James took the time to really understand my gardening habits and the result is a beautiful, fully edible, low maintenance landscape. It has been more than a year since the job was completed. Garden Details made my landscaping dreams come true!!! My husband and I moved to the Austin area…read morenine years ago and bought a house in suburbia. It had boring landscaping with a front lawn that we didn't have the time to water and mow regularly. Plus, there's been a drought in Texas for so many years now, we just didn't feel like having a green lawn was a very wise priority. I had been drooling over the gorgeous, native landscapes I would see all over Austin, the cool neighborhoods in particular. I knew next to nothing about landscaping, so there was no way I was going to do this myself. My yard kept getting uglier and uglier each year. Then came Garden Details to the rescue! They worked with me to create the perfect design for my front yard will all the beautiful, native plants I loved and the hardscaping features like decomposed granite and boulders that I wanted. Their fabulous team did the install in one day. It was a miraculous transformation! Neighbors I had never spoken to kept coming by and telling me how fantastic it looked! Our house went from having one of the worst yards on the street to having the absolute best. I have never been so proud to be a homeowner. The maintenance is very, very easy. I need to weed now and then, but no mowing. Yay! The native plants require so little water, I barely have to water them for many months of the year. I am truly in love with my yard!

There have been drainage issues in both the front and back yards, and Michael and Bernie were very thoughtful about their proposed solutions. All of the hardscape is done, and the trees are planted. The crew of workers is also great. They make sure the dogs have time to go in the back yard, and they make sure the gates are closed. It's clear this company cares about communication and customer service, which are very high priority to me.

A complete remodel with 2 retaining walls, new irrigation, sod, zero-scaping, a flagstone patio, hot tub, rebuilt deck, pergola, kitchenette, bar top, and electrical. Andy did an excellent job managing the project, paying attention to detail, and staying as close to schedule as possible. He gave us sufficient time after the job was complete to test the final product, make fixes, etc., before taking full payment. He went above and beyond to make sure to stay within budget and give us a beautiful final product. Before going with Andy we got quotes from 2 other landscapers. Rockview Landscaping's quote was in the middle. We didn't go with the cheapest option because Andy felt more trustworthy and willing to stay close to our vision. Additionally, the cheapest quote came from a larger national landscaping firm. It felt impersonal. We wanted to help a local business instead. The pictures speak for themselves. We included some before pictures as well so you can see how awful our backyard used to be, and how complete the remodel is. The slope in our backyard was very steep, making the lawn space completely unusable. The deck was rotting and painted over with an ugly green color. We cannot believe how much flat lawn space we have now, and the patio, hot tub, deck layout is beautiful and functional.

While I was setting up Christmas decorations, I observed that one of the bushes has begun to regrow, which seems to be regarded as a miracle since the root ball was supposedly removed! Additionally, I noticed that a considerable portion of the newly installed concrete slab is distinctly discolored due to inconsistent or improper mixing. Unfortunately it seems I will have to resolve this through our court system.

The project included a complicated French drain that started in the far side of my backyard and extended down the fence line of my property and emptied into the front lawn. The second project, which occurred a couple of years later was to install new sod in my front yard. The most recent project was to replace existing grass from one side of my yard and replace with gravel and step stones. None of the projects were simple one day projects. In most cases the jobs were 2-3 days of hard laborious work for the workers. Speaking of the workers. Pete Facundo is the director of the Bioscapes projects. Pete has always been honest, patient and a professional to work with. His employees are well trained and skillful in the performance of their work. They are respectful and courteous to their customers and their neighbors at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend Pete and Bioscapes for your landscaping project.

For the past two years, we've had nasty flash floods that have left us collectively about $30,000…read morein debt, even with flood insurance. The house is built on a hill, and when a heavy rain hits us after a dry spell, bad things happen. When the last payout finally came in, we'd planned to earmark a big chunk for fixing the drainage once and for all. Enter Keep Austin Landscaped. Even though our house is small and they usually don't do such small jobs, they came up with a great plan to reroute the water from uphill and guide it around our house to prevent flooding. Initially they suggested an inexpensive galvanized wire and rock wall to keep the water from flowing into our house, but later decided that a better, solid concrete retaining wall would do the job better - - for just the same price. And then, of course, COVID happened. Nevertheless, the KAL team was still ready to work with us as long as we gave the workers their distance, which of course was only fair. I really appreciated them coming out and risking getting sick to do that work, especially when we were really scared that any time now we might flood again. Our uphill neighbors initially agreed to allow us to install a French drain on their property to allow water to drain into the alley behind our houses instead of into our house, but then reneged for reasons we still don't understand. We offered to adjust planning to take any specific concerns into account or seek mediation, but they insisted that we not do anything on their side of the hill. Of course it's difficult to route water away from a house down hill if you can't do anything before the water gets there! The nice folks at KAL tried several times to speak to my neighbors in both English and Spanish on our behalf, and in the end our neighbors allowed them to complete the plan by extending gravel drainage along the shared fence. We've just had the first heavy rain after a dry spell since they've been out here, and not a hint of flooding. Working with them has been an absolute joy, and we heartily recommend them for anyone with a landscaping or drainage issue.
