I have had a few things done over the last 5 months and everything has turned out better then I could imagine! I'm thrilled to now have a local dentist who I know has the patients best interest at heart! Update: 5/17/21.... Still using Dr. Jennifer Goodale and I've never been happier (regularly with cleanings and anything extra needed)!! Dr. Goodale is just the GREATEST!!! Rachel the receptionist is awesome as well. She takes care of all insurance claims and gets back to me if need be! She's very personable; I don't feel like I'm at a dentist!! Sarah the dental hygienist gives the best cleanings! Highly recommend!!

Dr. Goodale's office was it from the moment I first spoke to the receptionist Jessica. She was friendly, patient and easy to understand, which is really saying something these days. When I got the the office and sat down with D for my x-rays, she was very comforting and communicative, laying out everything I needed to do and checking in with me throughout to make sure I was good. Then Dr. Goodale came in with great energy and an obvious desire to 1. explain everything extremely clearly and patiently and 2. make sure I was at ease and comfortable. She did my cleaning personally and took my request seriously for caution around certain sensitive areas. She even asked if I was cool with the music they had playing. And then to top if off she gave me the best cleaning I've ever had - my teeth are prone to staining so they were looking pretty rough after a year gap between my last dentist visit. I had even been told by previous hygienists they couldn't do much about the stains. Dr. Goodale got them so white my wife was actually shocked because she had forgotten I had normal teeth. Really can't recommend this place enough I just with that all healthcare providers treated their customers with such grace and empathy, not to mentioned good old fashioned skill at their profession. Know it's tough out there but this place gives you hope that quality care can still thrive. Thank you Dr. Goodale and team!

I was very happy with the doctor and the service at the time and they really helped me out because my regular dentist was on vacation given the holiday season. However one year later the crown popped out of my mouth today. I take excellent care of my teeth, floss twice a day properly, and see my primary dentist for cleanings and x-rays. I also use other things like an interdental to keep plaque off my teeth. The crown had to be glued back in my mouth and it was basically a five minute procedure. However I was required to pay $51 and was told that this is billable. This is absolutely outrageous. The original work that was done by the dentist should not result in a crown popping out of somebody's mouth after only one year. I am very upset about being nickel and dimed in this fashion. Additionally, the front desk person intimated that it was my care of my teeth which resulted in this problem. I can't tell you how fuming mad I am about this accusation on her part. Update--they reversed the charge per the front desk person. So therefore I changed my review.

HOWEVER, once I assessed his list of symptoms, they all fit: sore jaw in the morning, even shooting pain to my eye. I finally agreed to a bite guard and everything has changed! Yeah, it was expensive to get the mold but they have an excellent payment plan! Doc warned me that the clear, light plastic mold might be slightly painful at first and other things that DID NOT HAPPEN. This guard for my top teeth only fit perfectly with such precision. I fall right to sleep with it, have no more pain in my face, am now aware of daytime clenching and I'm saving my other dental work from being destroyed! I've been visiting this practice for many years with different dentists. Dr. Carlos Garzon is the best and the staff are like family to me now!

3/19 UPDATE: Four fillings that I had done here need to be re-done by another dentist four months…read morelater because they were done incorrectly. My new dentist was also amazed at how little was done to the fillings, they were simply applied but never cleaned up so now I have odd looking molars. Finally, when placing a new filling, they didn't even take out all of an old mercury filling, so now have a 10+ year old filling trapped by a new filling (which means that it'll be yet another filling that'll have to be re-done for no good reason) ORIGINAL REVIEW: I wanted to like the staff here, I really did but the service isn't great and due to their errors, I am spending thousands of dollars instead of a few hundred dollars. They'll take you in right away but the dental work is shoddy at best. The fillings are sloppily done and the dentist doesn't take his time making sure the bite is correct and the fillings are smooth. If you do get fillings here, you may want to schedule another appointment a few days later for things to be corrected as every. Single. Time. I've gotten fillings done, I've had to get them fixed. Don't bother with getting anything more serious than a filling done here either, the oral surgeon and endodontist are out of network for my insurance so I had to pay someone else for a consultation who was in-network. Then we get to the pain. I had fillings done in October and they still hurt me almost every day in December. I cannot chew on one side of my mouth without causing pain that lasts for a week or more and needs two ibruprofin every four hours to mitigate. I attribute this to the fact that the fillings had to be adjusted three times after the initial appointment and by the final adjustment, the dentist and the assistant were visibly angry at me for wasting their time again. I'll likely need a root canal or two to fix this mess. Finally, the best part -- I had a filling done here and three weeks later the tooth cracked in half and I had to pay to have it extracted and am in the process of getting an implant. Did the dentist offer a refund or credit for the $200 filling that caused the tooth to break in two? Nope. Did the dentist accept any fault at all? Nope. His workmanship, that should have been $30 to me after insurance is going to cost me $2,000 to fix. I went to this dentist for the first time in August. I have been in near-constant pain since early October. I will admit, the fillings that are hurting are close-ish to the pulp but the mis-alligned fillings had irritated the pulp to a great extent over the 5 weeks it took to adjust. Please, go somewhere else. I really wanted to like Buchanan Dental Arts but I cannot, lest someone else go through what I am going through. PS: the ladies up front are EXCEPTIONAL. They really know their stuff and are just great.
