dose changes. Average time to slow taper is 2.5 years. Risks are not limited to withdrawal, and may continue or not start until long after discontinuation. Risks increase with dose changes, switching drugs, skipping doses or taking more than once daily, dose strength, length taken, and increase with any drug food interactions as listed by the drug company, or other trusted source. I have had ongoing problems with this physician's office. They are disorganized and clearly do not care about a patient's well-being. Getting refills and referrals taken care of is next to impossible without multiple calls, multiple errors and outright lies by the staff. Dr. Leoni farms out refilling prescriptions to a physician's assistant who checks in once a week to refill meds and you are unable to actually talk to her. Over a 4 month period, I had multiple prescriptions for myself and family that each took multiple calls to get filled correctly. The clerical staff and nursing assistant would actually lie about the status or whether another staff was even present. If you ask to speak with Dr. Leoni's assistant, they tell you she is unavailable, that she isn't present present in the facility. The same was true for referrals. The referrals person would say that she made referrals and after checking with that doctor, They had not heard from her. Or the referral was done incorrectly. This happened numerous times. His medical assistant is equally difficult to work with. She forgets to do things and lies about having gotten them done. It is easy to check with other doctors offices, pharmacies and other staff about such things especially if you are required to call several times per week over a several week period of time about medical issues that just don't get done. Not occasional incidents but ongoing and repetitive for all of the above. At one point I called the office repeatedly over a three day period about needing a particular medication refilled that I could not run out of. The front staff finally put me through to the medical assistant at the end of the day (10 minutes to 5 pm) when I ran out. She assured me that the physician's assistant would definitely fill it with in an hour. It was not filled and I ended up needing to call the MD emergency line. This 4 month period of time was incredibly stressful as I could not depend on anyone in the office. I'm not sure why this office receives such high ratings. Perhaps if you do not require medication or referrals to outside doctors or intervention with insurance companies. Dr. Leoni is nice enough but there are other physicians in town that are equally nice BUT HAVE AN ORGANIZED AND cCOMPETENT STAFF. Perhaps they are overworked and understaffed. However, I strongly advise against using this medical practice. It is poorly run. read more

I'm not one to write negative things about people or companies, but when you start messing with my family, the gloves come off. The care at this office has gotten progressively worse over the years. Dr. is very dismissive, we are rushed thru appointments, and we have asked for something to be requested thru insurance at least 8 times and it is never done. Every 3 months it is a battle to get pain meds refilled. We've been promised multiple times and notes have been made in our chart to have the script called in on a certain date to ensure we don't run out. IT IS NEVER DONE ON TIME which means my elderly father lives in pain for days because this Dr. can't seem to get it in on time, and then it is only after multiple unpleasant messages are left on their office voicemail by me that they follow thru. So disappointed by the way I was treated at this office. Staff is extremely rude, they don't even answer the phones anymore, not to mention that I never get a return phone call. You can wait a long time just to get your prescriptions to be refilled. Our family have been patients for over 20 yrs., things have really changed there. This is what happens when you have quantity without quality. I'm far from the only person that feels this way, many do and people talk and are upset. I've been upset about this for a long time and finally made my move out of there. I was pushed around from doctor to nurse practitioner and then back to the doctor. No respect, no care, no compassion....I can go on and on but I'll stop now. I'm sorry Dr Leoni, you really blew it with me. Good luck to you. Read your other Yelp reviews..sad, very sad. We recently took my father in to see Dr. Leoni and he went above and beyond to help my father. He could not have been more thorough and took his time reviewing tests that were done during my father's most recent hospital stay. Ultimatley he called an ER doctor and had us get dad to the hospital. ER was waiting for us and knew what tests were needed. Bottom line is Dr. Leoni listened to our concerns, reviewed everything carefully and helped us get dad back to norm. read more
