After his initial consultation and evaluation, he then goes over solutions. Recently, I had belonged to a Medical Group where the doctor would immediately come in and go to the computer, spending less that 2 1/2 minutes of personal time with me as the patient. This became a regular routine, where after all the computer input had been done, then the exam would take place, usually in a rapid manner. The opposite is true of Dr. Furness. I would say his strength is he obviously does his homework before even coming through the door. He knows why you are there and is already prepared to offer options depending on the ailment. He is easily accessible through his office and/or online and is prompt to respond. The most important aspect and quality of Dr. Furness is that he treats his patient as an intelligent adult and listens to options or ideas that the patient has to offer. He is not a doctor who lives off his ego, rather he lives to fulfill his chosen path of healing.

I often feel that I am bothering them when I need to schedule an appt or am checking in for one. I had a problem with him last year when there was a mix up at the pharmacy that was partially his fault, and partially the pharmacies fault. Plus when my husband went in, he got very appropriate referrals and I never got any. So I filed a complaint at the URGING of my insurance company. I then went to find a new doctor in my HMO plan only to find four hostile, rude doctors who jumped down my throat the first five minutes after I entered the room. After all that, I tried to return to Trapnell a year later, because let's face it, he was much better than then the other four. When I tried to return a year later, the practice manager got very upset and refused to have me back, because I filed the complaint. Which got me thinking. All these doctors are in the same network, and Trapnell must have made some nasty comments about me in his notes so other doctors would read them, which lead them to being so hostile to me in the first five minutes. Doctors face unhappy patients who get upset all the time, for them to remember a minor complaint a year later, only showed he was really upset by it. He then took the opportunity to write nasty things about me, so other doctors had negative preconceived ideas. That is super unprofessional and shows that his staff is nasty to patients because behind the scenes he is probably a real a$& and revengeful. So now I need to switch insurances ASAP to find someone who doesn't have preconceived ideas about me due to hateful notes he wrote. This would never happen pre computer and especially pre EPIC. It always doctors to make private comments, only other providers can read.
